Perfect change: 1. Take skill counter away AT THE MOMENT OF ACTIVATION, regardless of whether the skill succeeds. There is no reason why a player should be right in my face spamming instant sparking for free lol If skill counter was lost right away, people would at least have to think about when to use it, and there would be a genuine reward for successfully stopping it. 2. BRING BACK KI CHARGE DEBUFFS PLS!!! 3. All instant spark skills should cost 4 skill counter stocks instead of 3, particularly the ones with buffs and the ones attached to high dp characters with unblockable ultimates.

Ki charge debuff wouldn't do nothing; people would use his instant-spark to ki spam, then, when the sparking ends, they can immediately charge spark to remove the debuffs and then use his supers. The only change i would do it's to put a cooldown to instant-sparking, so people can't do things like that Kefla strat; so at least have a way to counter it

You can make it go down, but only at a specific moment of time when they do that. I understand what you mean it zero consequences for spamming Instant Sparking. Dont think the game is cooked, but hopefully they nerf it a bit

Im never accepting someone under 90% finish rate in Tekken 8. They should do this in this Game, imagine how funny is gonna look when the majority of Match pop ups you get show below 50% finish rate 💀, all the frauds would get exposed, their shiny Z rank would mean nothing next to a 40% Match finish rate tag. This alone would insentivise the rage quitters to clean up their act, cause they will be getting no matches otherwise, mfs gonna locked up in training mode punching air waiting forever for a match. Aint no one accepting a below 80% finish rate match cause you know that mf is gonna RQ. The devs are looking slow tho tbh, they should really add this at least ASAP cause game is dying online.

I hit the lab to try cool shit, like the other day I found out Blue Vegeta has some cool unique properties, and as much as I wanted to hop online to try them, I dont think its worth the stress Im gonna get cause this game is trash online. Whats the point of me learning cool tech to try when as soon as I hit online Imma face: 1.-Nothing but UI goku, SSJ4 gogetas Jiren, Z broly, Beerus, Super Vegito and SSJ2 Keflas, nothing more. 2.-Insta sparks, unblockable ults, after image abusers. 3.-Ki spam tactics (they can be used defensively against bullshit tactics tho, but used offensively is straight cheese) 4.- And when you manage to go thru all of this, bums gonna rage quit on you. Game had the most disgusting case of rage quitting I have ever seen in a versus game. Nah bro, I dont want to put myself thru this, and it is a shame cause beneath all that, the game can be fun. Yeah, it's kinda insane that they launched a patch that targeted Yajirobe, but none of the other issues this game has. It's fixable, too, there's so many ways to tweak some of the broken mechanics. I'm fine with this game being unbalanced, but there's some shit that is just broken design. Insta sparks should cost skill points even if it fails, the number of times I've interrupted an insta spark and it doesn't matter. One knockback and they get it anyway. I love this game, and I want it to be better. I really, really hope they start communicating and fixing things. It has the potential to be such a blast. As an aside, I've been playing a lot of God Vegeta, mind sharing some of the stuff you found about Blue Vegeta? Would love to try it.
@Repteed Yep the Game is fixable, they don't have to do anything crazy, they just have to do like Tekken and show you the disconnect ratio of players you about to face, this way we won't be taking people under 90% cause you know they quitting, so they would have to clean up their act if they want to get games. Or just straight up a RQ penalty. On balance they can implemente what you said for insta spark, or make it cost 5-6 Bars, or give it a debuff when it's over like Tenkaichi 3, same as after image, give it a debuff it's done, or make so the user doesnt gain skill points while active so they don't have it active 80% of the Match. They could also tweak something about unblockable ults. Finally, give every Char 3 bar health for singles, or add a mode where everyone has same health for singles. And for My blue Vegeta stuff, imma share: his gamma burst super is insane, can be done point blanc so you can use it after any stun cause you don't have to do a step back all supers do point blanc that let oponent's recover, also it costs only 2 Bars! And it does crazy dmg, does 10k just as his final flash but that one is 3 bars, I honestly think gamma burst may be top 3 Best supers (non ults) in-game, and I don't know which other chars have it. But it is crazy good, combined with blue Vegeta perma install he gets for 5 skill points, it does 12k raw and in short combos, just pure unadulterated guaranteed dmg. But of course tech like this gets buried in the sea of actual cheese stuff this Game has. Everyone deemed Bluegeta a Bad pick cause his skill points abilities are Bad, no wild sense, no insta spark, no after image, no explosive Wave, no Ki recharge, nothing, and on top of that he is a 3 bar health char, and I kinda agree he lacks in the skill abilities. But his gamma burst is so good that he is worth a Pick for this alone. Try it, I had a blast playing him with my hommies offline, they didnt know what hit em lol, their súper counters couldnt do squat. Just a quick 3 hit combo into sweep into point blanc gamma burst and 15k health was gone lol, bluegeta is fun. Oponent can do a Vanish for the gamma burst after stuns but it has to be timed perfectly and nobody Dodged it that day Even tho I told them (time a Vanish bro). So it is proven to work. And it is still guaranteed no Vanish no nothing after a blowback or smash finish anyways.

