Hey I absolutely loved this video. I'm used to snorkeling/diving at Blue Heron, which has a more predictable tide table, does this area have something similar? Or are you just hoping for the best when you go? Thanks again, love your content!
Hi and thanks for watching. Generally the water is best in the summer (more consistent). The water has been awful for a while now.. hoping to get better days soon. any wave action and it stirs up the fine sediments in the area of coral cove... it is better to go south county when its like that (Blue Heron is a good choice at high tide.
Great video! About what percentage of the time would you say the waters are calm enough for this kind of visibility? I am planning a trip for May--somewhere in this area--but we can only stay 10 days. What are the chances we would get to experience this water clarity? Thanks again for sharing the video!
Thanks! Truthfully not that often. because I travel during the summer, and winter tends to be more roughed up, I don't always find the perfect window for clarity at Coral Cove... but May great month for it to happen, so there is definitely hope!
most of the rocks start right at the water's edge. you can make your way out another 200 yards or so depending on the location until it runs into sand. from a few feet to maybe 10 feet depending on how far out you go and the tide. Coral cove is only good when the water is supper calm for a few days however... it gets very silty fast. Right now the ocean is all messed up... but hopefully it will clear up by next week for you :-)
I tried going there in June and July to shoot some video and the visibility was very poor. I hope I can catch this one on a good day some time. I finally got to see Bathtub reef on a clear day: th-cam.com/video/w-32Nb-AFK8/w-d-xo.html
Great job correctly labeling fish.

How far away is the reef from the shore, and how deep? I'm coming down next week on vacation and wanted to go. Also, awesome video!

Which camera did you use under water?
Right now I am using a Gopro 8 black, and an Olympus TG-5
@@ShawnMcCall Thanks for a quick reply.
What's the water temperature like there?
right now its about 74 degrees (in February)... but back in July, its usually in the mid 80's (nice and warm)
