It's called anti magic or corrupted magic. When a person uses a spell that is too strong and is for killing it's curupts not only your magical power but your soul at it's finest. When that happens it neglects them from the physical world and cleanse them,but as a Dept it destroys partial magic Everytime which is the reason the first born unicorn is their. To protect the magic realm from any person that is bad to keep it healthy. It's just like our oceans, we throw garbage and some try to fix it after years of destruction but ends up being too late. So as an ending process the more the spell is used for emotional or conflicted issues in a bad manner it will eventually corrupt whatever is left, leaving it to an emptiness of anti magic/ corrupted magic
The realm of magic is terrifying when you think about it. I really wish the show delve much deeper into the secret worlds of magic and stuff. And the music is really nice in this episode too.
Yeah, Star Vs. the Forces of Evil for three seasons was an enjoyable cartoon with each season being a gradual improvement over the last. Then Season 4 came, which was okay for the first five hours up to Cornonation, but then drop the ball afterwards with some mind-bending storytelling. Still, I had fun watching the program for the most part.
