can't remember the model of the 664 Clark, that i trained on in NZ back in mid 1970s. It was a 2 stroke. I literally fell in love with the sound. later went on to 666, and a short run on 668's. 68s on the flat areas, was brilliant hauling big timber. 666 on the hills and mountains, was manouverable and loud, and very bloody dangerous. Loved every second of it. Fully Hydraulic, had to keep the foot on the floor to keep the pressure up.
@lexhawthorn I am a flatlander...I could only imagine logging in the hills/mountains like that.
I had a 664C with the detroit, that's the best winch you can get and itll pull about 5 times what you were moving - you just need those chains! Stay safe that Poplar takes a lot of loggers out. Cheers

Why is there three tires on backwards? They are directional 🤷♂️ my was born in Medow Lake 😊
It was bought like that...havent had the time to re-arrange them.
@@retrologging except that thanks
Why is it those tires aren’t wrapped in chains?
Bought the unit last fall and still am looking for a set. Hopefully get a pair soo
Poplar firewood??
Uughh..
When the snow crystallizes and has the consistency of salt that’s when it gets hard on the skidder. Even with chains, when it’s deep enough and doesn’t pack down, you start to hop and that’s when it can get really expensive.
I dont like poplar for anything but got to do something with it........
I love this. Please keep making videos
I don’t believe that’s a 353.
Would have never started at that temp ,doesn’t sound like Detroit and never seen him use starter fluid
@rickmcivor9068 it is a cummins 4BT 3.9...Purrs like a kitten, has power and start pretty well in cold weather
that poor starter. just use some ether as the factory manual calls for in low temps!?
Install an intake heater if you’re gonna work in those temps.
