I found that treetop skip at 2:15 in casual play a LONG time ago. I was probably 10 or 11 years old. I was just kind of messing around and wondered if I could leap it. I never realized it was a legit speed running tactic. Pretty cool.

How does the Glitch in the first level work where you dive through the door? do you need the flare for this or does it just work if you hit the wall and the door at the same time with your dive?

Just the angle of the dive. The flare thing he does is to stop her stumbling when she lands, the animation for throwing the flare takes over the animation of the stumble.
