- The United Nations Security Council has failed to pass a United States draft resolution calling for, but not demanding, a ceasefire in Israel’s continuing war on Gaza after two permanent members chose to veto it.

Even if the resistance were to comply the occupiers would have no obligations to leave Palestine, allow aid in, or even stop leveling building if they "believe" that someone in it is part of the resistance. This resolution was vetoed by China, Russia and Algeria because it allowed the Israelis to attack Rafah. Unlike the previous two resolutions where an unconditional ceasefire was requested, this one was had conditions attached to it which were unacceptable to the rest of the world. So, the headlines must provide context as to why this resolution failed.
