Hi Elaine, Many thanks for your lovely words, it’s wonderful to receive such positive feedback 🤗 Sending all our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele xxx
Loved this. I have never been to freshwater bay. As there is no bus drive to get there. I have been to isle Wight for the past 35 years. But that was wonderful watching that, will have to try and get there in Summer. Thank you Douglas Family from Midlands
Hi @Anne Douglas-hf2bf Many thanks for watching Anne & all the family ❤️ We’re absolutely delighted that you enjoyed our video 🤗 Happy travels 🥰 Sending our very best wishes to you, Keith & Michele xxx
Hi Bren & Jules, We had a fabulous trip, thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the island. Thanks for watching, sending our best wishes to you both, Keith & Michele.
They are very steep daughter fell down them when she was younger and people do seem to rush up and down, looks like a great day for sailing over though, we used to stay and caravan and motorhome south lands site
Hiya..we absolutely love the isle of wight..have been may times always booked the ferry through the site and we agree foing on the boat does make you feel like you really are on your holidays..enjoy 🍷🍷xx
Hi Louise, We totally agree with you, it’s a beautiful island & we shall definitely be returning again soon (got to get that going abroad feeling again 😀) Many thanks for watching, sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele x
Hi Alison & Keith, Many thanks for watching, it’s a wonderful place to visit. Sincerely hope you have a fabulous trip & the sun shines for you ☀️ Sending all our best wishes, happy travels, Keith & Michele x
Looks like a nice stay. Great weather too. We took our van ‘abroad’ to the isle this year and loved it. The ferry makes it feel like such an adventure- though it’s so brief there’s barely time to queue up for a coffee! I’ve posted a couple of IOW videos on my channel - just need a second pair of hands to capture all the action! Take care and keep on caravanning!
Hi Christian, Many thanks for watching, we absolutely loved our time on the IOW, hope you had a fabulous visit. Good luck with your channel, sending all our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Fabulous video again, know that crossing well. Very amusing as I live near Southampton you got Portsmouth and Southampton muddled up.....there's a bit of rivalry between the red's and the blue's 😂. Thanks Keith and Michelle really enjoying your videos. 😃
Many thanks for watching Claire, Sincerely hope we didn’t offend anyone by our geographical confusion! 🤗 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Welcome to our world !! The island and Solent are fantastic and we are lucky enough to see it most days. Have a great time exploring the IOW. We did it a few years ago now and had a great time. Look forward to seeing what you got up to. Nick T.
Hi Nick, Many thanks for watching, we had an incredible time visiting the island, it’s absolutely beautiful! You certainly live in a wonderful location! Hope you’re both well, sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Many thanks for watching Lattitude Adventures, you’ll have a wonderful time, it’s a beautiful island 👍🏻 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
The orchards caravan park in New Bridge is a great place to stay I lived on the island is a great place to live I only moved to the main land because of the wife's mother was ill we now live in gosport
Many thanks for watching Steve, We absolutely loved The Orchards & the island itself. We’ll definitely be returning again soon, so many more places we still need to visit! Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Many thanks for watching Bob & Jenny, you’ve definitely got to visit IOW, it’s a beautiful location with so many places to visit. We’ll definitely be returning as there’s still so much more that we want to see. Poppy will love it & the ferry is no problem when taking pets. Sending our best wishes to you all, Keith & Michele.
High Bob. Both Wightlink and Red Funnel are pet friendly. In fact Red Funnel ferries have a lounge dedicated to dog owners so you don’t have to leave them in the car.
Hi Andrew, It’s a beautiful island & definitely worth a visit 👍🏻 You’ll have a wonderful time, so many places to go! Many thanks for watching, sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Hi Kerry, It’s a beautiful island, we absolutely loved it. You’re very lucky to be a frequent visitor 😀 Very jealous! Many thanks for watching, sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Haha that had me laughing - Southampton or Portsmouth :-) I'm the same, not only do I not know where I'm going, I also don't know where I am. I just rely on the SatNav. I went to IOW as a kid, but haven't been back as an adult. Ferry looked a lot smaller than the cross channel ones. Thanks for sharing, hope you enjoyed your trip...
