Very nice ! Nice display. I have noticed that solid colored items show up well against a dark or patterned background. For example, in front of patterned wallpaper. Or inside a dark or colorful cabinet. Or on a colored or patterned tablecloth. For vignettes, I like to experiment with various backgrounds to achieve the look of a still life painting and take pictures to post on Face Book. I drape a tablecloth, scarf, blanket or even a curtain over a little shelf to create a unified surface and background. Sometimes I have used poster board, or 12x12 card stock made for scrapbooking which comes in neutrals, pastels or patterns. Another idea is to use a solid white piece to anchor or unify various patterned pieces. Flowers could be put into a vase to pick up on the colors of the patterned pieces. It is fun to experiment. So fun! You have your own unique taste and style. I like that. .
Hi! Love the hobnail milk glass pieces. I love milk glass, especially the hobnail. I collect it as well & have some pretty cool pieces. My favorite ones are my giraffe & my rocking horse, those aren't hobnail tho. I also collect old lamps, i have 3 milk glass ones. One is just A candle lamp with the candle part being a diamond pattern milk glass. One is A electric hurricane lamp with the center being hobnail milk glass. And my oldest lamp, the one that actually got me started collecting, is a brass tea pot base with a clear hurricane shade and a hobnail milk glass globe over the shade. That's my bedside lamp & i just love it, its really old & beautiful. I have a couple candle holders but they aren't hobnail either. I have a medium size hen on nest thats milk glass & its pretty opaque. The lady at the antique store said it was an older piece.🤷♀️ The piece that isn't marked you should do a google Lens on it.. find out the maker, the age & the worth! I use google Lens on everything i but, and sometimes in the store tho see if its worth the price. We use to own A trift store when we lived in Tennessee, it came in really handy when we priced, to help us know about the pieces, things like that. I've even identified plants, insects, birds.. its just a great little tool! It didn't work as well on my hen on nest because it don't pick up on the opaqueness. I love enamel ware! I would do the google lens on it & find its exact age! The plate is very cool, so pretty! And of course I'd definitely google Lens that piece & learn more about it! Very nice haul, beautiful pieces! And great prices! Thanks for sharing! Hope you have A blessed week!😊
Happy 60th birthday, and welcome to the 60's!😁 I be 61 in February! I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers for your surgery. I've had over around 15 or more surgeries, including dental, and was put to sleep for all but 1 c-section. Some were major, others weren't. But I just put my faith & trust in God, that he would lead & guide the Drs & that he would keep me safe. Just trust in the Lord, he never fails us!
Wow, that's amazing that you have those unusual pieces and all the lamps..Collecting is so much fun and there is a lot of history. I will definitely try the google lens. Thanks so much for your lovely comments and I hope you have a great week too!
Thank you so much Tammy, my surgery went well overall. I have always depended on God for everything, so this was no exception, Praise the Lord. Take care!
