I'm not the commenting type but whats funny is I was thinking "I hope there's a new Joseph Hogue video today". I love animated videos for the learning aspect for sure. But you are the face of the channel. Don't take away the personal aspect. Maybe mix some animations in but don't keep yourself out of the videos

These animated examples make it easier to follow along with the ideas and strategies you are explaining. Especially if I was a beginner and that was the first video I ever clicked on investing, I would be hooked and immediately! Thanks for all the great content!

In my opinion, venturing into a good investment is not just a strategy for generating passive income but a profitable saving method for future expenses. Those who fail to make the right decisions early in life end up regretting it. Nevertheless, investing can be difficult and risky doing it solely, For this reason, I advise seeking help from professionals(financial advisors). It’s not just watching videos and reading investment books the challenge is using them well.

The market doesn't have to be a rollercoaster if you know what you're doing. There are plenty of opportunities to make good profits in the current market. If you're not very knowledgeable about the market, simply buy and hold strong companies with good earnings, or consult advisors about ETFs and actively managed funds. With guidance, I am up by 418% in one year.

I love Canadian banks, and yes time is biggest part of the investing puzzle. If you google exactly that how does time effect my investments you will read that almost all stocks and sectors can earn you lots of money over 20 years or longer. I favour dividend stocks but you need some tech stocks also. I mean if you bought apple at $50 a share 20 years ago you would have a nice chunk of cash now for sure.

I am a little confused. I don't understand why people buy gold in times of uncertainty. Gold has value, but so does any company. So I don't see how holding a stock of an established, growing company could be any less of a safe haven for my dollars than gold. If the dollar goes down loses 35% of it's value, it seems like stock prices will (artificially) go up, and the stock value will also go up. Then if the dollar climbs in power, won't the dollar value attached to my stock go lower?

Yeah, a lot of companies have been cutting/postponing their dividends. I wouldn't jump out though. Stock prices have fallen after dividend cuts so you're just missing out on the upside if the dividend comes back. Really it comes down to whether you still think the company has a good future. Using a savings account is good when accumulating your emergency fund but once ur done saving enough for a few months of expenses keep that in your savings and slowly every week start adding money to your stocks and or bond portfolio typically it’s best to utilize a Roth IRA for tax purposes lmk if this helps @champvk

    • @janshuster1426

      1) contribute as much as your company will match ( but not a penny more into a 401k
      2) max out a ROTH IRA
      3) If you can afford to save even more, put it into index ETF's that you don't trade inside a taxable brokerage account.
If you own the same ETF's inside your ROTH account you can rebalance by buying and selling there.

I think I'd go with a very small investment in the shares though. If they bankrupt, you're probably not getting much back on the bonds anyway and if they don't bankrupt, shares will produce much better return.

Gold and Silver are basically worthless investments...
"...a dollar invested in bonds in 1801 would be worth nearly a thousand dollars by 1998, a dollar invested in stocks that same year would be worth more than half a million dollars. All this is in real terms, taking inflation into account. Meanwhile, a dollar invested in gold in 1801 would by 1998, be worth just 78 cents. The phrase, “as good as gold” can be misleading as the phrase “money in the bank”, when talking about the long run."
