Today I talk about Roblox games and communities that were once great, thriving, and mostly wholesome; that later became toxic or ruined lol. no hate to meep city adopt me or prison life ummmmmmmm
I miss when roblox wasn't so toxic. Noone was afraid of being judged and everyone did their own thing, now everyone tries to fit into these lame stereotypes and end up being toxic and overwhelming lol
I miss going back to 2018 when meepcity wasn’t a problem. I used to play it every day for hours, until it was ruined. Once it became bad, I stopped playing it. I would do anything to go back to that time.
I’ll be honest, meepcity was always bad. Even back in 2017 there were parties called, “Have six with gf in bed” or the infamous, “have six and dangle ur nuts on gf” party
The one thing roblox is missing today is the wholesomeness it used to have. I feel like it was so easy to make friends back then, everybody was so nice and wholesome. And i miss that.
yeah, but on some games and on rare occasions, there's still nice people in the games. like for instance, on pls donate a guy donated me 100 robux cuz he liked my avatar
It's the fact that I remember these games in their prime all too well before corruption. Meepcity and Adopt me suck now and for many reasons they've forgotten what childhood they created for some individuals

I remember playing meep city with my siblings before it got toxic. Times have gotten pretty rough as of recently, and it sucks to see my childhood memories turned into this.
crazy thing is, roblox always had that dark side to it, but now its more mainstream. and the sad thing is its most likely because the people they see in games act like they are so badass or their life environment influenced them. its upsetting to see as somebody who joined in 2016, where everything was friendly and colorful, just to see it all go down the drain 7 years later to be hateful, inappropriate and dark. (not saying it wasnt that way before, its just that it happens more often than back in 2016)
I feel the same, and I've also played roblox since 2016/2017. (I think I made my first account in like 2015/2016, pretty sure just 2016 though, and before Pokemon Brick Bronze got deleted I made another account and forgot about the previous account(s) until I remembered) I like to talk to other kids and see what their growing brains are imagining, but now that's just kind of... impossible, unless you play lesser-known roleplay games with a good player count in the weekends. I wish the community didn't grow up into toxicity to varying degrees, but that's how online games kind of fall, more or less a beginning of the end for kid-orientated websites. Due to too many teenagers. (and adults to various degrees)
Meeting a toxic player in a regular game back in the day was so rare, and if you did encounter one you could just go to a different server and you’d be fine. Almost all the weird and toxic stuff were kept to Roleplay games and groups, so if you avoided them you would be mostly in the clear. Now you can’t do anything without someone bypassing the chat filter and just letting the demon out.

Roblox was a wholesome game around when it wasn't entirely known too well. I played it around the 4th grade, about the time the game was very tame and simple, with ambitious creators and unique games all around. However people lost tact with the game, the game begun to Skyline in popularity and people couldn't keep up with the times, soon resorting to making repeats of unoriginal games. Original players from that era either quit or got banned. It happens to everything, nothing ages like wine, we all eventually decay.
3:55 I beg to differ. Adopt me was always a traumatic game. I remember being ten years old when my child said “I’m hungry” and then refused whatever innocent role play food I would give and said “mommy milky” and I left the game.
Same thing happened to me but in Meepcity, but I was roleplaying a baby and another baby was being fed by the mom like that, I just stood there awkwardly.
The thing is, it was these kids themselves who were playing normally, doing funny roleplays and not wearing bypassed clothing. As the years passed, they grew up, and most of their heads just went down the drain and decided to make roblox's community a worse ppace than before
I miss the days when you would hop on and see 3-10 guests per server. Tons of bacon heads, free loaded skins. Especially the number 8 guys. Oh those were the days

Roblox has became less played by kids and instead played by teenagers and even young adults. The increase of hangout maps and so forth gave it a nice spot to fester up. I think roblox has shown glimpses of its former self with innovated and new amazing games but now its became a haven for a way to make a quick buck, harass people and prey on children. The catalog is another major issue, roblox puts all of these truly inappropriate items and "limited" time items at the front of the store. Builders club got removed and replaced with a premium which some like but i personally think its just another way for roblox to get you to buy even more robux with discounted prices. I think overall the landscape has changed and kids now require more attention and also engagement. Why sit on a tycoon game when you can literally run tons of other and if not better games that are more enjoyable and can run on what ever hardware you have. The main reason why i ever started playing roblox was because all i ever had was crappy electronics to run it. LSS: Older Age Group, Roblox Greed, Social Media Attention, and higher demand for more time consuming and some times grindy games.