Lol 😂😀🤣 Good to know we’re not the only ones! We were lucky we actually managed to end up at the right port! 😂 The IoW is fabulous Graham, you’ve got to go with Mandy when you get your new caravan, it’s so scenic & there’s so many places to visit. We’ll definitely be returning as we just didn’t have enough time to see everything we wanted to! Probably a few more trips! Hope you’re both well, thanks for watching, sending all our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
That first part was hilarious and I’m glad I wasn’t a passenger in the back! You would have had to drop me off in the mental hospital! I never knew the IOW was so industrial! Great advice about the weather on the ferry! It has always been the price of the ferry that has put me off! Thanks for the info really fun! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Many thanks for watching, we’re delighted you enjoyed our video 😀 Booking the ferry through the site saved us a fortune, so definitely recommend doing it that way 👍🏻 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Hi Guys I do look fwd to your videos Isle of Wight looks a lovely place to visit so on our list for next year. Have a fab time and will you be doing a video while you are there Ken & Sally 😀
Many thanks for watching Ken & Sally, it’s a wonderful place to visit, you’ll have a fabulous time. Sending our best wishes to you both, Keith & Michele.
Love the video..have a wonderful time.. looks absolutely stunning there..we always seem to fly over the iow to the channel islands..we think next time we'll have a visit there first..xx
Hi Enzo, Many thanks for watching, you’ve both definitely got to take a trip there, you’ll love it! You have got a caravan after all 😜 Sending our best wishes to you both, Keith & Michele xxx
Many thanks for watching Andrew, It’s a beautiful island & definitely worth visiting. We absolutely loved it & will certainly be returning. Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
16:28 we have just booked through CAMC. Called and got the combi deal with Southlands. Ferry on its own with CAMC was £370 and with the combi deal it reduced to £185....you do have to call though, that's the caveat. Always like to see where I'm going when I've got the van on the back so your video was very useful
Hi @danieledwards8008 Many thanks for watching Daniel ❤️ We’re delighted you found our video helpful, thanks for sharing your experience 👍🏻 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele xxx
We love the island been several times we managed to get there last August we stayed at southland camc and discont through the club have a great holiday
Many thanks for watching Paul, We absolutely loved the island & like yourself, we’ll definitely be returning. Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
I deliver to the campsite where you stayed. The orchards is a lovely place surrounded by lovely small villages. The ferry prices are extortionate. But if you can live with that the isle is a great place.
Many thanks for watching Lee, The Orchards is a great site with beautiful scenic views. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there & were fortunate to get a good price on the ferry by booking it through the campsite. Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Hi Mike, We stayed at The Orchards in Newbridge, not too far from where you were. We really wanted to visit the Model Village in Godshill but we just ran out of time. Looked like a fabulous place driving through the High Street.
@@keithandmichele working a vlog of our stay which I hope will be out soon. Will include the model village, Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle plus a few more.
Good to see you out and about again. We have been out a lot too recently, Kent - Lincolnshire - Somerset , enjoy you foreign trip , hope the IOW is not a red zone 👍
Well apparently its not in England so he says is this correct? Last time I went there about 28 years ago IT WAS in England,Has Brexit made the Isle Of Wight European?
Many thanks for watching Nick, Sounds like you’ve been having some great trips 👍🏻 Delighted for you. Fortunately, we didn’t need to quarantine after travelling to IoW 😆 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Hi M, It is in England! The point is, it feels like leaving England just by travelling on the ferry, particularly as foreign travel has been so limited with the pandemic. Apologies if we’ve confused you 🤗 Sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
Not sure where you started off from. But as an articulated truck driver on the M25 daily it's best avoided if possible and I'm paid to be on it! Coming down to Southampton can be done using the A34 from Oxfordshire, drop on to the small section of M3 near Winchester then M27 on and then follow signs into Southampton docks.. Nice video as usual.
