After coming off of a disappointing trip to California to see my son and his family, getting COVID ( which I contracted in California) once I was home, I needed to hear your heartfelt thoughts. I am not sure if the relationship with my son (only child) is repairable, but I believe God has a plan for me and I need to trust Him. Blessings to you, Pastor Donna.

I have my mom's dress from 1957 and mine from 1989...My mother made my dress. I got them both out when my boys got married to show them and my two daughters in law. I also have kept them both in cedar chest.

Ok, Donna you need to check out Bernadette Banner. She is a historic costume designer and repairer of vintage clothing. She has a you tube channel and wrote a book called Make Sew and Mend: Traditional Technical Techniques to Sustainably Maintain and Refashion Your Clothes. She is wonderful in her teaching and I love the book. I wish we lived close by so I could help you figure out how you will do this. I love to sew but definitely need a pattern to help me along. Your creativity always inspires me. I love the concept of God repairing us and making us new like a vintage garment. It speaks to the seamstress in me for sure. Happy belated birthday and wedding anniversary. Maybe when you hit 25 years, you can go somewhere where you can wear the dress yourself once you restore it and make it to fit you! Donna, please pray for us... myself, my husband and our dog, we are in a very bad situation since coming back to CT! My brother changed his mind about us staying with him, and we are in hardship. We've been staying in a motel and struggling to pay for it. I started a Spotfund to help us pay for this room until we can get help with housing. Please, please pray for us 😢. If anyone reads my comment please pray 🙏 for us. We're scared and don't want to be on the street. Sometimes family is the biggest betrayal of all.

Well, I have had an eating disorder 2xs in my life and yes, I too during one of those times tried on my mothers wedding dress and it fit!
