Love what you’ve done with this… your colour choices are unique to you. The texture on the mountains perfection. Really appreciate your explanations of what you are doing and why. It’s comfortable being in your world. Thank you for your generosity. …… from Australia.
Great artist Turner Vinson I have seen several videos of you on you tube, where you demonstrate your technique in the practice of painting. His technique is amazing with big paint slurries turning the end result into a wonderful painting, these big paint slurries enchant me, congratulations.
Have been binge watching you. Better than Netflix. It’s admirable how your emotional connection to your scene guides you. Most likely how Van Gogh painted. Truly a compliment in my eyes. Vinson Van Gogh.
i like the explanation at the first as to what you are focused on... plus the stick.... i like the stick. lol. And as usual, you kill it man... so good.
Really enjoyed the commentary with this one Turner. I could feel you putting in those trees and the difficulty in getting those thin tree lines on that thick paint. The sky and clouds were screaming for more impasto, but hey that's just me perhaps you were aiming for a contrast. Nice foreground too. Well done.
What a special, attractive, slightly mysterious/eerie place that is ... almost 'intimate' and strangely cozy too (alone with and ín the wild, thát feeling you know). I can really feel that emotional connection of yours, I think I can kind of ’smell' that place ... feel the same heat ( the bugs too... unfortunately) Nice, really engaging work, clear explanations too. Your motivation = very clear in this particular work. Great emotional attachment ... Bravo, well done Turner Fan
Really enjoyed watching this painting progess Turner, I like the way you bounce around the painting adding to and taking away elements, love the heavy impasto, you paint with a lot of confidence its great to watch.
Another beautiful painting man! The composition really came alive through out the vast majority of this video, but turned into something magical in the end. Well done, keep up the awesome work brother! You are truly an inspiration
thank you, Jim! I can be tricky to keep everything from turning to mud. One of the things that keeps it from getting muddy is that I'm placing strokes and not fiddling with them too much after they're down. And if I am working back over another area, I usually work thickly over it. If you do find your colors getting muddy, try to use less thinner. I see that happening with some folks. And the thickest areas of this painting could easily take a few weeks to dry!
A lot of pieces from this show are no longer available, but I do have some of them available out of my studio. The current work that I have at this gallery is on their website, with prices. artfocusfineart.com/artist/turner-vinson

Vinson Van Gogh.
Wow, Eliza, it's wonderful to hear that. It's very true, and sometimes hard to verbalize that emotional connection to the scene. Thank you so much!
I enjoyed watching you paint this. The location reminds me of Cerro Grande New Mexico. The fire there left a similar view. Thanks!
Your paintings remind me of Walt Gonske’s! Beautiful, loose, expressive and free. Great job!
An exciting painting, lot's of energy captured.
thank you, thank you!!

thanks for the encouragement!
I LOVE THIS PAINTING...thank you
Your painting is beautiful
Love that you are including the burned trees. Artists need to reflect the climate disasters to help our culture come to grips.
Magnificent! It seems that you sculpted with oil paint. Your style is beautiful.
thank you, Cynthia
I love this one Turner. That’s quite a name to live up to 😉
thanks, and I'm not even gonna try to live up to the name!

Wow! Love your videos- how do you keep it from turning to mud? How long does it take for a painting like this to dry?

Would love to see an artist painting the actual forest fire as it burns. Beauty and horror.
