My first truck I bought brand new was a 1993 king cab 4x4 se with the 6 cylinder it was bulletproof back then! Loved it and I had a manual transmission
The nissan Datsun D21 is the direct competitor of iconic Toyota HILUX back in the days here in asia/Japan (90s) just like Land Cruiser vs Patrol, those 2 compact truck never breaks, super durable and reliable. 🤙
A lot of manufacturers wish they could just do that, crash safety ratings and emissions/efficiency ratings force them to keep redesigning and making bigger vehicles Lot of time it's 2nd and 3rd world countries where they keep making "old" car models from the 80s and 90s well into the 2010s, look up the Nissan Tsuru!! Look up the VW Santana!!
Not a fan of the wheels offered on either hardbody, but leaning heavily toward Nissan as my next truck. Would prefer ProX4 wheels instead. Have great memories of driving my neighbor's hardbody. Bulletproof little truck!
My first Nissan pickup truck was a 1986 4x2 Hardbody with bench seat, AM radio, roll down windows and a 5 speed and it was an awesome tough truck! Today I drive a 2024 Frontier SV 4x2.
Sucks the frontier HB doesnt have rear lockers and just cost as much than a pro4x. Also no leather option or led....imo not a good value when compared to pro4x. Use to have a 93 Sev6 in the same red and wheels
Engine code for the Frontiers is VQ38DD. It feels like a VQ because it is one! And the rails are bolted to the body, not the frame so don’t trust them too much!
I drive a 5/86 Kyushu built LHD D21 kingcab 2wd Z24I electro-injection with forklift timing components in the summer and a 1988 WD21 SE-V6 with VG30I also Kyushu Japan import during the winter. Anyone know how many pre 86.5 D21 Hardbody were built in Japan and where they went? Because this is the only one I have seen made in Japan. I have a short up of the door tag.
@@HenryCalderonJrNissan does have the small King Cab with the longer bed but not in the hard body Edition so if you buy the Hardbody Edition you get the four-door crew cab
So the new Hardbody truck is more expensive and more complicated than the Frontier and therefore is nothing like the original Hardbody. Good job Nissan.

I just bought a 1993 4x4
Love this new Hardbody but 45k is a hard pill to swallow.
Still $20k less than a Tacoma
Make it 35k max with 4x4 and offer a standard and it’d sell like hotcakes.
Well. You were only off by about $9k! Lol.
I'd even buy manual windowd.
No it wouldn’t. Because it’s Nissan.
The American market isn’t ready to accept that Nissan actually makes good vehicles.
Good video……the new trucks are nice but love the old school trucks that take me back to the 90’s
Same here!

They should have just remade the 1986 Hardbody. Nicer looking and 10 times more reliable.

It’s President Nixon’s fault for passing the Chicken Tax. Google it.

I am using d21 Nissan double cab 1992 model and still in good condition nice truck

Frontier is ok enough but has to sell at a discount to new Taco
Trucks add fun to life and those Texans are here to spread the word❤
45k..come on Nissan. 35k and it would sell out
I bought a fully loaded 2023 Frontier SV 4x4 this year for 38k. It's the same vehicle.
Engine code for the Frontiers is VQ38DD. It feels like a VQ because it is one! And the rails are bolted to the body, not the frame so don’t trust them too much!
Y’all rock! Coming from a fellow Texan down in San Antonio. Love the vids.
Thanks fellow Texan!!

Great truck! Love the Look and of course the V6
wish the new one came in a king cab
It does I checked there website
@@HenryCalderonJr nice like the 6' box

This nissan will be my next set of wheels.
I bought a brand new affordable 1987 Nissan 4x4 xe long bed for around 11 k .. today's trucks are too damn expensive 😰
Nice 1986 1/2 year model
one of nissan's biggest misses is not offering a 4x4 manual transmission option in the new truck. The auto transmission is a real disappointment.
Is this only being sold for 2024 or will it be over multiple years?
I wish you did that Pro4X $60,000 in Canada
Best pic up cars Nissan D21
I guarantee if they came out with that old truck today it would sale
You guys didn’t want to do the Hang Time challenge?
why does it not come standard with 4hi / low and rear locking differential like the pro? i dont get it
Great question, usually $$$
I sure do miss my old one. New ones just arent as cool
The old one looks better
Why not a diesel?

They don't make them like that anymore Martha😂
Of course the headlights on the 86 aren’t auto duh😂
they just look ugly. id like the pro 4x lifted with bigger tires to go off road
yeah i wont buy it if its over 35k.
new is way too big , if you gonna bring back hardbody bring back the actual size hardbody !
Its not 80s retro..it is 80s tech
Interference engines 😞 Red flag
Nope I prefer the 22-23
The new Nissan truck looks ugly and way less reliable. I own a 94 1st gen because I wouldn't buy a modern Nissan.