cap. the people playing are children. they seem far less social even though the people playing back then were also children. i believe the culprit has to do with modern children growing up extremely fast, especially due to tiktok and israel. not entirely roblox's fault. children from a mere 5 years ago are far better than children now. the degeneracy is ramping up, its a slippery slope. plus the clanning community used to be thriving, and its demographics are teenagers. it seems the average 14 year old on roblox has become degenerate and stupid, and there was a flood of 8 year olds that now hold even less intelligence of those past 8 year olds and are are all in brookhaven and simulators etc, containment games. youre telling me that if this version of roblox existed in 2010 with the same accessibility and was as popular as it is now, it would be the same? absolutely not. overall, this game fell off due ESG israeli investors and external factors such as the decreasing state of the world. it isnt just roblox that is suffering this change. everybody notices these changes in every facet of life. watch "the greatest story never told"
@@comlain2513 In no offense but this is poorly typed and hard to read. What does israel and tik tok have to do with anything? A lot of people would argue kids are growing up slower. Kids can now focus more on school and less on working and help supporting the family. Thus giving teens and younger adults more freedom and potential free time.
Ragdoll engine was probably one of the first games that had this type of change in audience. Around 2019 you would see it being played as intented, a Ragdoll engine, but as months pass you can't enter a single server without seeing cnps, slenders and cheaters :(
I really miss 2016 - 2018, it's really easy to make friends back in those years, I make friends through roleplaying and chatting with them, but now is not often seeing people roleplaying anymore...
Mainly, the real reason as to why I think Roblox went toxic is that, as more and more people found out about the game, they've most likely seen it from people who were already toxic to new comers, and they invited their friends to do it as well, and, well, most likely started developing new ways to do it more rude and painfully. Also considering how people who make things are extremely more advanced, and have figured out how to do advanced stuff- eh whatever, you get my point, it's mainly TH-cam that ruined Roblox.
Had a friend on roblox that was quite a bit toxic. She wasn't to me, mostly because I met her through roleplay, but I've seen random people gang up on a kid playing Brookhaven just for misspelling stuff. I also met a friend that.. let's just say.. was/is into undertale aus and had a thing for... tentacles.. I'm pretty sure. I'm glad to just have rediscovered minecraft singleplayer (and modding), Zen Koi 2 (I've always played that game as a kid on the phone and I still love it) and some other games, and decided to try my hand at writing, because I don't like socialization on online platforms that much anymore. Yes, to varying degrees, I still play Roblox, but I often look for games with VIP servers so I don't have to talk to anybody. Anyways, I guess have a good day/night.
I remember when playing prison life I was excited to escape with some other prisoners too, but when I did there wasn't like a "city" to "rob" as I excepted. Just I think an grocery and uninteractable apartment/houses which you couldn't do anything.
I really miss when everyone had their avatars really simple and not so- "emo" or "horny"... Just a cereal box body with colored limbs, and maybe a hat or a scarf to go with it.
I used to watch her videos all the time but one glance at her channel now and I see like 50 horror games and she became a Vtuber 😵💫 I still remember her first roblox video
I miss the old roblox, when online dating wasn't a thing and when everyone didn't judge from others avatars.. Espesically the old games and the old oof sound.. now old roblox games are dying like, work at a pizza place, royale high, break in. It's hard to see people become toxic:(
I think I played Roblox back in 2019 but my internet was so bad people were saying I was hacking and Roblox was just unplayable for me. What sweet timing I come back to Roblox now and see what has happened
I remember back in 2016 when online daters were mainly constrained to Roblox High School and 5 Star Hotel. Mostly roleplay games had this issue, but in games like Town Of Robloxia, it was less romance focused and more “Family roleplay where you just so HAPPENED to have both a mother and father who didn’t act like a couple at all. Just coparents who slept in the same room bc that’s all the kids who played that game knew couples did.”. Roblox High School had the high school romances and a LOT of sick twisted individuals… and 5 Star hotel was filled to the brim with NSFW roleplays. I noticed the mainstream change around 2017 when Robloxian High School came out and that dorm game became popular. A lot of MeepCity parties also had this issue, same with Tremity’s adopt and raise a cute baby and all the online dating based clones that brought with it, which I actually learned about FROM ALBERTSSTUFF. A lot of Japanese high school games came out and those were the romance roleplay HUBS. Royale high didn’t really have romance until like 2019. Around like 2020 the whole cnp slender online dating thing became a big problem with Roblox cracking down on the underground “Female shading” market which had been up since like 2015 but was mainly very popular with the Roblox High School crowd. By like 2019 online daters were in EVERY ROLEPLAY GAME or just game in general with the rise of games like Da Hood.

You guys are right, though it was mainly the playerbase that had the choice to bypass roblox terms or to play normally. So the fault was the creator's and the players.

a lot of old players are just growing up and going through different phases throughout their lives. i wouldn't say that's necessarily a bad thing but it's something to take account of. kids see trends, want to fit in and grow up, it's a cycle really, so i don't blame *some* of the things these players are doing
I joined back in 2017 and it was so much more fun back then. I used to play Adopt Me, Royale High and Meepcity all the time for the roleplays. I miss when it was mainly a kids platform because even if kids can be annoying sometimes they generally aren't that bad, unlike young adults and teenagers who feel like they need to start a fight over every small thing.