Z rank is just inflated ego, disconnects, no skill ki spam, ult spam anyway cus its not a game where that matters too much. I get the game isnt meant to be competitive, its just how the community reacts to this ranked mode that is so annoying. Worst part is this is the META strattegy... the game incentivises ult spamming and ki spamming cus there's no counter play
The fact you can just spam supers with virtually zero downside is such an awful design decision imo. You can charge super fast and as soon as you have decent range you can just do it over and over and over and over. It's not fun at all. I know there's counter systems in place to deal with ki attacks but again, it's not fun. I really have to perfectly dodge and counter this dude who is just mashing 1 or 2 buttons non-stop? Yeah...Cool game.

Yep, I decided playing ranked after weeks (cause of story mode) and now I am hardstuck in B5 cause everyone constantly counters me. Those Z-Ranks that headed in the game early like in the video, do not do a ounce of proper defence.
Two easy fixes: 1) double the cast time of instant sparking. 2) allow for LP gain even if your opponent disconnects. Instant Sparking litterally breaks the game in so many ways. Its so good that it punishes people for playing well the entire fight because you can get your ass beat, get 6 skill counters, and just 2 tap people. You are also punished if you knock a spark abuser too far Fyi: bardock has easily the best instant spark in the game
Agreed dude lol. I play z 17 and if I give them a second to instant spark now I either have to run or hope I lock them in a vanish war long enough for it to wear off. Beat a Z rank Ginyu just trying to change bodies each game this way
easiest fix would be just to make skill counts go up as fast as they did in BT3 and not make them go faster while taking a beating or vanishing. It's so true that you get punished for simply playing well because you can piece someone the whole match and take them down to 2 health bars just to see them insta-spark and ult your ass, worst thing is how they're already at 4 or 5 after being whooped all game while you're still up to just 2 and you can't do nothing about it. I'm so sick of fighting z Brolys because they pick his base form for lower pd and in 20 secs game time I've already given them his LSSJ form with an extra health bar by BEATING them and to close the deal it's insta spark and his bs ult which takes 2 bars. Of course they switch him off right after and when he comes back he's already at full hp because characters that are standing out for some reason recover whole bars and not just the bar they're at like in BT3. It's like this game wants to force you into being an impaired spammer because if you try comboing your opponents instead of using supers you're just dealing lower damage and helping them farm points for forms, after strike and sparking.
Bardock does have the best instant sparking but he can’t abuse of his ult like Z Broly or Kefla. That skill is easily god tier but you still have to pull off most of the work, you can’t 2 tap people with him
The problem with Z ranks is that at least 50% of them got there by rage quitting or abusing cheese on the early days of the game, since noone really knew how to deal with stuff.
Dude I actually fought that Z rank dude at the start of the video yesterday and recorded the fight. He was SSJ4 Gogeta… I almost beat him with Bardock, but he won. At least he wasn’t straight up spamming against me like he did against you. Great video, man!

