Oh, that’s kind of sad if the fx don’t work on the line-ins. They do work on external inputs in the MCX8000. But it only has basics.

Yes, it is a limitation of this controller.

yep that's sad, for me that's is the only 1 thing in p4 that could be better, and cobine fx 1 and 2

It’s not possible to have digital effects on something that’s not digital like a record . These are digitized effects altering a digital file . No controller or unit will never be able to do that’s . It’s like walking on water. Impossible

Steven Maneri I’m an audio engineer with a degree in electronics engineering. It’s how I’ve made my living for a very long time. It’s not walking on water. It’s physics and engineering. For decades digital audio effects have been in use on analog audio signals. The main analog signal is not digitized in order to add digital effects. The way it works is it splits the signal from the bus via a DA and sends a branch of the signal to the effects module (picture an analog mixing console with multiple buses and sends. Pick an aux send and feed it to your effects module) then the effects module does its processing and outputs a signal. That signal goes back into the mixer (on a mixing desk that could be via aux return / fx return, or even via a separate channel input), then that signal is mixed back into the main signal. It literally adds (sums) to the analog main signal.
Even my Vestax PMC-05 Pro III all analog dj mixer has an effects loop send and return, and it doesn’t care if the external effects unit is an analog or digital processor. It receives the input signal and mixes it back in to the main output.
BTW, my Traktor S4 controller also does this with analog inputs from turntables. It will mix any of the effects in traktor back in to the analog signal from turntables or cdj’s or any analog source connected to the analog inputs.

So the sweep fx would work for turntables on line in though right?

Yes, you are correct. When using vinyl (or any line level input) only the sweep fx will be available. The prime 4 provides 4 different types of sweep fx (filter, echo, noise, & wash out).

I love that you can just Dj on WIFI. no other controller can do that with 4 channels and no computer on the spot!
