2009 IC FE Maxxforce DT Exhaust regeneration action "Bus 11AA" part 1

Like and Subscribe. This bus was going thru a Active regeneration cycle with me. I noticed the smoke and seen the HEST lamp on. Exhaust Regeneration is a process where the vehicle uses aftertreatment injection to send fuel downstream in the exhaust to the DPF to clean it out or aid in Passive Regeneration "Increase exhaust temperatures". Smoke is produced during any exhaust regeneration cycle. Even applications that are equipped with DEF.

So how do any particulates make it thru the DPF? A Cracked DPF? Or am I seeing DEF “steam” coming out (way too much DEF being injected) and it’s not smoke? Unburned fuel? Still don’t know how even that could make it thru an uncompromised DPF?

This bus doesn't have diesel exhaust fluid, it does the regen when the dpf gets full
