You might be slow to you, but you're still faster than 99% of the rest of us 😂😂 I had similar break and like you my metalwork was bashing on my cranks too. I bought a Space Brace 2.0 ankle brace. It helped no end, stopped me catching the metal and helped support my ankle, which in turn helped build my confidence back up. Cool vid, thanks.

Thanks for the useful tip! I will need to try one out and see if it helps 🙌
Have you had your metalwork removed since then or is it still in?

@@lachlan_blair I had a couple of screws, that were coming through the skin, removed after about a year, but otherwise everything else is still in 8 years later. That was a simple operation and short recovery. I was told after that, for me personally, it was amputation or leave the rest of the metal in for life, although I did feel they were saying that just to get rid of me 🙄🙄 You're much younger than I was when I had my accident though, so hopefully yours will heal100% and taking out the metal might be easier, younger bones and all that??? A friend of mine with similar break again (we're an accident prone bunch, never ride with us 😉😉) she has recently had her metalwork removed about 5 weeks ago. Again, she was told the metalwork was for life, but she found a specialist who wasn't phased by it at all. The recovery process after removing it all does appear to be about the same as when it was put in though, so quite a daunting prospect. It'll be interesting to see how she gets on longterm 🤔🤔On the plus side, it's a close call now as to which has more titanium parts, me or my bike 😂😂😂😂 Hope you continue to heal well and strong 😁

@@scottgoodski That's really interesting, leaving it in sounds like a far better option than amputation! Does sound like they were keen to say anything to discharge you though 😂 - The nail in my femur is in for life, even though the Austrian surgeons who put it in said it should come out after a year.. but it seems the UK deals with metalwork differently. Luckily that metalwork doesn't cause me any issues so not removing it has saved some surgery and recovery! When the surgeons in Cyprus put this plate on my tibia they thought it might need taken out after a couple of years so it will be interesting to see what the surgeons here say at my next appointment. I don't really fancy anymore months of recovery! Sounds like you and your friends are just as accident prone as me! 😂 It's always best to try and make sure your bike always has more titanium than your body 😂

Must have been so good to get out riding tech again! I can definitely appreciate walking the drops when coming back from injury 😂