You know what’s so sad about this game. BT3 was already perfect the way it was. Ki sickness after ultimates, no supers hitting on the ground, no unreactable INSTANT UNBLOCKABLE ULTIMATES (easily the dumbest thing in the game bar none), blast stocks did not come as quickly and no Super Perception (the 2nd most stupid mechanic in the game, extremely high reward for extremely low risk. You can literally hold the damn button while getting comboed and combo back)

Which absolutely should happen I'm surprised that how disappointing this game is in some aspects and how great it is in others. Shenron being very disappointing is one thing and the lack of stages and characters is another. The fact that we are missing the dragon Ball stage and the GT stories, which will undoubtedly be sold back to us as DLC. And the old soundtrack is being sold back to us instead of doing what the older games would have done and probably given us the music for free or as an unlockable with a wish. It's actually downright disrespectful how modern gaming is where they have the data for the old characters in the game, you just get access to them by giving extra money. Now you're going to end up spending probably an extra $100 on this game that you already got for $70. But the problem is everyone is so hyped and they like it initially that they don't care. They've been waiting on this for about 20 years. I've been waiting for this for a long time, but this game has so many issues that you cannot ignore them.

This is what happens when you put ranked in a game like this. It worked for FighterZ because it’s an actual game made for competitiveness but here in sparking zero it’s just try hards ruining a classic beat ‘em up party game.

@@ssgkeyy Or maybe make it reactive, so if you use it and sit on it. You don't gain skill points and it doesn't put you in an advantageous spot. However, with good timing and prediction, not only does it not stop your skill point gain but also give the blink into an advantage spot. Rewarding skilled application and allowing lesser skilled application but at a cost. As for strike, make it so instead of spamming afterimages, make it so a reactive successful use basically sets up a combo with a strong hit or if used against a super, give you ki to throw one right back at them. That'd set up a badass scenes where if you use it at the perfect time. You basically punish a spammer and throw it right back.
From the beginning they should have made a ranked mode designed with specific features for ranked, in fact that would do what I expected, 2 online modes, the casual one would be completely normal without restrictions, but the ranked for me had to reward timing, combos, synchronization, counters, strategies, all types of movement and all types of guards, that would be competitive, and the gameplay would not be based on "whoever reaches full power first does the ultimate attack and wins". and before anyone tells me “budokai tenkaichi shouldn’t be modified to be competitive, those have never been competitive” bruh that’s because we’ve never had a mode that was literally called “ranked” before
Although I personally don’t have that much of an annoyance towards Instant Sparking, a few ways I think it could be reworked is: 1: Once activated, whether it’s interrupted or not, take away the stocks 2. After Instant Sparking, character should have Ki Sickness similar to BT3 (making you charge slower and gain stocks slower) 3. A bit unrelated but, successful Super Counters should provide a stock, whilst taking away a stock from opponent. This could make for it being more rewarding than just interrupting a combo.
S counter is broken already and you want to buff it more? it breaks any combo you might be in and can be used in vanish wars too, people do stupid shit and instead of being punished with a combo up their asses they S counter and its all good. even if its not the easiest to pull it definitely its not has hard as it should be and its free. "just interrupting a combo" its laughable bruh, you take 2 punches instead of an entire bar worth of damage thanks to it.

I don’t get why they gave already OP characters instant sparking, they know it too looking at their DP level and almost every op character has it. Especially with it being not much of a chore to get 3 skill points. They gotta start with unique skills instead of a renamed instant sparking for 90% of the characters and a wild sense

@@JohnGlow2 No it's intended. You get skill points when you lose a health bar. It's why sudden insta-spark comebacks are so common in this game with high-HP characters. They lose 3 health bars, go insta spark, do 25k damage for free, and then go insta spark again.

bois i found the best strat for getting away from these unblockable ults, you first gotta pick someone with instant transmission or something similar where they lose focus than after you did that just dash up and down

Keflas ultimate is blockable just fyi keep the block held and the first part will be blocked leading to them not using the second half of that ultimate

@jjaang0912 Nah, I hate quitters but even I think this goes to far. I think they should just do what Street Fighter 6 does. You get punished by losing a lot of rank for every quit, and you go into a pool where you'll only play quitters like you.

