I remember back in time, i was DJ in a big comercial nite club in Montreal called Big Band. In that time i was traveling every week with my rusted car to NYC to buy the best underground music tracks, that was all my life. And 1 nite i decided it was time to educate my comercial crowd with da real house culture and that track was my choice to start da work. The progression took 2 month and after that i had 100% house junkies, 1000 house addicted per nite mission acomplished, dam i was an happy DJ
i get fukin emotional when i hear this music. the clubs , the sweat, and the feelings that went into these songs. this generation will never understand our sound, dance and feeling of this time.
I love this song so much. I remember it when it came out. Now I listen to it and I honestly get choked up. I remember back in 93 how good life was. My dad passed in 2004 and I think of brighter days and cry. I miss those days.
I have to say .. goosebumps all over.. a gem 💎 in the East Coast .. NYC … I would stay up late to record “hot 97 all night dance party “ the days .. great memories.. thank you Cajmere
Saturdays in the early 90s was for walking to the Village in NYC, checking out the shops around 4th street, and hitting up the spot next to Tower Records to get the latest house music on tapes.
The difference between Chicago house music and NJ/NY house music is having the lyrics not just the music part or hooks. My opinion growing up in the NJ/NY Club seen and been to Chicago clubs there's difference. Don't get me wrong all of it is dope way back when and today.
I'm from Maryland and live in Baltimore for yearsssssss I thought this was a Baltimore track. This is a Chitown hit I did not even know all this time I didnt know
Lived it all. Motown, Northern Soul, TSOP, Funk, P Funk, Brit funk, Acid jazz, Drum and Bass, Latin, Latin Jazz, Soulful House, Jazz House, Deep House. These days Japanese grooves like Mondo Groso, Atjazz, Jazztronic, Quasimode, Kyoto Jazz massive. As a white 56 year old English man, I think this makes me a pretty f'kin cool old man. Big night coming up at the Jazz Cafe June 6th. Incognito/Citrus Sun. If you spot me, say hello, and buy me a drink.
I have this on vinyl and the logo of the girl tattooed on my calf.....Memories of this in Detroit and then when I moved to Chicago!! The BEST times!! Only visited NYC a few times during this period but still pivotal and fun as hell!! LOVE!!!
Oh Yess. I remember when this CD was first released. I played it every morning while getting ready for the day, and as soon as I got home every evening.
The absolute best mix of this song - hands down! When this came on - we'd all get so caught up - in tears and giving our selves to the music. Doesn't seem that long ago....
Heard this for the first time at a festival in Barcelona where I was dancing in the sun with my twin brother, the friends we had just made and some people we ran into that we knew. All those people together and the music made me emotional and in that moment I felt like it couldn’t have been any more perfect 🪩💿 best memories
Of all the music I've been into for the past many many many years, (hip hop, electronic, rock, country/bluegrass, metal..all which I love) I come back to House over and over and over again...something about it that makes me feel so good to be alive :0)
Why I love house, since I was thirteen yearsold when I used to listen to late Friday night mixes at in my bed on my old radio, oh I used to fly in my mind on waves of bliss
A PERFECT record. All other mixes pale in comparison to this one, IMO.I went through a very long stretch of unemployment awhile back that was determined to take my sanity. I used to listen to this record all day for days on end at a loud volume.
i did the same 20 years ago at a place called 'the palace' here in halifax! i used stuff like kraze 'the party' etc. this city is still know globally fo rits house scene! Right on mate!
This takes me back to the late 80's & 90's. Warsaw Ballroom, Waterfront and in Miami, the Warehouse, Garage, Hatfield's, Two Potatoes, Stingrays and Keller's in NYC, the Generator and the Prop House in Chicago and so many I whose names I cant recall. Loretta's in ATL. Oh, and there was a fab hole-in-the-wall club in New Orleans back in the 80's that, literally, sat under a highway overpass. There was no ac and it was hot as hell, but we danced like our lives depended on it.