I think numerous troll youtubers/excessive trolling is what led to people desiring to be rude and terrible to others. The community stained itself, unfortunately.

And one of the devs stole a game in that early days, exploits and etc

1:56 another game that might end up like Meepcity is Bear Alpha. At first, the only problems in Bear Alpha were exploiters and scam bots, but now it’s not rare to find one or two six-year olds who think it’s cool to bypass the chat filter.
Fun fact daycare centre used to be popular and had z kind community but then people left it bc it stopped updating so people left it and tye games players become toxic and did weird things i miss 2018😢...

In Roblox there has always been toxicity/racism, but since the golden era began (20xx-2016) the community has only increased the levels of toxicity and racism, not only because of the weird people on the platform, but also because of the carelessness that moderators give the platform, roblox is not a safe place. You got a point because when I join a game on roblox it may have toxic people and good people sometimes I play non toxic games on the platform roblox but the results are that there's a lot of toxic people than non toxic people but the main problem on the platform is the reports that roblox is too lazy to do it and banned them for bullying and if it gets too out of hand and the person that they can get banned permanently

for some reason every time I join a game of prison life the server has devolved into the cops just shooting at any prisoner that dares exist at all inside the prison even if they haven't done anything. meanwhile the prisoners are just straight up using autoclickers on their guns to basically have a semi auto
It's honestly sad how it developed. I remember when me and my friends would host cosplay parties and would get a ton of people. All we did was cosplay and socialize, yet it was so fun.
My used-to-be favorite game from 2012 was Catalog Heaven, and it now had a problem with his toxic players torturing me with their exploits and all such since 2020. Catalog Heaven had been dying lot long ago since 2021. It became a lot worse as non-fighting games had players who harassed and said horrible things to people for no discernible reason. I was one of the victims of harassment and bullying on Roblox, which turned me into a terrible person who started bypass swearing and complaining about the bullying I receive, and then I got banned numerous times for doing something like that. Bypassing Roblox's filters became very, very rare as of now.
roblox was always a little bit toxic, it is admittedly worse now, but even back then it had a little bit of toxicity, we were just younger back then, so we enjoyed *everything* more than we do now.

Man, MeepCity was one of the first games I got obsessed with when I joined Roblox. I would go there and and do wholesome little skits with friends. I spent my first robux on this game to buy a big mansion house. It really breaks my heart to see what it’s become. RIP the wholesome days of MeepCity, you brought 10 year old me so much joy.
In all honesty, Roblox has always been toxic and had toxic games. Back in the day it was things like the iron cafe, then all those club games came next. Now its just this, the toxicity hasn't really grown just migrated to more impressionable games which makes it worse.
I enjoyed it awhile it lasted. I always used roblox recorder for almost every time i played a game, so i look back at those clips a lot. Its actually crazy how different the community is now, i never realised that loll
I just joined a server on Roblox and there were a lot of people dating and being naked and I tried to talk to everyone that they need to stop and they need to remember the old Roblox and bring it back but they just kept on acting toxic and saying stuff like they were cool, and they were never Bacons before this ever happened:(
idea: make a potion shop where each potion gives a random effect and give players a free trial of it, but here is the twist.The potions would turn them into monsters, invisible, goblins, and funny little creatures. Try to see if they could make a functioning society. (also give them a tool so they can build)
I do really miss the old Roblox when people aren’t toxic and friends were very easy to make but I do realise now that I was younger and of course I’m not going to feel the same as when I first started but I still play to this day.

The old roblox was more chill honestly. There weren't really arguments going on either (from what I've seen in the servers I joined in). Nowadays, people are just arguing with people (that haven't really done anything wrong) just because they think it's fun and that they want to. They're even doing it for attention as well.

I just want to know why they got rid of guests. Playing as a guest was why I made a roblox account in the first place
Truly were.
Roblox has became less played by kids and instead played by teenagers and even young adults. The increase of hangout maps and so forth gave it a nice spot to fester up. I think roblox has shown glimpses of its former self with innovated and new amazing games but now its became a haven for a way to make a quick buck, harass people and prey on children. The catalog is another major issue, roblox puts all of these truly inappropriate items and "limited" time items at the front of the store. Builders club got removed and replaced with a premium which some like but i personally think its just another way for roblox to get you to buy even more robux with discounted prices. I think overall the landscape has changed and kids now require more attention and also engagement. Why sit on a tycoon game when you can literally run tons of other and if not better games that are more enjoyable and can run on what ever hardware you have. The main reason why i ever started playing roblox was because all i ever had was crappy electronics to run it. LSS: Older Age Group, Roblox Greed, Social Media Attention, and higher demand for more time consuming and some times grindy games.