Instant sparking should automatically knock you down to ZERO skill points. The kicker being if you use it with 5 points it lasts longer than with 2. Like if you do it with two it is just enough time to get ONE special off after a dragon dash and combo The buff would remain for their regular duration tho regardless of points
At least his ult isn’t cheap and he can’t just spam it. I don’t like instant sparking but the kefla was the problem. They got beat up all game and got rewarded for it by doing two ults and winning.

Bardock Instant Sparking + Explosive Wave Skill and He gains Super Armor in Sparking. Bardock is definitely cracked as well as a character. People don't be wanting to admit when they're character is top tier though
This addresses is one of the issues I have with Sparking Zero. A lot of beam ultimates aren't really ultimate but ranged grabs. So the moment you get hit by that first one you can't vanish out or do anything about it like you could in BT3. You can't even do an explosive wave in the middle of getting comboed up by those blasts. They also change some attacks that were initially blast until rush attacks like piccolo's hellzone grenade. If you miss that first ball you're not going to get the rest of the attack off while in the older game you just had everyone surrounded and if it hit, it hit. It's like they wanted to guarantee that some moves hit entirely and you can enjoy the cinematics, but it made the gameplay suffer as a result because now, you just look for the one move to dodge. Or you get ki spammed into a ranged grab ult.
It's so reassuring and frustrating at the same time seeing other people suffering from the same BS I do. From my exp, not only are they higher rank most of the time but also play top tier characters. As a Tapion main (or any other lower dp/tier character for other people) you already have to work harder to make as few mistakes as possible since our dmg output is just worse and 1 ultimate from them is almost always a death sentence. And these assholes not only have the audacity to rage quit, they also are fully aware that they don't lose points and you're gaining any in turn. It's frustrating enough that they don't give us more points for beating stronger characters in an unbalanced game. I quit ranked because of it for the past weeks because I am sick of these childs who can't take an L or run the set most of the time. If they don't penalize those players at least marker them with a symbol that implies many disconnects and give us the choice to refuse those players. They rly need to change a lot for online.
It's very possible you did get the points, the display is very broken and sometimes going back to main menu or rebooting the game will make it display the correct amount, went from S1 to Z by simply rebooting the game after a match despite it saying i was still in S1 lol.

You should try vegito blue or another character with Full Power, it counters sparking mode because you get a cutscene and its faster, so you keep the pressure up
I was stuck at B1-B2 for a while and kept running into ssj4 Gogeta, super vegito, lssj Broly, ssj Kelfa, and both ui Goku’s all spamming ki blasts, instant sparking, ultras, or all 3. I started using Beerus to see if instant sparking is really that easy to take advantage of and it is lol. Certain abilities absolutely can and will carry you in this game and bandai namco needs to fix it cause there’s a reason the same characters with the same abilities are being used in ranked

There needs to be a punishment for people who rq during ranked consecutively, like a time out or something. It's absurd that isn't in the game already.
Had a guy cheese me with a stupid rush from bardock every 5 minutes. Once the second round started, and I won, he rejected my request for another rematch.
I also encountered some players like that today, they want to be in the top ranks and they don't even know how to really fight because they resort to a dirty and stupid playstyle, but they are there because they do, and more and more players do it because it's really hard to counter them, and by the way, if you manage to defeat them, they cut the connection, and what do they get as punishment? A pat on the back, and they keep screwing people who really want to take the game seriously. Cutting the connection should count as surrendering to your opponent, and give you your well-deserved victory points, plus, it should take points away from the one who left, they're more likely to turn off the internet, to lose the signal legitimately, there's no reason not to penalize this, it's competitive, activating your maximum power instantly takes points away from you and not waiting for it to activate to take them away, this way they make these sick people's neurons work a little harder, and make L1 L1 counterattack have a greater stunning impact when countering Ki bursts (because you can also counter Ki bursts), since they recover very quickly, back off, and keep spamming, although few are those who think about backing off, because really, they are very stupid people and the best option is to hit them while they do this to you.

The difference is that Base Kefla has an extra 4 health bars with completely higher stats than the rest of the roster. Something bardock does not have. On top of that, she also has two transformation buffs, one giving insta-spark at only 3 bars with an explosive wave type ultimate.
Hilarious sad fact about Kefla mains.. They spam a move that says "Im the best in the world" as many times as they can per battle and yet their actually skill level is probably ranked amongst the absolute worst in the world.

