Kids today are much more informed about world events then us of an older age were at there age. But they are so much more disrespectful to the older population then we ever thought of being!
i'd say that parents have to stop negotiating every thing with their children. a child who grows up with solid rules is going to respect rules far more than a child who threw a fit when they were told no and the parent negotiates to stop the fit and the kid got what they wanted. maybe that one will be a lawyer lol.
What my dad did to me when I was 14 was top shelf parenting. We had an argument, I stormed into my room and, as it is in most households, you´re not supposed to slam the door. But I did that day. Seconds after the door slammed I heard my father stomping like a angry hippo towards my room - I was pretty sure I would catch a few :D (which happened the last time when I was 7 or something like that). The door exploded open, he walked into my room, stared me down like a real psychopath, yelled "You can slam doors when you pay for it!", turned around and took my door. As a 14 year old, you need nothing more than privacy - without a door, that´s impossible. I´m almost 39 now and still give him credit for that :D
