- If you don’t already know her, meet Miriam! She’s incredible with sharing her knowledge and experience in the orthodox Jewish culture, and I just love her sense of humor! What’s I’ve come to realize is that my art means the most when it it had the ability to emotionally move soemone🥰

@ShannonRochon Sure! It should actually be pretty simple, if a decent amount of work and yardage. It's just gathered tiers, so basically a series of longer and longer rectangles with ribbons at their joining seams. The big deal is that by the time you get to the bottom, that's a really long rectangle and a pretty tight gather.

Aaaa okay. I thought that it's not common for Christian Orthodox to wear such headscarf. I mostly see pentecostal or evangelist women wearing so. That's why I was asking. Wasn't sure if it's Christian Orthodox or Jewish Orthodox. Sorry. :)

So sweet. There are so many hate-filled people in the world, especially within religious communities. But Miriam always spreads love and has such a welcoming aura. I've learned so much from her about Jewish culture.

@@FernandoTorrera Yeah at this point I've stopped trying with religious people. They are their own hate. They're so self righteously up their own rear ends that they glorify themselves as these imperfect little sweet angels. I literally watched a highly religious Christian woman the other day incessantly cuss out and threaten 3 woman and their children because they called her out for scamming people. "But they're not allll like that" Nah, just like 90 percent of them.

it's appropriating native ribbon skirts . they gave no credit or appreciation to the originators but instead claim it as their own
@@shexsolidxtrustxyou know, instead of leaving rancid comments everywhere, you could have just mentioned that this design reminds you of whatever it seems to remind you of. It would have been such a better comment: so much nicer and informative. Now all I know is that you have poor communication skills but I still don't know anything more about the ribbons (which really are more culturally spread than you seem to think, dear. I've got a ribbon dress from my old uncle's 1920's french velvet factory, so... you know... calm down and breathe for two seconds...)

@@lnoorplaylist she's Jewish! If you look at the way she's tied her headscarf, it shows her neck, which iirc is not allowed for hijab. Miriam is also a pretty Jewish name. But yeah, she's Jewish!

I know this is a slightly older post, but I’m just seeing it and I just love the way you worded all of this! Has me almost teary-eyed because I’ve had people come in and out of my life over the years who absolutely are angels, and the way you described it is so perfect. And I completely agree that Gunnar is one of these angels ❤

I love the dress and the reasoning of sleeping in two separate beds. I sleep like a 2 toddler in a boxing match. No man needs to sleep next to that.
My partner and I often sleep in separate beds, because it's like sleeping next to a rotisserie chicken XD

@@yibelula23might be worth trying the European model first, and getting your own sheets, first. My husband death rolls like a crocodile in his sleep, taking all the sheets and blankets with him. First time we slept in a European bed, where I had my own set of sheets and blankets and didn’t freeze in the night? Our solution was found. 😂

I was thinking the same thing. Can she wear just any fabric for a headscarf? Or is it specifically a religious item? Like Maybe it has to be blessed or made in a certain way? Like kosher so to speak?
A hat a wig or scarf are all accepted but it varies on sect. The idea is your hair must be covered.