Ranked without items is very very hard to deal with most cheeses , Cheese characters have way too much advantage with no items there no realistic way to beat them unless you are way way better than them , with items depending on your build you can always keep pressure to never let them go into sparking and even if they do there way more chance of survival, the only problematic Item is "God ki" which is mandatory technically and open some of other cheeses , but once you learn to play around it is way way better than ranked with no items, without items your hands are tied, with items there is always a fighting chance, as Z-rank player and someone that played BT3 to death , I think playing without items is awful in this game

Wow, you're an amazing player, bo. I'm playing singles, maining Turles and for the life of me I can't level up and move past B5. I, more or less, know the mechanics but it looks like I have a great issue with blocking - my opponents seem to automatically turn to face me when I'm behind them but it's not the case for me... I don't know if you're supposed to hold the directional button while you block or it's the matter of some kind of assist in the control options? My winrate's like 20% and for some reason the game doesn't lower my rank thus I don't really face opponents who are, similarly to me, shit at the game. xD With that being said, it's a joy to watch a low class warrior like Bardock to beat up these busted ass characters. :D

1. Take skill counter away AT THE MOMENT OF ACTIVATION, regardless of whether the skill succeeds. There is no reason why a player should be right in my face spamming instant sparking for free lol If skill counter was lost right away, people would at least have to think about when to use it, and there would be a genuine reward for successfully stopping it.
2. BRING BACK KI CHARGE DEBUFFS PLS!!!
3. All instant spark skills should cost 4 skill counter stocks instead of 3, particularly the ones with buffs and the ones attached to high dp characters with unblockable ultimates.

Ki charge debuff wouldn't do nothing; people would use his instant-spark to ki spam, then, when the sparking ends, they can immediately charge spark to remove the debuffs and then use his supers.
The only change i would do it's to put a cooldown to instant-sparking, so people can't do things like that Kefla strat; so at least have a way to counter it

Nah bro, I dont want to put myself thru this, and it is a shame cause beneath all that, the game can be fun. But right now it is straight trash, and the numbers show it is dying, devs should do something ASAP, and communicate too, cause the been silent.
Yeah, it's kinda insane that they launched a patch that targeted Yajirobe, but none of the other issues this game has.
It's fixable, too, there's so many ways to tweak some of the broken mechanics. I'm fine with this game being unbalanced, but there's some shit that is just broken design. Insta sparks should cost skill points even if it fails, the number of times I've interrupted an insta spark and it doesn't matter. One knockback and they get it anyway.
I love this game, and I want it to be better. I really, really hope they start communicating and fixing things. It has the potential to be such a blast.
As an aside, I've been playing a lot of God Vegeta, mind sharing some of the stuff you found about Blue Vegeta? Would love to try it.
@Repteed Yep the Game is fixable, they don't have to do anything crazy, they just have to do like Tekken and show you the disconnect ratio of players you about to face, this way we won't be taking people under 90% cause you know they quitting, so they would have to clean up their act if they want to get games. Or just straight up a RQ penalty.
On balance they can implemente what you said for insta spark, or make it cost 5-6 Bars, or give it a debuff when it's over like Tenkaichi 3, same as after image, give it a debuff it's done, or make so the user doesnt gain skill points while active so they don't have it active 80% of the Match. They could also tweak something about unblockable ults. Finally, give every Char 3 bar health for singles, or add a mode where everyone has same health for singles.
And for My blue Vegeta stuff, imma share: his gamma burst super is insane, can be done point blanc so you can use it after any stun cause you don't have to do a step back all supers do point blanc that let oponent's recover, also it costs only 2 Bars! And it does crazy dmg, does 10k just as his final flash but that one is 3 bars, I honestly think gamma burst may be top 3 Best supers (non ults) in-game, and I don't know which other chars have it. But it is crazy good, combined with blue Vegeta perma install he gets for 5 skill points, it does 12k raw and in short combos, just pure unadulterated guaranteed dmg. But of course tech like this gets buried in the sea of actual cheese stuff this Game has. Everyone deemed Bluegeta a Bad pick cause his skill points abilities are Bad, no wild sense, no insta spark, no after image, no explosive Wave, no Ki recharge, nothing, and on top of that he is a 3 bar health char, and I kinda agree he lacks in the skill abilities. But his gamma burst is so good that he is worth a Pick for this alone. Try it, I had a blast playing him with my hommies offline, they didnt know what hit em lol, their súper counters couldnt do squat. Just a quick 3 hit combo into sweep into point blanc gamma burst and 15k health was gone lol, bluegeta is fun. Oponent can do a Vanish for the gamma burst after stuns but it has to be timed perfectly and nobody Dodged it that day Even tho I told them (time a Vanish bro). So it is proven to work. And it is still guaranteed no Vanish no nothing after a blowback or smash finish anyways.
Play to have fun, not to have a cool record and you'll see how everything shifts. If needed take a overpowered character yourself

