In this clip, we have with us another all-star of The Ranveer Show - Dr. Siddharth Warrier. After talking to this man for one hour, I truly felt like I had explored the deepest parts of my brain. One of the most knowledgeable humans to appear on the show.
In this very special conversation, we discuss the world of plant medicine and drugs like never before. The perception of the world has changed in various categories. However, there are quite a few things that are misunderstood or wrongly judged. One such thing is drugs. Prescription drugs or OTC drugs are most commonly used all over. Then why do we have this closed perception of taboo topics when it comes to psychedelics and psychedelic drugs like Ayahuasca, Weed, LSD, and many others. On the show, we had a certified professional explain the neuroscience behind these substances. Dr. Siddharth Warrier is an expert neurologist, who breaks down the effects of drug usage and alcoholism. Enjoy this episode.
Dr. Siddharth Warrier also runs his own podcast and TH-cam channel from the ABCs of neuroscience to the most complex phenomenons.

I overdosed on Datura and nearly died. Was hospitalized for a week. I drank it as a tea 3 flowers I shredded. Started out feeling drunk. Then I lost sense of space. I thought I was gonna lean on my wall but my arm would go through it and I would fall. Then I had several conversations with people who weren't even in the room with me. I don't remember many details. I vomited and started struggling to breathe. I found my inhaler and my lungs opened up thank God. My foster mom found me and thought I was drunk until she realized I wasn't but I couldn't speak. I just rambled. That's when my memory stops. I was told I turned blue in the face and lips before the paramedics came and in that I was catatonic. When I came to I was in a hospital bed being supervised by somebody sitting beside my bed. I distinctly remember looking over and seeing an indoor plant on a bedstand near me and looking at my it it had transformed into a demonic face like in a cartoon where the character walks through cursed woods. It wasn't like being in on mushrooms or lsd....the demonic face didn't go away even after rubbing my eyes. I couldn't read for a week because my eyes were so dilated. It messed me up. For years I would see faces in a car from the corner of my eyes when I walked through parking lots that weren't there. I also for about the first year would talk out loud to myself even in public like a crazy homeless person. It took about 3 to 5 years until I fully recovered. DO NOT TAKE DATURA

As per Vamana Purana, Datura emerged from the chest of Lord Shiva when he drank the poison. Datura is poisonous and bitter. Datura fruit or flower is offered to the Lord symbolizes that we are surrendering and getting rid of all our bitterness, negativities, and toxicity like hate, jealousy, and anger.

I had a ssed, 2, 5, 10,, 20 ,,50 all the way to 100 and many times, smoking the flowers, seeds, leaves. I had good experiences only. I went with the intention of asking the spirit to awaken/be kind/improve knowledge. What would happen is, id fall asleep and wake up having a glowing expereince. The only thing was that my mouth would go dry. Would see bright hues of colours... i took a bus 16km across after the 100 seeds dose. The only weird thing that happened...and it was true..i saw a cyclops in the cloud. A person really with just one eye, at the centre. Other than that, it was kind to me. I bow down to it.. Was about 17 when a group of friends made me believe we were all going to try it. Instead, after I consumed it, the rest backed down, and I was treated as a sideshow for a while before abandoning me in a strange house alone for 8+ hours. I was well versed with hallucinogens, but this was on another level entirely, as I never considered once the hallucinations weren't real. Beset by waves of terror and calmness for the few hours, I settled into a sort of peace as I found real (not real) people to talk to who were reassuring. So glad I didn't wander away from the house. As others experienced, I couldn't read for a week, and lost my job over it. Never did it again, and warned many kids away from it. Nearly 70yo now.

    • @3-methylindole730
      @3-methylindole730 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I am trying to see the purpose of tripping on Datura or its relatives, it’s not like acid obviously where you genuinely can “expect” beneficial effects / outcomes as it’s a classical psychedelic. With nightshades it’s different though, as if they are supposed to show you some dark / “evil” contents. From what I’ve picked up, it seems to me that the use of Datura trips is minimal compared to LSD trips etc. generally / mostly. Do you have experience with it and how would you place Datura trips among other hallucinogenic entheogens? I have only had experience with classical psychedelics and not yet with those deliriant hallucinogenics which provide access to completely different kinds of dimensions. I mean, there’s got to be a reason for nightshades like Datura to have a rich history of human usage, particularly in a shamanic context and setting. Datura are relevant for these shamanistic cultures, it’s even featured as one of the various psychotropic plants which are on the statue of Aztec god Xochipilli, the god of (among other things) transcendental experiences.

