Loved Maura since ATWT. When she was on Y & R I prayed that they would find a great role for her & she would be winning an Emmy on that show. BUT they were stupid, stupid, stupid and killed her off in six months....THEIR LOSS!!!! Love Maura West. She does it best no matter where she is.

Watching her hug so many of her fellow cast members on her way up to the stage gives me so much feels. God, I love this show.

Peggy McKay was famous in soap opera history. She originated the role of Vanessa Dale on soap "Love of Life" in the 1950's. She also died 3 years after this awards ceremony. That Maura West could win against competition like this shows her strength as an actress.

CBS knew how great Maura West was, too bad Maria Arena Bell at Y&R didn't. Fools killed her off and the show lost out. Now she's divine on General Hospital and ABC knows how great she is.
it is a real shame Peggy McCay.....1951-55 as Vanessa Dale on Love of Life....never won in all her Days nominations. Luckily for her that she did WIN for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for the Trials of Rosie O'Neill in 1991!!!!
