Triple cab veiw today. Csx 7886, 588, 7207

Got 3 csx Locomotives getting ready to start unloading a 90 car unit train of corn. Led by #7886 followed by #588 and #7207 if you look towards the end of the video you can see the manifest paperwork showing locomotives and number of cars.

How is it determined that a train needs one or multiple locomotives to pull a train?

It's based on tonnage and terrain and availability of locomotives and the locomotives horsepower. Most 90 car trains come in with 3locos but I have seen them with just 2.