I’ve adapted the animistic mindset throughout the years. I do truly believe that these plants have their own spirit, and as you said, can be anthropomorphized into male and female. It took ten years to realize that Cannabis is a very neutral spirit, almost motherly, and how badly I was abusing her. With animism applied, the thought of abusing a spiritual matron was completely unacceptable, and drove me to a path of sobriety - of which I am nearing two years.

The black dog is a supernatural, spectral, or demonic hellhound originating from English folklore that has also been seen throughout Europe and the Americas. It is usually unnaturally large with glowing red or yellow eyes, is often connected with the Devil (as an English incarnation of the Hellhound), and is sometimes an omen of death. It is sometimes associated with electrical storms (such as Black Shuck's appearance at Bungay, Suffolk), and also with crossroads, barrows (as a type of fairy hound), places of execution and ancient pathways.

Datura grows naturally where I live. Back in the 90s as teenagers we did it after a group of hippies that used to give us garbage bags of free mushrooms during cow flipping season told us about it.
It was a horrible trip. Deliriants are insane. I kept seeing my sister at the door to rooms motioning for me to come in, then stepping into the room, only for her to not be there.
One girl got into a bath tub and started slashing her forearms with razor blades and just kept telling everyone she was rowing a boat.
Another guy jumped off the second floor balcony and broke his ankle.
I woke up in my bed with a nasty white film over my eye balls and no memory of how I got there. I felt like complete shit for 3 or 4 days.
To be clear these hallucinations are not like LSD or mushrooms where you can discern reality from what is fake. You have no idea what is and isn’t real until the datura is out of your system. My sister in doorways was as real as if she were really there.
    Stay away.

I was 16 and we had a datura plant in our home, which is a common occurance, it won't be uncommon to have a datura plant over here around my place. So, I decided to take one half of the whole seed pod, grinded it, mixed it with lassi and drank it. I don't know how I'm alive, but I do remember puking, laughing crazily, saying gibberish. My parents were away that day, gone to a relatives home for a function, and then I started to say shit to my aunt that mom and dad came back, they just got off train, they'll be here soon and whatnot. It was a crazy experience and I thought it wasn't that much, but now I know that I could've died. I seriously don't know how I'm alive rn, cus I ingested half of seeds in that entire pod, moreover, it was ripe.

First off, let me be clear that Ayahuasca is not a “recreational drug.” The purely natural ingredients are relatively common and easy to get. The experience - which nearly everyone agrees is profound, momentous, and possibly life-changing, and can only be described as “spiritual” - is at the same time usually pretty miserable and involves vomiting, diarrhea and feeling like death (hence one of its nick-names, “vine of death”).
Despite all this, there have been no fatalities and few serious incidents involving Ayahuasca, and it is generally seen as a “wise teacher” or “emotional/physical healer”. It has increasingly grown in visibility and popularity in the west as a kind of last resort “cure all”. In 2011 there was even a documentary made about it.

When we talk about evil, there is room for interpretation. I have heard people treat psoriasis or use a few leafs in the bath as a relaxing agent. Evil is the sharpest knife, meaning it is dangerous and must be treated with utter respect. Evil can also be laughed away, and I have heard that certain personalities does not have a bad trip, as psychadelic can only dig up trouble that you carry. Most people would say that peyote is more gentle than Ayahuasca. Datura is said to be one of the original plants, growing wild on all continents, a very spiritual plant that leaves nothing unseen for the spirit. Also "evil" can be used like wasp stings, and cold showers, be used to train your shamanic mind to be more powerful, or finally not distracted by world of form, only relying on the concept of awareness leading reality. In a yogic path, plants are used, eaten and smoked, to challenge consciousness to accept its true nature.