The fact you can just spam supers with virtually zero downside is such an awful design decision imo. You can charge super fast and as soon as you have decent range you can just do it over and over and over and over. It's not fun at all. I know there's counter systems in place to deal with ki attacks but again, it's not fun. I really have to perfectly dodge and counter this dude who is just mashing 1 or 2 buttons non-stop? Yeah...Cool game.

Yep, I decided playing ranked after weeks (cause of story mode) and now I am hardstuck in B5 cause everyone constantly counters me. Those Z-Ranks that headed in the game early like in the video, do not do a ounce of proper defence.

Two easy fixes: 1) double the cast time of instant sparking. 2) allow for LP gain even if your opponent disconnects.
Instant Sparking litterally breaks the game in so many ways. Its so good that it punishes people for playing well the entire fight because you can get your ass beat, get 6 skill counters, and just 2 tap people. You are also punished if you knock a spark abuser too far

easiest fix would be just to make skill counts go up as fast as they did in BT3 and not make them go faster while taking a beating or vanishing. It's so true that you get punished for simply playing well because you can piece someone the whole match and take them down to 2 health bars just to see them insta-spark and ult your ass, worst thing is how they're already at 4 or 5 after being whooped all game while you're still up to just 2 and you can't do nothing about it. I'm so sick of fighting z Brolys because they pick his base form for lower pd and in 20 secs game time I've already given them his LSSJ form with an extra health bar by BEATING them and to close the deal it's insta spark and his bs ult which takes 2 bars. Of course they switch him off right after and when he comes back he's already at full hp because characters that are standing out for some reason recover whole bars and not just the bar they're at like in BT3. It's like this game wants to force you into being an impaired spammer because if you try comboing your opponents instead of using supers you're just dealing lower damage and helping them farm points for forms, after strike and sparking.
Bardock does have the best instant sparking but he can’t abuse of his ult like Z Broly or Kefla. That skill is easily god tier but you still have to pull off most of the work, you can’t 2 tap people with him
You can counter wildsense by using a beam or blast attack. They will vanish inside the attack and take full damage
The problem with Z ranks is that at least 50% of them got there by rage quitting or abusing cheese on the early days of the game, since noone really knew how to deal with stuff.
Dude I actually fought that Z rank dude at the start of the video yesterday and recorded the fight. He was SSJ4 Gogeta… I almost beat him with Bardock, but he won. At least he wasn’t straight up spamming against me like he did against you.

You know what’s so sad about this game. BT3 was already perfect the way it was. Ki sickness after ultimates, no supers hitting on the ground, no unreactable INSTANT UNBLOCKABLE ULTIMATES (easily the dumbest thing in the game bar none), blast stocks did not come as quickly and no Super Perception (the 2nd most stupid mechanic in the game, extremely high reward for extremely low risk. You can literally hold the damn button while getting comboed and combo back)

Which absolutely should happen I'm surprised that how disappointing this game is in some aspects and how great it is in others. Shenron being very disappointing is one thing and the lack of stages and characters is another. The fact that we are missing the dragon Ball stage and the GT stories, which will undoubtedly be sold back to us as DLC. And the old soundtrack is being sold back to us instead of doing what the older games would have done and probably given us the music for free or as an unlockable with a wish. It's actually downright disrespectful how modern gaming is where they have the data for the old characters in the game, you just get access to them by giving extra money. Now you're going to end up spending probably an extra $100 on this game that you already got for $70. But the problem is everyone is so hyped and they like it initially that they don't care. They've been waiting on this for about 20 years.

