Adding audio to a Google Form is a way to create a listening comprehensive type exercises. I will take you through some simple Google Form settings in order to create a quiz so the audio file can be added. To make the recording I am using my favourite tool Vocaroo.com which is the easiest way to make a quick video and it is completely free. Adding the audio to the Google Form is very easy as well as the process of creating the questions and answers in the quiz. The only thing to remember is that the audio opens up in another page. Google Forms does the marking which is very efficient, once your students completed and submitted the questionnaire they can see the corrections immediately.
You can also add your own video into a Google Form and to do that I will use Screencast-o-matic which is another free technology where you can record yourself over an image, PowerPoint slide, graph, table or any anything else that you want to talk about. The video can be then uploaded onto TH-cam but before you do that you can add extra information to the video like a title or privacy level so other people on TH-cam don't have access to it. Then your video can be shared on Google Form for your students only. This could be another way of creating a quiz for your students, adding questions and answers is very easy.
Google Forms can be used with different technologies and it is a greet tool for language teachers to be used to create exercises for the students. It can be combined with other tools for example; to make an audio you can use Vocaroo.com or to add a video you can use Screencast-o-matic. You can create a quizzes to get your students to practice speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary of the language they are learning. It makes the classes more engaging, interesting and fun.

Russell, do you recommend using quizzes like this in a remote synchronous class? For example, you would share the link to the quiz in the chat, students then take the quiz, and then you can share results when they're all done with the quiz? Or would this be cumbersome, and possibly Zoom polls are better? I'm thinking of this for a short, three-question listening activity during class. Thank you!

Heidi, for sure I would do it. Make sure there are a substantial number of questions, no point in getting them to jump off to the Google Form if only couple of questions to answer. In that case a Zoom Poll is better

Great video, Russell , i'm wondering how nik Peachey does his dictation exercises, like this and where he sources other voices ....coz students don't want to just hear your voice?

Contact Nik. I guess he is using a text to voice tool. He know many more technologies that I do!!