Hi Mark, Many thanks for watching & huge thanks for your advice 👍🏻 We shall heed this the next time we have to travel the M25 🤨 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
We made the journey with our van via Red Funnel the day after. Red Funnel were a ship missing and tried to send us on our way for an hour. We refused. We're now down the south of the island. Be warned 1. Never mix up 'Portsmouth' and 'Southampton'. Both cities hate each other. 2. For others considering taking their vans over - get a SATNAV which has the dimensions of your drive train in it and steers you away from the very narrow lanes on the island. 3. The route south through Newport to Carisbrooke is currently shut, so go back up Medina Way and take the turning to Yarmouth and down Gunville. 4. A SATNAV will get you to Dock Gate 7 easily. IOW is a superb place. We are about six miles south of the Carefree lot on the 'back of the island'.
Many thanks for sharing this information, very helpful to know. It’s a beautiful island, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Have a wonderful trip, sending best wishes, Keith & Michele.
Yeah and landgaurd holiday park and lower Hyde holiday park im in the middle of both of them here been here for 5 years and 6 months now from Essex oh yeah they are both in shanklin
interesting video. We were thinking of going, but the price of the crossing was another trip away. Will look into booking with the campsite, thanks for the info👍Mark
Hi Mark & Coral, Many thanks for watching, it’s a fabulous place to visit & booking the ferry through the holiday park saved us a huge amount of money. We definitely recommend a trip there, we will be returning as there are still so many places we didn’t have time to visit! Sending our best wishes to you both, Keith & Michele.
A big hello to you both , could you please let us know if you used the recommended route by the Orchards website, as Station road at Shalfleet looks very narrow in places. How did you find the journey from Cowes? thank you very much. WE LOVE YOUR CHANNEL
Hi John, Many thanks for your kind words, we’re delighted you’re enjoying our channel 🤗 Yes, we followed the recommended route to the Orchards as the alternative routes are quite narrow, so we advise you also follow the route on their website. The journey from Cowes was absolutely fine, when we went there were some road works/diversions, but it was well sign posted & we quickly got back to our route. The Orchards is a beautiful place to stay, you’ll have a fabulous time 👍🏻 Hope this helps, sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
Hi Mark, We hope you have a fabulous holiday, it’s a beautiful island with so much to see & do. Many thanks for watching, sending our best wishes to you, happy travels, Keith & Michele.
Many thanks for watching Charlie, it was a stressful journey getting to “Southampton” but thereafter it was absolutely fine. The sailing was very entertaining 😀 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Love watching your videos. Hoping to upgrade to a caravan in the next year and your tips have been great. I live on the edge of the new forest and i would suggest maybe driving down the day before going to the island and staying on a site in the forest then have a 20/30 min drive into southampton the day you sail. Lots of beautiful sites to spend a day or two. Happy to suggest places if you decide to head this way again xxx
They were lucky the ferry was running on time - as someone who has lived on the beautiful Isle of Wight all my life, I can tell you for a fact that these days the reliability of the boats is pretty poor alot of the time. Only this week there has been masses of cancellations & holdups for hours on end for people using it - it's simply becoming more & more regular now than ever before I'm afraid. A gorgeous place to visit, and in my case live, but it can be a real pain getting over & back when the ferry service is so poor alot of the time, especially considering the amount of money they charge people too.
Yeah being a Islander myself, I find that the ferries have only one agenda and that is to make themselves rich and know that they are holding the Island people to ransom by their insistent unreliability in their service. They are and always have been a pain in the Island’s arse.
