Hi there. After i saw your video, i ordered an anbernic😄. Could not get an M8. And your key upgrade looks awesome. I would buy the final version😉. Greetings from germany
Hey, got an RG353V and a teensy. Got an adapter to plug my keyboard in. I'm thinking I need to launch the terminal by pressing Alt + F2, then type in what it says on the M8C github, while connected to wifi. Is that all that needs doing? Do I not need to specify the ports folder? I'm unclear on that part
I'm struggling to get the RG351V to power the teensy. It could be the lead is faulty. What lead did you use and what is in the other USB C? The red cable? Txxxx
Do all the combinations of keys for shortcuts work on the RG? I can see you navigate with shift+arrows but what about the others (like option+edit to erase something for instance)
If anyone is using M8 headless, please can you tell me where I need to save audio files for them to be visible? I'm using a raspberry pi with teensy 4.1 if that helps!!
Hey, awesome project! I wanted to order a m8 but live in a country were importing tech is hard. With this you're combining the MJKJ RG351V with a teensy and those mechanical keys and you don't depend on any external hardware, is that right?? I never understood if one could build their own m8 with a teensy and some electronics or a computer is always needed...
if you want to put samples on the SD-card, do you have to pull the card out of the teensy and put it into an SD-card reader ? or does the teensy-headless-setup also work as an "SD-card reader" ? because I cannot find any folder if I attach the teensy to my laptop, thanks ....nice work ! would be great if I would be able to do a similar thing 🙂 ...how much did you pay for the aenbernic ? I think around 130 Euros ?!?
@@michaelwirtz5420 oh ok, why does it mean loose audio out? The sound doesn’t come from rg351v headphone jack and midi don’t use usb port ? I thought about using a usb midi interface.
Hi Michael, thanks a lot ! You inspired me to buy an RG351v and it is great ! I just wanted to know where you purchased your usb cable, if you’re so kind to give me a hint ? 😍
Really nice work! Do you manage to use external monitor with it? Just need to plug it via USB and use touchdesigner? And also, is your 3D printable keyboard file is available somewhere?
I haven't tried the touch designer with this setup. But I don't think that the RG351v will Connect to the touch designer over the second usb port. The file is not available cause it's not final.
@@michaelwirtz5420 thanks a lot for your answer. I don't understand what you mean "The file is not available cause it's not final." So there would be no way to use the RG351v and monitoring it to another screen? or am I missing something?
@@michaelwirtz5420 of the RG? Damn nice solution. I wonder how much space could be saved by stripping the entire RG casing down and making a single overall case.. hmmmm
@@michaelwirtz5420 gotcha, lucky! is there any way you might consider sharing the stl for this if you still have it? I would love to print my own little keypad for it :O
Daaamn that's some serious FrankenM8 work buddy! excellently executed, I absolutely love it 🤩
Could you make a how to video on how to build this? I would love to buy an m8 but they are sold out
Amazing stuff. Love the RG351V. What a nice project!
This is wild.
Great job! Is there any way you could share the STL for that enclosure/overlay?
This is brilliant!!! Good work, I’m inspired!
Nice! Hope you eventually release the STL :) Can you also have midi out with this setup?
Lovely mod and lovely track to boot! Great work!
great example, short an sweet. Thank you.
Noice
M8 is a great piece of tech, would be even better if they release a sources and not just blobs for headless version

Did you get it working?

Any news on the tutorial and STL file Michael? Would love to recreate your device but have no idea how hard it is. Kind regards
Hello, Is there any way to make an audio input for sampling? And what about audio latency?
Are the STL files for the layout available for download anywhere?
Do you have a link to the teency case you are using here?

Hey! Just wondering if you've released the file anywhere? Cheers!
Any chance of sharing the fusion file?
Hello. Midi sync works with second usb?
@@ewdaks i never tried this. Got an original M8 so dont know.
This is amazing!

I bought this cable amzn.eu/d/fzHdKNT
You have to connect this into the right usb C port. Left side is for charging.
A new lead fixed this problem and I'm up and running x
Dude did you chop up your abernic for this or is it reversible??
Can you provide a link to the STL or a place to buy it?
It is a prototyp my friend.
That’s fine, I have a 3d printer so can use it as a great starting point.

Yes of course. All shortcuts work.
So no chances we're getting the stl file?

Maybe can you share the instruction to made It?
Check on GitHub for the rg351v, m8c and arkOS version. Easy installation.
The keys are just soldered to the pads on the rg351v.
@@michaelwirtz5420 Soldered directly on pcb?
@@NKL_Calcifer yes
Could you tell me how it all works or give a link to a resource.
Check on Google an GitHub RG351V ArkOs and M8C both have installation description.

There is no other hardware needed.
Do you have any more info on how you wired up these mechanical buttons? I'd love to do something similar :)
Hi. That's super easy. I solder wire to the key switches and these to each side on the pad from the Rg351V buttons.

Hello, does the midi out works with RG351V ?
In think its possible, but you will loose audio out and need an dac for Audio.
But you can mod the teensy for MIDI out.

Wow that's amazing.
Do you know if this could work with non-RK3326 devices, if they can run Ark OS or is the chip a requirement?
I guess it will work with modification in the os and the m8c.
What's the battery life like?
Four to six hours.
sell these please!
