Overall, it was not a bad movie and Hugh Grant was indeed great, but the final act / ending almost killed it for me and for my husband. Also, we agree with your point of view about how faith should be used by people: act first, pray later! 🦊🎤🤘🏻🏳⚧🏳🌈🇧🇷+🐺🎹🎼🤘🏼🇧🇷
I really enjoyed Heretic as an Truely tense Psychological Thriller. Hugh Grant should be in the running for awards season for his amazing performance in this but considering the snobby the Oscars are but that is an long shot I hope happens
I'm sure somebody has said it already. But another take is that Sister Paxton did not get out of that basement. She's having the hallucinations they referenced earlier.
#bobrossedition Some people theorize that not only the survivor girl hallucinated the butterfly, but her escaping the house was all in her mind, while she was dying.
I saw Heretic in theatres and loved it. I wonder if Count Jackula noticed the blatant quotation of Zhuangzi in Heretic by Hugh Grant’s character who doesn’t reference him by name, but instead as “a Chinese philosopher” when talking about the butterfly dream. Was Hugh Grant trying to bullshit his captives by quoting one of the co-founders of Taoism without crediting it as one of the famous world religions? Cause I feel like treating Zhuangzi as just a philosopher was part of Hugh Grant’s manipulation that seldom gets brought up in discussions of this movie. #BobRossEdition
I also knew that Hugh Grant could play a villain. My friends back in the days of him only doing romcoms said I was wrong and he didn't have the talent. But I could always see him as a Hannibal Lecter type. Who's laughing now, high school friends? #BobRossEdition
#BobRossEdition I really loved the beginning of the movie and the general setup. Grant is absolutely phenomenal, no question. Worth seeing for him alone. I do feel that it should have gone deeper into the theology arguments more. It was too, as was said by Barnes, dime-store philosophy. The ending really did let me down. It was an A24 film, and it involved "the one true religion." I was expecting something more like The Void, and it just turned out... to have a far more mundane ending (no spoiler). I was like "Oh. Oh... That's it? Really? Aw." I really did like the film overall, but felt it could have been so much better.

Hugh Grant roping Radiohead, Monopoly, and Jar Jar Binks into the religious conversation was awesome.
Agreed

I wouldn't go that far, but interesting theory!

#BobRossEdition this movie sounds fantastic

It is fun to see Hugh Grant in roles you don´t really expect him in. Same with him being the bad guy in the DnD movie.

I really enjoyed this film. Creepy Hugh Grant was a breath of fresh air. Topher Grace was an unexpected appearance.
#BobRossEdition Looking forward to this.
I am, in fact, the #BobRossEdition of what came before me - new and improved!
Much like Hugh Grant's career choices of late.
There are no mistakes just happy little accidents to unthrone the true oppressors. Goodbye and God bless. #BobRossEdition
#BobRossEdition this movie was just amazing, as a former Catholic it was also cathartic.
#BobRossEdition I am looking forward to seeing a devious Hugh Grant. Definitely gonna give it a watch. Thank you for another fun video guys!
#BOBROSSEDITION!