Many thanks for watching Adam, From your account it sounds like we were fortunate in our experience. The ferry was on time both journeys & provided a very efficient service. We absolutely loved the island & will be returning to explore it further, you live in a beautiful location. Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
@@keithandmichele glad you enjoyed your visit over here. Yep it's been a nightmare on & off for the last couple of weeks especially now - even today there's been reports of lots of hold ups etc. My brother had been away & was coming back on Friday - he was booked on the 5pm boat and that got cancelled. He subsequently didn't leave Southampton until almost 9pm! Considering they charge people so much money, the service they offer should be much more on the ball IMHO. Next time you're on the Island feel free to message me back & you can drop by mine in Newport & come say hi if you want ! (I live right across the road from where our annual music festival is held). Best wishes 👍
Did you go to Shanklin my Brother lives there and I also took my caravan on the Isle of Wight expensive ferry crossing £40 to get over £120 to get back and that was ten years ago 🤨
Hi Brendan, Yes, we visited Shanklin & the Chine, it’s beautiful. In fact the whole island is wonderful, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit & will be returning. Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Many thanks for watching Robert, it’s a beautiful place to visit, we can wholeheartedly recommend it. You’re correct, we foolishly had the aerial up, had a couple of nights at a site before travelling to the IoW & forget to lower it 🤗 You see, we still make mistakes 😀 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Hi Alan, We stayed at The Orchards in Newbridge, it’s a fabulous site, definitely recommend it if you’re planning a visit. Thanks for watching, sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
Hi Charles, The car is a Kia Sorento 2.2 CRDi, we got it in October last year. It’s a brilliant tow car 👍🏻 Many thanks for watching, sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
It's always been a great shame for us that live here as there are no ferry deals redfunnel and the camps work together just for campers coming here ,its got so expensive I sold my caravan a year ago as it's now cheaper to hire a static ,have fun guys on our iland
Hi Ashley, That’s very disappointing to hear 🤨 Obviously good for tourists but not islanders 🙁 We absolutely love your island! We’ll definitely be returning! Thanks for watching, sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
Hi Suzie, Just to reassure you, we’re both double jabbed, tested before travel, kept socially distanced, regularly washed hands & sanitised, wore face masks indoors. Also, we did say there are lifts available for anyone unable to use the stairs & the island is part of the UK, to us it just felt like going abroad because of getting the ferry 😀 Many thanks for watching, sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
Suzie Peresz! That’s just rude! Why would you say such a thing! Maybe you should check to see if you have covid! Keith and Michelle did! Some people are just naturally vile😩😩😩
@Suzie Peresz That comment did come across as a little rude. But text has no emotion. So if you weren't being rude then maybe use a smiley emoji at the end. From a fellow islander. 😁
Hi to both of you 😊 We are away at Lytham for the weekend and in the van enjoying your latest vlog. Looked a bit grim on the trip down to SouthPorthamptonMouth 😂 Looks like you made it just in time!
Hope you enjoyed your stay, im going middle of August, your right about the discount rate,
Hi Mark, We hope you have a fabulous holiday, it’s a beautiful island with so much to see & do. Many thanks for watching, sending our best wishes to you, happy travels, Keith & Michele.
Brilliant
Hi Claire, Many thanks for your great advice. Good luck with the caravan, sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
Hi both, what site did you use looks absolutely beautiful.
Hi Edward, It was The Orchards in Newbridge. Lovely site, we can highly recommend it 👍🏻 Thanks for watching, sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
Hi guys, what camp site did you stay on, it looks gorgeous :)
Hi Angela, we stayed at the Orchards caravan site. Highly recommend. Thanks for watching, Keith & Michele
Nice video looks a nice place to go. Did you know you where travelling with your aerial up.
If you are members of the camping and caravan club, you can get 50% off the ferry fare, but only with wightlink.
Thanks for sharing this information Andy 👍🏻 Sending best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
Hi what park did you go to if you do mine me asking nice video 👍
Hi Alan, We stayed at The Orchards in Newbridge, it’s a fabulous site, definitely recommend it if you’re planning a visit. Thanks for watching, sending our best wishes, Keith & Michele.
I see you have a new car. Will we be getting a video for that?
Hope you're not bringing Covid to the Island but enjoy. There are lifts instead of using stairs. Isle of Wight is mainland UK.
Which caravan site were you on please?
Hi @hilarycarter-thompson605. We stayed at The Orchards Caravan site. Would highly recommend. Sending you our best wishes, Keith & Michele xxx