However, with good timing and prediction, not only does it not stop your skill point gain but also give the blink into an advantage spot.
Rewarding skilled application and allowing lesser skilled application but at a cost.
As for strike, make it so instead of spamming afterimages, make it so a reactive successful use basically sets up a combo with a strong hit or if used against a super, give you ki to throw one right back at them.
That'd set up a badass scenes where if you use it at the perfect time. You basically punish a spammer and throw it right back.

From the beginning they should have made a ranked mode designed with specific features for ranked, in fact that would do what I expected, 2 online modes, the casual one would be completely normal without restrictions, but the ranked for me had to reward timing, combos, synchronization, counters, strategies, all types of movement and all types of guards, that would be competitive, and the gameplay would not be based on "whoever reaches full power first does the ultimate attack and wins".
and before anyone tells me “budokai tenkaichi shouldn’t be modified to be competitive, those have never been competitive” bruh that’s because we’ve never had a mode that was literally called “ranked” before

Although I personally don’t have that much of an annoyance towards Instant Sparking, a few ways I think it could be reworked is:
1: Once activated, whether it’s interrupted or not, take away the stocks
2. After Instant Sparking, character should have Ki Sickness similar to BT3 (making you charge slower and gain stocks slower)
3. A bit unrelated but, successful Super Counters should provide a stock, whilst taking away a stock from opponent. This could make for it being more rewarding than just interrupting a combo.
S counter is broken already and you want to buff it more? it breaks any combo you might be in and can be used in vanish wars too, people do stupid shit and instead of being punished with a combo up their asses they S counter and its all good. even if its not the easiest to pull it definitely its not has hard as it should be and its free.

@@JohnGlow2 No it's intended. You get skill points when you lose a health bar. It's why sudden insta-spark comebacks are so common in this game with high-HP characters. They lose 3 health bars, go insta spark, do 25k damage for free, and then go insta spark again.

At least his ult isn’t cheap and he can’t just spam it. I don’t like instant sparking but the kefla was the problem. They got beat up all game and got rewarded for it by doing two ults and winning.

Bardock Instant Sparking + Explosive Wave Skill and He gains Super Armor in Sparking. Bardock is definitely cracked as well as a character. People don't be wanting to admit when they're character is top tier though

This addresses is one of the issues I have with Sparking Zero. A lot of beam ultimates aren't really ultimate but ranged grabs. So the moment you get hit by that first one you can't vanish out or do anything about it like you could in BT3. You can't even do an explosive wave in the middle of getting comboed up by those blasts. They also change some attacks that were initially blast until rush attacks like piccolo's hellzone grenade. If you miss that first ball you're not going to get the rest of the attack off while in the older game you just had everyone surrounded and if it hit, it hit. It's like they wanted to guarantee that some moves hit entirely and you can enjoy the cinematics, but it made the gameplay suffer as a result because now, you just look for the one move to dodge. Or you get ki spammed into a ranged grab ult.
It's so reassuring and frustrating at the same time seeing other people suffering from the same BS I do. From my exp, not only are they higher rank most of the time but also play top tier characters. As a Tapion main (or any other lower dp/tier character for other people) you already have to work harder to make as few mistakes as possible since our dmg output is just worse and 1 ultimate from them is almost always a death sentence. And these assholes not only have the audacity to rage quit, they also are fully aware that they don't lose points and you're gaining any in turn. It's frustrating enough that they don't give us more points for beating stronger characters in an unbalanced game. I quit ranked because of it for the past weeks because I am sick of these childs who can't take an L or run the set most of the time. If they don't penalize those players at least marker them with a symbol that implies many disconnects and give us the choice to refuse those players. They rly need to change a lot for online.

It's very possible you did get the points, the display is very broken and sometimes going back to main menu or rebooting the game will make it display the correct amount, went from S1 to Z by simply rebooting the game after a match despite it saying i was still in S1 lol.

