Wish I had found a Netflix Optimus. We have the Kingdom PR of ER Optimus and the lack of paint is disturbing. Thank God for the SS86 Optimus that is coming. In hand, the wide shoulders don't bother me much, but they are extremely wide which is a shame.
I love Netflix Optimus more than the regular release. SS'86 UM is man that ish my favorite toy right now...but Dem shoulders are as wide as two voyagers standing side by side
This is my favourite figure of 2023. I haven't been able to put him down since he arrived. I never fully open the chest though. I leave the flaps closed on the side so the doors only open to 90 degrees from the chest. I'm just a lazy bum, but that is also how it is when he opens up his chest in the movie.
Let's hope there's no more G1 Ultra Magnus figures after SS86. Now all they ever need to do is to make new interpretations of RID 2001 Ultra Magnus, Animated Ultra Magnus, FOC Ultra Magnus and TFP Ultra Magnus
SS86 UM arrived earlier this month and OMG it's amazing. Hasbro dropped a masterpiece on us! I'll still keep the Kingdom UM in robot mode, because I feel sorry for it lol. But this is the definitive UM period. Your videos sealed the deal for me, a must buy for collectors! ❤

Hell yeah. Mine arrived Yesterday and Is already one of my Best figures, surpasing without issues many third parties of mine. About the size I totally share the "its a freaking car Carrier, It Should be BIG", and does not look out of place with voyager Autobots, if any we just need sligthly larger optimuses and megatron's and I would have no issue. Havent sized them together but Im pretty sure 86 magnus Is eye to eye to my favourite megatron the mmc one
Looking at combiner wars ultra Magnus, they are soo damn simmilar. What I mean Is that It looks like It would be incredibly Easy to retool 86 Magnus into a new idw version. It even has a big hollow inner space tha would be larger without a Matrix, enough to Fit Minimus ambus there
For a long time, one of my favorite Ultra Magnus was he CW well Legends version since it is the version I own. It's still a great Ultra Magnus and yes I would love to see him retooled. I don't think they would necessarily use the commander class but they could retool the CW version with better materials and better articulation. I cherish that one so much he is returned to his original packaging because I do like that version of Magnus alot.
So for me I have 86 magnus with my 86 bots, the kingdom magnus is on another shelf in his Albino prime mode so armorless, and my cw magnus is on my idw shelf. Always love for ultra magnus.
Now I'm sitting in my house, watching my SS Ultra Magnus standing on shelf in truck mode... And I caught myself on thought So before ss was kingdom ultra Magnus... Can't say that Kingdom Ultra Magnus was good. And now... They've created completely new mold. And now we have Studio Series 86 Ultra Magnus. (He's new, and what is important to me, cartoon accurate) Are they gonna do the same with Starscream? I mean Before studio series there was earthrise. And studio series coronation Starscream just took old mold from earthrise. Swapped the hands. And that's all What do you think Ed? Will Hasbro make update for Starscream?
I heard and take it with a grain of salt but a new seeker mold is planned that would use Reactivate Starscream mold since ER Starscream lacks a waist swivel like the Siege versions. I heard about this when it was discussed the same rumor of a new Soundwave mold which we know is coming soon also
Epic review Super Robot Ed!! There is a storage place for Minimus Ambus/Alpha Trion when CW Ultra Magnus is in alt mode. The Target version of the CW figure is Platinum Edition Ultra Magnus. I think the SS86 commander class figure has become the best Ultra Magnus figure ever released. Keep on being amazing. EDIT: I'm jealous that you have the Takara Ultra Magnus figure. I broke the wheels on my Hasbro Combiner Wars Magnus figure, so hopefully someday I will be able to find a replacement copy for a decent price.

I've watched your Ultra Magnus reviews several times each. Why can't I have both? Kingdom robot mode for those complaining about scale and SS86 in its alt mode. I just clicked complete purchase on Hasbro Pulse. People, don't wait and over think this. Kingdom was ok until Hasbro answered and delivered a mini masterpiece. Thank you for your common sense input and visual comparisons. I will pair him with my Optimus Prime with KO MP trailor for voyagers on their own shelf.
Great review! Yeah, I'm replacing Kingdom Cow/Chicken hauler ASAP! This is the best 86 Ultra Magnus I've ever seen yet. Very similar to the MP version.

