Your marigold border along the fence is stunning! I may try this along my ugly chain link fence. Great video! I always have tons of marigold seeds. Problem is, I'm terrible getting them to germinate. Still trying :)
Thank you so much! I absolutely love marigolds and I have some planted in my strawberry patch to help with pollination and help to keep pests away( sadly though, not moles, or whatever they are that keeps eating my strawberries). They are such beautiful plants, and it always a wonderful thought to know that marigolds are just one of the many beautiful plants that God has given us to enjoy and thank him for! He is so very good! Thanks so much for a very informative video! God Bless!
Thank you so much for the blessings Joseph! Marigolds do work wonderfully for so many things, unfortunately for all of us, moles are not one of them hahaha! Dogs work great on moles though 🤪! You are very welcome! Thank you so much for watching! God bless you!
Hello! You really should let the marigolds dry on the plant itself before collecting because this gives the seeds time to mature. They will dry out if you collect them fresh but they will not be fully matured and then therefore you will not have very good germination yields when you go to plant. Thanks for watching our video and commenting! We wish you the best of luck with harvesting your marigolds! Saving seeds can be quiet addicting!

@@OurFruitfulFamily I can recommend another solution from a Gardner TH-cam channel named “The Gardening Channel with James Prigioni” - he uses the “Back to Eden” method to create his “food forest” -he was very successful but as his food forest aged 7 years plus, he started adding raised beds in the permaculture area for his annuals, and he is very successful.

Would I be able to take fresh, green coloured pods and let them dry to one side before harvesting the seeds?

@@OurFruitfulFamily hi, thanks for confirming. Much appreciated
Do you direct sew the marigold seeds the following season or start them inside under a grow light?
Most likely direct sewing 2022.

do marigold seeds expire? i have seeds that i picked from 5 years ago.
The germination rate goes down drastically after every year so in a sense, yes.