You should try vegito blue or another character with Full Power, it counters sparking mode because you get a cutscene and its faster, so you keep the pressure up

I was stuck at B1-B2 for a while and kept running into ssj4 Gogeta, super vegito, lssj Broly, ssj Kelfa, and both ui Goku’s all spamming ki blasts, instant sparking, ultras, or all 3. I started using Beerus to see if instant sparking is really that easy to take advantage of and it is lol. Certain abilities absolutely can and will carry you in this game and bandai namco needs to fix it cause there’s a reason the same characters with the same abilities are being used in ranked

Had a guy cheese me with a stupid rush from bardock every 5 minutes. Once the second round started, and I won, he rejected my request for another rematch.
I also encountered some players like that today, they want to be in the top ranks and they don't even know how to really fight because they resort to a dirty and stupid playstyle, but they are there because they do, and more and more players do it because it's really hard to counter them, and by the way, if you manage to defeat them, they cut the connection, and what do they get as punishment? A pat on the back, and they keep screwing people who really want to take the game seriously.
Cutting the connection should count as surrendering to your opponent, and give you your well-deserved victory points, plus, it should take points away from the one who left, they're more likely to turn off the internet, to lose the signal legitimately, there's no reason not to penalize this, it's competitive, activating your maximum power instantly takes points away from you and not waiting for it to activate to take them away, this way they make these sick people's neurons work a little harder, and make L1 L1 counterattack have a greater stunning impact when countering Ki bursts (because you can also counter Ki bursts), since they recover very quickly, back off, and keep spamming, although few are those who think about backing off, because really, they are very stupid people and the best option is to hit them while they do this to you.

You can block kefla ult and if you get hit with ki blasts just revenge counter, also try to fly around yo avoid any possible stagger , i reached z rank realizing this

The difference is that Base Kefla has an extra 4 health bars with completely higher stats than the rest of the roster. Something bardock does not have. On top of that, she also has two transformation buffs, one giving insta-spark at only 3 bars with an explosive wave type ultimate.

Hilarious sad fact about Kefla mains.. They spam a move that says "Im the best in the world" as many times as they can per battle and yet their actually skill level is probably ranked amongst the absolute worst in the world.

It really is the best dbz game ever if you sit down with a friend and agree to play honest characters , it’s quite rare online though as often even the good players that act honest at first have roshi sat in the back waiting ( afterimage into ⚡️suprised attack)

Ranked without items is very very hard to deal with most cheeses , Cheese characters have way too much advantage with no items there no realistic way to beat them unless you are way way better than them , with items depending on your build you can always keep pressure to never let them go into sparking and even if they do there way more chance of survival, the only problematic Item is "God ki" which is mandatory technically and open some of other cheeses , but once you learn to play around it is way way better than ranked with no items, without items your hands are tied, with items there is always a fighting chance, as Z-rank player and someone that played BT3 to death , I think playing without items is awful in this game
What items you recommend? And what should i watch out for? Im a future trunks sword main

@@Jozai610 god of destruction training, light body, miracle master, guard master, god ki. Last two optional you go more Hp or add something that reduce ki for your playstyle, never add more damage they are barely noticeable

Yeah the other day i made a UI Goku rage quit as yamcha and android 16 player. Then i made a gogeta quit with yamcha. The online is rough, people don't have fun anymore. It's just win, win, win.
Wow, you're an amazing player, bo. I'm playing singles, maining Turles and for the life of me I can't level up and move past B5. I, more or less, know the mechanics but it looks like I have a great issue with blocking - my opponents seem to automatically turn to face me when I'm behind them but it's not the case for me... I don't know if you're supposed to hold the directional button while you block or it's the matter of some kind of assist in the control options? My winrate's like 20% and for some reason the game doesn't lower my rank thus I don't really face opponents who are, similarly to me, shit at the game. xD
With that being said, it's a joy to watch a low class warrior like Bardock to beat up these busted ass characters. :D
Yeah. We ain't looking for 'balance' per se but tweaks to award skilled play and less rewards for cheese. So close to being my favorite game uet so far
