What I don’t understand is that when we see the videos of these NBA players at practices, they never miss those threes. But suddenly, in the three point contest, they miss those shots.
Obviously pressure. They're not competing in a contest in practice. They're just...practicing.
Also, they're not used to picking up a ball and shooting it from a rack, in practice they're being thrown the ball like in a real game situation.
Also the time you need to be fast and got endurance
Pretty common sense why they missed their shots at the all star 3pt contest,
1. They have to be fast and picking up the ball from the rack. In the gym practice the ball is being thrown at them like in the real game.
2. Ever heard of pressure? They are in arena full of 100s people with flashy lights and many sounds. In the gym, they by themselves with no noise or distractions.
3. Some of the players have to sit and wait for their turn to come and that’s can either warm them up or cool them down.

Bullshit, Bird never scored more than 23 in any 3 pt contest:
1986: first round 16 pts; second round, 18 pts; final round, 22 pts
1987: first round, 13 pts; second round, 18 pts; final round, 16 pts
1988: first round, 17 pts; second round, 23 pts; final round, 17 pts
He took part in the 1990 contest but didn't win and certainly didn't score 30 in the early rounds, as that would have been the second highest score of all time in non-final rounds but there is no trace of it in any record I could check. Stop spreading bullshit and gas up the man like crazy.
Also, the money ball was already there from the start, what wasn't there was the full money ball rack.

She already shot from longer distance than she's used to, you guys really don't know how to give credit where it's due. She's legit as good of a shooter as most elite NBA players.
I think the thing that would make the 3 point contest more interesting is if they had the participants go head to head rack vs rack, no time limit, start opposite sides and meet in middle and see who wins at least for the championship round