i believe the culprit has to do with modern children growing up extremely fast, especially due to tiktok and israel. not entirely roblox's fault.
children from a mere 5 years ago are far better than children now. the degeneracy is ramping up, its a slippery slope.
plus the clanning community used to be thriving, and its demographics are teenagers. it seems the average 14 year old on roblox has become degenerate and stupid, and there was a flood of 8 year olds that now hold even less intelligence of those past 8 year olds and are are all in brookhaven and simulators etc, containment games.
youre telling me that if this version of roblox existed in 2010 with the same accessibility and was as popular as it is now, it would be the same? absolutely not.
overall, this game fell off due ESG israeli investors and external factors such as the decreasing state of the world. it isnt just roblox that is suffering this change. everybody notices these changes in every facet of life. watch "the greatest story never told"

Kids can now focus more on school and less on working and help supporting the family. Thus giving teens and younger adults more freedom and potential free time.

Ragdoll engine was probably one of the first games that had this type of change in audience. Around 2019 you would see it being played as intented, a Ragdoll engine, but as months pass you can't enter a single server without seeing cnps, slenders and cheaters :(

Mainly, the real reason as to why I think Roblox went toxic is that, as more and more people found out about the game, they've most likely seen it from people who were already toxic to new comers, and they invited their friends to do it as well, and, well, most likely started developing new ways to do it more rude and painfully. Also considering how people who make things are extremely more advanced, and have figured out how to do advanced stuff- eh whatever, you get my point, it's mainly TH-cam that ruined Roblox.

Had a friend on roblox that was quite a bit toxic. She wasn't to me, mostly because I met her through roleplay, but I've seen random people gang up on a kid playing Brookhaven just for misspelling stuff. I also met a friend that.. let's just say.. was/is into undertale aus and had a thing for... tentacles.. I'm pretty sure. I'm glad to just have rediscovered minecraft singleplayer (and modding), Zen Koi 2 (I've always played that game as a kid on the phone and I still love it) and some other games, and decided to try my hand at writing, because I don't like socialization on online platforms that much anymore.
Yes, to varying degrees, I still play Roblox, but I often look for games with VIP servers so I don't have to talk to anybody. Anyways, I guess have a good day/night.

I remember back in 2016 when online daters were mainly constrained to Roblox High School and 5 Star Hotel. Mostly roleplay games had this issue, but in games like Town Of Robloxia, it was less romance focused and more “Family roleplay where you just so HAPPENED to have both a mother and father who didn’t act like a couple at all. Just coparents who slept in the same room bc that’s all the kids who played that game knew couples did.”. Roblox High School had the high school romances and a LOT of sick twisted individuals… and 5 Star hotel was filled to the brim with NSFW roleplays. I noticed the mainstream change around 2017 when Robloxian High School came out and that dorm game became popular. A lot of MeepCity parties also had this issue, same with Tremity’s adopt and raise a cute baby and all the online dating based clones that brought with it, which I actually learned about FROM ALBERTSSTUFF. A lot of Japanese high school games came out and those were the romance roleplay HUBS. Royale high didn’t really have romance until like 2019. Around like 2020 the whole cnp slender online dating thing became a big problem with Roblox cracking down on the underground “Female shading” market which had been up since like 2015 but was mainly very popular with the Roblox High School crowd. By like 2019 online daters were in EVERY ROLEPLAY GAME or just game in general with the rise of games like Da Hood.

I joined back in 2017 and it was so much more fun back then. I used to play Adopt Me, Royale High and Meepcity all the time for the roleplays. I miss when it was mainly a kids platform because even if kids can be annoying sometimes they generally aren't that bad, unlike young adults and teenagers who feel like they need to start a fight over every small thing.

You got a point because when I join a game on roblox it may have toxic people and good people sometimes I play non toxic games on the platform roblox but the results are that there's a lot of toxic people than non toxic people but the main problem on the platform is the reports that roblox is too lazy to do it and banned them for bullying and if it gets too out of hand and the person that they can get banned permanently

My used-to-be favorite game from 2012 was Catalog Heaven, and it now had a problem with his toxic players torturing me with their exploits and all such since 2020. Catalog Heaven had been dying lot long ago since 2021.
It became a lot worse as non-fighting games had players who harassed and said horrible things to people for no discernible reason. I was one of the victims of harassment and bullying on Roblox, which turned me into a terrible person who started bypass swearing and complaining about the bullying I receive, and then I got banned numerous times for doing something like that. Bypassing Roblox's filters became very, very rare as of now.

Man, MeepCity was one of the first games I got obsessed with when I joined Roblox. I would go there and and do wholesome little skits with friends. I spent my first robux on this game to buy a big mansion house. It really breaks my heart to see what it’s become.
