Blah blah, all anybody needs to know is that everything featuring Tony,Frank,Bill,Milo,Ray,Doug,Stephen,Karl,Scott,Chad and Dave is punk rock perfection, simple.
@@rajbeerkaur1153 It makes perfect sense even if I don't know if it's factually correct. But Milo had another band called Milestone, and I guess he recorded it with Descendents instead. Oh, and the comment is eight years old.
All didn't come together when Milo went to college. Bill left Descendents to join Black Flag when Milo went to college. Milo came back from college and recorded more Descendents albums. All came together when Milo left to pursue his career in science. And to the person who thinks this was the only good song on Saves...you must have missed the final track. Explorador is one of Bill Stevenson's most powerful and intense songs. It's unbelievable. Harrowing. As a fan of this music you owe it to yourself to go back and listen to it.
even better with milo singing man, this song was one of my favorites by them then i heard milo aukerman singing and i cant even listen to the original anymore, he's one of the great's man
I liked the released version of this song (probably the best song on the Saves album), but I have to say this version is much better, just a completely different level.
This song sounds like I wont let me from their Everything Sucks album. I can almost hear chad price backing vocals "you know i wont let me" after the "we're gonna be just like them". lyrics.
well - all is basically the decendents - really the first singer for all was dave smalley, from DYS and dag nasty. All came together when milo went to college, but even if you look at the line up on the decendents albums, the're different. Decendents album ALL is the guitar, bass and drums players of ALL hence the name.
For those wondering this song was originally for Milo's short lived band called Milestone. This is a link to the song: th-cam.com/video/6qweey_oUEQ/w-d-xo.html
@celtkid95 well, what happened is this- it was originally recorded and put on the ALL album allroy saves, with scott reynolds on vocals. however, milo wrote the song. this was re-recorded for the best of and although they made a mistake in the liner notes and credited chad price for the vocals, it's actually milo (i emailed the all/descendents webmaster some time back to confirm this)

When the things that you feel Aren't the things you were taught to believe You had your inoculations as a child So you won't go crazy But you'll never go wild Isn't that what you want? @celtkid95 Technically, no. This specific version is taken from the ALL "Best Of" cd. However, there are another two versions I think, one from Allroy Saves and another from an old Descendents Bootleg. You can find all of them in youtube as well.
Milo wrote Just Like Them around 1988 during his stint with the SD band Milestone, and they performed it at almost every show. The tune obviously struck a chord with him, and he tossed it to the ALL guys, who made it their own. SO, definitely a Milo creation in every sense; just not really a "Descendents song", per se.
alguien tiene este disco que me lo pase, porque lo busque por todos lados y no lo encuentro. Anyone have this album? (best of) because I look and search for all places and I can't find it.

narumboh This comes from All self-titled but I consider it a Descendents song anyways because the lineup playing on this recording is the descendents. The version on Allroy saves has Scott on Vocals so I'd consider that the All version and this the Descendents version despite the fact that it was on an All compilation. But the song is originally from Milo's other band Milestone and technically the first version of it is a live version they recorded.
Chobes 182 - I was the singer in Milestone for a brief stint in 1989 after Milo moved away from SD and can confirm you are correct. sceneroller.com/bands/milestone
I disagree on every point. To me the Saves version has a very slurred feeling to it; this one is more punchy, and the solo here is more melodic. The other one is jarring enough to take me right out of the song.
Blah blah, all anybody needs to know is that everything featuring Tony,Frank,Bill,Milo,Ray,Doug,Stephen,Karl,Scott,Chad and Dave is punk rock perfection, simple.

omg explarador... that bass line! Bass Master General in full effect on that one
So many rad songs on Saves. I love the whole album so much I can listen to it end to end.
Explorador is awesome. Good good stuff
this song makes me cry
Parece descendents, cheers from Brasil! Fluminense!

This is so early 90s skate punk I'm experiencing euphoria
@Bernie Rubber I think that skate punk is a mix of pop punk and hardcore punk

Awesome and great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ALL with Milo is Descendents, even on the album ALL.
Milo is singing a ALL song so yeah it’s still ALL
Father's a lonely man in a crowded room
He keeps to himself and he never lets anyone know
It's a part of his heritage - his father was that way too
His mother can't understand why he died so soon
But he's still alive
He's still got his mind
And that's all he needs
To get by
Chorus:
Don't wonder why
Don't wonder why
Don't wonder why
You're gonna be just like them
Don't wonder why
Don't wonder why
Don't wonder why
You're gonna be just like them
I boy I knew was too low
To tie his own shoes
We couldn't tell what was dirt
And what was a bruise
But he's got a gun now
He's got nothing to lose
If you live without love for too long
It might happen to you
And now he's got a home
Where he's not alone
And people care
He knows they do
He seen his picture on the evening news
[Chorus]
Take a look at yourself
Do you like what you see?
When the things that you feel
Aren't the things you were taught to believe
You had your inoculations as a child
So you won't go crazy
But you'll never go wild
Isn't that what you want?
You want to go wild
Wild . . . wild . . .
And now you feel like a lonely man in a crowded room
You tell me nobody really cares, Well how 'bout you?
See there's a man with his hand on a button out there
He's saying in his life, nobody ever cared, no one
So why should he care?
Why?

Great tune, but as a couple of commenters have already said, this is technically a Descendents song because it's Milo on vocals.
I like,,
milo sang backup sometoimes for them
celtkid95 haha i dunno if the guy who replied to me was indeed the Bassmaster General... maybe the webmaster general
@aWhimTested by webmaster do you mean "The Bass Master General"?

Haha I'm with you here. ALL + Milo = Descendents right? Either way I think I prefer this to the version on Allroy Saves
Anyone know where the art in this one came from? (Like a poster of some sort cause i never saw it on an album)
wait if milo is singing this, wouldn't it just be descendents
Said this out loud...clicked on it....scrolled down and read your comment. It is confirmed. This is in fact The Descendents.
its from All selftitled, they make Milo singing because actually its from Milo band called Milestone

@FilthyIcon Sure! No problem at all...
cool, but I honestly like the Scott version better. The recording is more unique sounding and Egerton's solo is so good in the Saves/Scott version.
I disagree on every point. To me the Saves version has a very slurred feeling to it; this one is more punchy, and the solo here is more melodic. The other one is jarring enough to take me right out of the song.
@celtkid95 haha probably
when u go to like that song u love and accidentally unlike it :D
BMX Inferno brought me here.
Nice!!!! Chris Moeller all day!
NO, ALL!
Don't be confused.. All is Descendents.
You're not really a Descendents fan if you don't like ALL! now are you...
Thank god they re-recorded this one with Milo. It was originally on Allroy Saves, and was honestly the only good song on the record.
Nope
I love Milo but I prefer the original
mile did do the original. it's first recording was with milo's other band he fronted called milestone.
I hate to say it, but any ALL song would be so much better with Milo. And this is coming from a huge ALL fan.
Love Milo but to me he's Descendents. ALL's best stuff was with Scott, hands down. That guy can write an awesome song. His solo stuff is great.
Scott every time although his voice ain't as strong he can reach those notes and do crazy melodies. Listen to some Pavers. Crazy shit
Not at ALL (x
