It was great to see Matt and Mountain Soles featured. They just repaired my Snowshoes and I had to do a little back and forth with him on a shipping issue. Great work! Repair & Reuse!
This is so timely! I just bought an old Singer and first thing I did was repair and tailor all my old gear. It's already paid itself off! Next step is to try some bikepacking bags.
Wow, another great episode! Now I have a great place to send my outdoor gear (Matt), very interesting to hear his comments on repairs and more. Incredible job leveling that table - WOW! thanks again.
Wow, this is why I love your channel Dustin. Too many cool things to even mention. My biggest takeaway is that I don't even need to repair my own things when there is already a great local shop that can do it (Repair Lair).
Love seeing the Portland life content, looks like a great place with great people. Down to earth yet aspirational. The levelling the counter part made me smile a lot.
It was a good day. Making is awesome. More creating less buying and less throwing away. It's a win win win. My biggest take away was. Miles is a talented young man.
As a "properly" trained furniture maker, I love these videos. I love the freedom you bring to the creative process. I often feel my training really suppesses my creativity, because my thoughts are channelled down set pathways of how to do do things.
Thanks for the awesome content . Once again World class....just decided to clear out and sort out my garage......this video has Inspired me to dust off all my workshop tools . Thanks very much Dustin . As always inspiring .......THE GREATEST PLACE ON THE INTERNET PERIOD!!!!!!!!!
Great idea! Can't wait until you upload a video on your repairs/upgrades. Maybe it's another idea to make a video on your gourmet snacks you take on your adventures. I really like the tortilla things you make....please show and gif tips/tricks/hints..etc. Love your channel.
I love the three but as a "General Engineer" and the "Warranty" for all possessions owned my myself and my family members that are not covered from any incidence (our 100 year old house is one of those items) I have found repairing the last thing I want to do and making the one thing I want to do! Modifying is kind of in the middle there! In the making category I want to learn to sew and make my own custom frame bags and gear! Getting there! Thanks DK!
Cool to see the repair shop as well as his son. Cool guitar (the pattern reminded me of something you’d do). Also cool shades and space he has to make stuff Looks and sounds fun.
Always tailored my own stuff. Have a pair of brilliant, super warm bib tights purchased in 1991...wore out the seat so cut out a seat from some cheap bike tights purchased in thrift store...knees went,so now have double layers on each knee. Still my choice for super cold rides...
I‘ve never been good at repairing cloths and stuff. But washing machines, TVs, computers, and bikes no problem! In fact even if it‘s not broken I‘ll upgrade it, break it in the process,… and then repair it again…
This is so cool. I already follow Miles. I’m a maker too. Seeing two TH-camrs I follow on the screen at the same time is like when the Green Acres cast intermingled with the Beverly Hillbillies on an episode. You Oregon guys do good TH-cam. Now if you can get to my other favorite Oregonian Blacktails studio my life will be complete. Thanks Dustin 👍
Something unsaid with this is how most of what people buy isn't worth repairing, either because the original fabric is such low quality or the cost of the repair far exceeds the value of the original item.
Hey Dustin please may I make a suggestion? Been struggling to make a pair of custom cycling shorts with a shammy .........perhaps an episode or a short "how to on how to make your own cycling shorts ....... clothing at the local bike retailers is insanely expensive .... .I'm sure other players on your channel would be keen ?
Yo yo yo dog! Love this! So good. We need to party soon man! Love the art stuff, maker stuff and the house stuff and your space is epic! Cheers, Steve TTF
I'm probably never gonna make anything from your videos Dustin, but hey, I'm also not likely to ever go cycling into Portland wilderness, so...yes to making more making videos!
Damnit now I feel like I'd need to get my coat made into another coat. That'd be so cool. And guy's just me telling me a tip to make him less money to fix stuff. I respect the hell out of it.
📲Shall we Instagram?: bit.ly/DkleinIG
I've definitely watched that guitar build video. Maybe I should go back and give the kid a subscribe.
It was great to see Matt and Mountain Soles featured. They just repaired my Snowshoes and I had to do a little back and forth with him on a shipping issue. Great work! Repair & Reuse!
Just ordered new snowshoe bindings from Mountain Soles. Thanks!
Badass. Start to finish. I have business with Mountain Sole now. Thank you!
This is so timely! I just bought an old Singer and first thing I did was repair and tailor all my old gear. It's already paid itself off! Next step is to try some bikepacking bags.
Man. This is such an important topic. Thank you for helping promote sustainability
Any time!
I’m really digging these episodes. So cool seeing stuff like this. So many ideas, so many possibilities!
Glad to hear it!
What he said 😎 🔥
thanks for sharing mountain sole repair. I'm saving their info for when something breaks. love it! repair and reuse! Save the planet.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out the shop!
Thank you Matt For making the world a better place!!
I love repairing my gear! Also tayloring is such a useful skill to have. I feel like most people could benefit from learning how to sew
Cole you words are pure gold. I completely agree with you.
I feel that
Totally agree with this. Fabric skills are a big hole in my repertoire!
I learned from my grandma and my friends mom. And honestly they where so excited to teach me. I'm sure you have someone in your life who sews😉
This is pretty legit & the best episode this year.
Thanks brother!!
Wow, another great episode! Now I have a great place to send my outdoor gear (Matt), very interesting to hear his comments on repairs and more. Incredible job leveling that table - WOW! thanks again.
I’m all for the MAKE, MAKE, make vibe!

