Windows 11 on 19 YEAR OLD CPU (Tech Vlog #3)

- In this video, I tried out and basically reviewed a laptop with one of the oldest cpus that can run windows 11. The specific one that I used was the 1.8 ghz version, but even older cpus would be lower clock speeds. I had another dell laptop with the same cpu but it was 0.8 ghz because I didn't have the power cable for it, and I gave it 2 hours to open up a mp3 file and it failed both times (because the timer ran out).
The mic I used is the AT2020 for the start part but I tried out a different mic which is the Blue Yeti classic from Value Village, It was the best one I had because my usual mic has a dead battery and my old Maono AU A04 has too much handling noise, sorry about the buzzing noise in the bg that is just my blue yeti and its broken mini usb cable.
I also edited this video on a hackintosh and there will be a video about it soon. There are some audio glitches because I used the mac version of davinci resolve which had it's own set of problems.

I know the cpu in this laptop (hp pavillion dv6500) is not the same one as the desktop one from '05, but the one I used is very similar if not slower because it was 1.8 ghz (tk-55) instead of 2.
I have a dell inspiron 1501 with an athlon 64 x2 (tk-53) from '06 that is speed locked because of the charger and it ran at 800 mhz and failed to open an mp3 file within the 2 hours I gave it;
At least it ran.

tiny 11 is useless cause it cant update , or it will get all the bloatware
you should try arch linux not mint . linux mint is considered a heavy operating system
You wont be able to play val if you install 12 on unsupported cpu
3:13 you may or may not have left windows 11 on default graphics settings. As a normal windows / linux / mac user, you should always look for ways to optimize your pc / laptop / chromebook.
It was on high performance mode, drivers were installed as well, but were left on default, it's not like optimized settings would really help 0.3 fps

bro i had the desktop version of this cpu. it was soo ass when i used to run windows 10 on it a few years ago. thankfully upgraded to a i5 4570 before i could pull out my hair lol
now run it to an amd e1

are there any actual downsides with using win 11 on unsupported hardware, by the way, you deserve WAY more views than you get!
There is a new version of win11 coming out soon that requires even newer instruction sets and they are dropping support for these older cpus.

maybe the most usful part of the laptop maybe the screen to fix a newer broken laptop if can be done?
The screen on this one is wxga 1280x800 so you'd have to find another broken laptop with the exact screen size and dimensions
Windows 11 24H2 will no longer run on this laptop's CPU since it doesn't support SSE4.2
It's disappointing, but I can't really complain

4:37 - The GPU is actually good and decent; you just ran it on the incorrect OS. If you run it on Windows 98, you will have a much more pleasant gaming experience. The Windows 98 library of awesome retro PC games should be more than enough for anyone who wants to play retro games in 2024.
@@sdkdb It may be good for retro gaming, I doubt you could get 98 drivers on a gpu from 07 but I guess I could try it out
@@AndrewsVideoTips143 I remember that NVIDIA released drivers for Windows 98 , but I may be wrong. Either way, the GPU is really good for retro PC games.