I don't know you guys would believe me or not but for some personal reason I had taken the whole seeds of one dhatura and after 1-2 hour I started vomiting, was seeing weird things, was unable to walk to washroom without support for vomiting, everything was rotation 360°, as time passed breathing is getting difficult, and the last time I vomited (5th time in less than 5 hour after I consumed DHATURA) I chocked.... Throat swelled a lot.. faced difficulty in even drinking water... Somehow I survived the night and next morning met the doctor... Felt hallucinating effect while sleeping next day.... The whole experience was very scary except the hallucination part because I enjoyed that part a lot and tried so many times while meditating to reach that stage but till today unable to reach that level of depth.. Anyway I just say one thing DON'T EVER TRY DHATURA.. It's been 5 years for me even after enjoying that hallucination part I never thought of trying DHATURA. Imagine how bad/dangerous it is... When I chocked for the first time I didn't even know the meaning of chocking... I thought it is my last night.. I'm going to die... I wanted to cry but unable to... I needed help but nobody was there... foam were getting out of my mouth... 1 line me kahun to It was near death experience.
Edit: Just corrected few spelling mistakes.

I still remember when I was a kid someone told me that never touch Dhatura and dont even think of putting it near to your mouth. As soon as she told me like this from that day i was planning to eat Dhatura seeds. But whenever i try to eat, my mom, my neighbors, my dog or someone will always be there to catch me red handed. And somehow I survived during my childhood. This memory refreshed just now after watching this video on Dhatura.

Schizophrenia does not cause delirium. Makes no sense to compare it to datura/deliriants, especially when there’s countless other mental conditions and disorders that lead to delirium that would be more apt for comparison. Literally rabies (its mental effects) would be closer to datura than “schizophrenia” would. It’s most often compared to Alzheimer’s dementia though when it comes to comparing to specific diseases. This notion that deliriants are “schizophrenia in a pill/plant” is a complete misconception. Delirium is a far more alarming condition than schizophrenia anyways. Referring to it as being similar to ‘schizophrenia’ is downplaying how terrible some of these aspects really are.

You clearly have never done a deliriant or experienced delirium. People with schizophrenia don't freakin sundown. Delirium is way more debilitating and confusing, so I'm sorry but you're way off. There are drugs which can cause "schizophrenic-like states" and anticholinergic deliriants are not one of them. Again, they cause a dementia-like state. Literally worlds apart.

Delirium is literally an almost drunken state, without the fun aspects of alcohol of course but it's usually a sign of something being very wrong and/or temporary like poisoning or even water intoxication, which is infamous for causing delirium too. I could name countless conditions that delirium is associated with so the fact someone would ever hone in on schizophrenia as some kind of model for delirium is a perfect example of very stark ignorance. It's a severe lowering of consciousness bro. Where did you get schizophrenia from? What about schizophrenia even sounds similar to delirium? And what motivates you to make up such random lies? Datura leaves are offered to Ganesha during the Ganesh Chaturthi "Patri pooja" in South India, more specifically in Telugu speaking states. I remember collecting those leaves for the pooja as a kid. But my mother would always warn us not to touch the fruit and only pluck the leaf. Another such leaf is "gannaru", as we call it in Telugu. When plucked, white milk oozes out from the stem which again my mother would warn not to even accidentally put into the eyes as it has the power to make one blind is what my mother would say. It was a common sight in my village where kids would go around plucking all sort of leaves for the "Patri pooja". Thanks to this video, I now knew that datura fruit has negative energy

Here in Nepal, Dhatura is also used as a medicine for cattle. I remember, my grandmother mixing the dhatura seeds with the cooked flour and giving it to cows and bulls. When dhatura fruit was unavailable, she would use its leaf. She strictly restricted us (the children) from touching the plant and would plant it far in the corner so that we couldn't easily access the dhatura plant.
Upon asking, she said that this herb would help revive animals from diarrhea and also help them increase their appetite. There were farmers in our village who would regularly feed bulls with the dhatura leaf paste in the cooked flour, especially during monsoon plantations.
