We have conveyed several comments about Javanese gamelan music, after being able to enjoy the music and learning to become a pangrawit, of course you will ask questions.Where does this gamelan music come from and is music that has a simple score but has a perfect composition.Javanese gamelan music began to exist since the opening of the window to Indonesian civilization, starting first in West Java and Central Java.This gamelan music is almost the same as the history related to the growth of kingdoms in Indonesia, especially in Java.
This gamelan music began during the Tarumanagara period in the fifth century, using the gamelan musical instruments drum, kecrek, kempul and flute and sitar, as accompaniment to Hindu worship ceremonies of the Agastya sect (Hindu sect that worships the god Vishnu) accompanied by the Baratanatiyam type dance created by Bharata in India. Because the Taruma Kingdom, under the Purnawarman family, were the original rulers of the Indian people, like the Baratanatiyam dance, the movements of the dancers and the gamelan music were performed with a range of fast and loud notes. Once the Taruma kingdom collapsed, this gamelan music in the ninth and fourteenth centuries AD was adopted by artists from the kingdom's era. Sundanese art became a folklore folk art. What is now called Jaipong dance and during the Sunda Pakuan Pajajaran kingdom (1400-1555 AD) under the reign of RatuDewata, along with its use of the development of poetic mantras, the teachers refined the rhythm of the gamelan tones which were harmonized with nature and creation towards the essence of divinity. .Because the King and the teachings of the Tantrik Buddhist followers of the Pasupata sect in Sundanese still used kecrek, kempul, drum and suling. The sitar was replaced with an instrument called kecapi (sitting guitar). The harp was influenced by the musical instruments of the Middle East after the conversion to Islam. Sundanese gamelan music that emerged from the Sundanese kingdom of Pakuan Pajajaran is now called "gamelan degung" How did gamelan music develop in Central Java? Wait for further comments.