Really love these Portland by bike episodes and love seeing these creative people!
Yes yes yes, more making!!!
Sick and inspiring video!

Let’s make some things!!! Excited to see what is to be made!😎
Me too 🤣😂
Love seeing the Portland life content, looks like a great place with great people. Down to earth yet aspirational. The levelling the counter part made me smile a lot.
Dustin! Truly loved this episode! I make cycling bags and do a lot of gear repairs, so could totally relate. Awesome job.

Favorite vid of yours so far this year! I love all the making!
Making, Modifying, Repairing - words to live by 🙌🏻
Worth noting both my rides are 10+ years old with a real mix of old, new, second hand, with homemade washers and even 3D prints keeping them going!
RESPECT to all of this!

Just in time! 🙏🏾

Looks and sounds fun.
Your channel inspires me to make more, bicycle more, and explore more, thank you
Happy to hear that!
Oh yeah, more making would be neat to see!

Great shout out to your friends and Makers! Looking to get some custom frame bags for four of my bikes...thanks for the leads for locals.
This city is full of epic makers.
I‘ve never been good at repairing cloths and stuff. But washing machines, TVs, computers, and bikes no problem! In fact even if it‘s not broken I‘ll upgrade it, break it in the process,… and then repair it again…
I need to visit Portland one day. It looks so much more down to earth than what I've seen of 'Murica so far.

finding out theres a great effective way to save your gear in town is a huge win!
It sure is!
Repair is fun and sustaineble..Great Video!..

Love the CHRIS cameo!
This place looks awesome thanks!
I agree. Great content. I would love to mod my outdoor gear. Of course will have to sew and what not. Something to do in retirement!
I’m sorry did I miss the ride by the numbers? Love the makers. Matt seemed like a Dustin mini me.
Yes, more maker videos please.
Love a maker day!! So good to see so many creatives getting down!
Me too!!
LOVE the editing!
My man!! Thank you for noticing. I’ve been focusing on getting them better.
Nice video again dustin, great story and format bro. As always keep safe!
Appreciate it!
Must be amazing living somewhere that has those kinda people. I think it's wicked!
liked and subbed for this one. Thanks for showing us around.
So stoked this one landed with you!
Damn, I’ve been sending my stuff to a place in Eugene. Wish I’d known there was a local alternative.
Now you do!
Inspiring, cheers Dustin!
Appreciate it!
Great video! Random question; where did you get your hat? Been looking for a good one to wear under my helmet for the winter.
You should get the community involved like a maker Monday thing

Can you make a Frankenstein gravel bike jacket?
Question what make/brand are the glasses you are wearing?
Link in description
Time to get the sewing machine out. I'm inspired.
My Man!!
Thank you Dustin, I enjoyed that. I prefer to repair my clothing.
Right on!
I make, modify and especially repair all my bikes.
You’re a designer and artist! Make more things on here
I'm probably never gonna make anything from your videos Dustin, but hey, I'm also not likely to ever go cycling into Portland wilderness, so...yes to making more making videos!
They are allll about the journey!
I heart simple machines- fulcrum life
That’s mint.💪💪🏁🏁🏁
Yes. I am going to wear stuff out!
Perfect!
@@EverythingsBeenDone I remember the first time I wore out my tires on my bike or mg chain ring and though. Damn I am riding a lot. Made me feel good.
Can they make cycling cap that shrunk larger to fit my head!?!? Peace!
Imma have to finally spend that money I've saved for that 12 speed groppo on a heavy duty sewing machine that I'm just going to use once 🤐
This made me want to get the sewing machine out :)
What’s the jacket you’re wearing in the vid? I’m in the market for a commuting jacket and that looks about right but can’t tell the brand.
My jacket is an older version of this one: bit.ly/3sLYPaT
@@EverythingsBeenDone I should have guessed it was Chrome 😉 Thanks!
@@EverythingsBeenDone another question- does it pack small?
Ellie is definitely next 👉 Level 👈
Yo those pants are fresh, Player!

Fucking Portland FTW yet again. So cool!
Damnit now I feel like I'd need to get my coat made into another coat. That'd be so cool. And guy's just me telling me a tip to make him less money to fix stuff. I respect the hell out of it.
Mountain Soles is the best! Tools not jewels. :)
Truth!
Rad one thanks yo
Shout out to my mum for teaching me how to use a needle and thread!! 🤘🏼
That's awesome!
TEAR-MENDER is my bestest friend!
Next time you're in Seattle, swing by Dave Page's; dudes a fucking legend in the footwear industry
Can you shout-out yor neck gaiters especially loose fitting bright colors so i can get some🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️ Peace.
there are some here: dustinklein.threadless.com/collections/neck-gaiters
what about the ride by the numbers?
most likely
Wait! What? Too many bikes situation? Clearly not!
LMAO
YOU ARE BEAUTIFU
Have you ever thought of taking an old video you _made_ and modifying it? There is not enough _modify and repair_ in virtual media and art.
Now this is very unique concept!!
Klum house soon to be visited by OSHA...lol
👷🏻♀️🙊
make, modify and repair. Kinda like you're deadly hair ;-)
hahahah that reminds me , Im past due for a hair modification session!
@@EverythingsBeenDone ♥️
You are obviously very inspired by Casey Neistat; which is great, but I feel like the internet already has one, id much rather see Dustin Klein
I am learning how to find my voice. CN has helped realize I have one.