Personally I adore my CW Magnus (although I much prefer the Hasbro paint job to the Takara) and am gonna stick with him

Magnus is perfect imho. The shoulders do NOT bother me one bit. I’d love to get another just to keep one in bot mode and one in vehicle mode… but, that’s not gonna happen anytime soon. Also SS86 Magnus is 75.99 on Amazon right now and mine shipped today AT that price.. so they price matched it. When I pre ordered him in august he was 99.55. If the shoulders bother people just wait for the eventual DNA design upgrade kit that’ll probably do something about that “issue..” if you consider it. UM just jumps off the screen to me.. he’s damn near perfect. Having him and Armada Prime is gonna be hard for me to choose “figure of the year” between the two.
Trust me ..I had my criticisms when I saw the arm width...he is two voyagers wide. But knowing what he turns into you can't deny the scale is worth it. The toy just works. This gave me the feels as I never had a true G1 Ultra Magnus but this one did it for me. It's what I wanted and I thank Hasbto period for this.
I think when they get around to the studio series leaders like prime …we are going to see slight size bump. Always felt 7inches was too short. Look at how large their voyagers are like wreck-gar.
Yeah! For me & to 7.5 In should be characters like Rodimus, OP and Megatron 8 -8.5 and really tall ones 9-10 in UM and Overlord! 11 in should be monster sizes like Helex or Tesarus. Charcters like Bumblebee should be 5 in, Brawn 4in and smaller bots like Nickel 3in! This have been a pet peeve of mine since they always make Sludge smaller than Grimlock!
Hell yeah. Ive literally only passed on all op's since siege because their height bugged me at a time i had no new deluxe Autobots to make him look large. Now that I have a larger chug collection in 100% gonna get me some primes but I still would very much preffer him and megatron to ALWAYS be very large or even the largest voyagers if not leaders on the small size. Thus far chug has also not given me a main Megatron, only one i liked enough to get was the miner one wich I Dont mind not being very large as megatron's weaker younger self
Deluxe Fall of Cybertron Ultra Magnus is my Ultra Magnus. I have limited space on my shelves, so I went there. Scales perfectly with Universe Galvatron.
Not fit in, but if you stack them. G1 Ultra Magnus was a big boy. So it would take about 3 G1 Grimlocks to match his height toy wise. G1 figures are truly small relative to the newer counter parts.
I just got my magnus today. Man o man, he is better than the masterpiece such and amazing magnus. He is perfect in everyway. I still hate that he doesnt scale properly with the other figures, should be shorter than dinobots. But his car carrier mode, and robot mode are just perfect. I just dont know what to do for my display now. Do i leave kingdom magnus with the rest of the bots in group shot or do i have this bad boy with em. Or just seperate .
Well, I made the suggestion to have two Magnus's because so many people complained about the wide shoulders. he just looks out of place, but then when you line all them up he looks like the big bad dad coming to help. I guess you have to look at him on the shelf and say OK I want this one. Hands down he is the best...well I still think Armada Prime edges him out, but for G1 there is no other Ultra Magnus but this one!!

The problem is the dinobots are too small if you want realistic sizing from the show/86 movie. There are huge, but its not practical to make the dinobot figures that big. So its not that magnus is too big, but the dinobots are technically too small.

The figure is amazing, but the scale keeps me from grabbing it. Part of the reason I let myself start grabbing these new G1's is how they scale so accurately to each other, and SS magnus is just too large. It kills me cause really SS is such a well designed figure. Looking up just now, official record lists both magnus and grimlock at 7m, so even then he's still too large. ... I dunno maybe I'll consider it... it really is a great figure
This is why scale cannot be accurately followed all the time. This figure proves that. If this were any smaller the cars would not fit. My gripe will be the shoulders but overall it is a fantastic figure. If Siege/Kingdom alt mode wasn't so janky, then the argument could be made that this figure makes no sense. However as you can see Siege/Kingdom was not large enough to accommodate cars
I think SS86 Magnus is the best, then Siege Magnus and then Kingdom Magnus. I very much dislike the stylization of Combiner Wars Magnus. I also dislike the Minimus Ambus concept.
I am not much of an IDW/Drreamwave fan, but it is a welcome design and a better Ultra Magnus then Siege/Kingdom. Siege/Kingdom alt mode is trash, and the way the armor goes on is definitely borrowed form Fansproject. What Hasbro did with CW/legends Ultra Magnus was amazing at the time. Transformation is one of the best for a CW figure period.
Your Cyclonus is horrible colours like ours is. A lot of our figures are faded into horrible colours. Its totally ruined a lot of them. Hasbro should be ashamed.
If you really a transformers than you should know that one minute there all the same size and for the rest they wre the same height. It’s your preference and
@@superroboted After noticing it can't be undone. The back wheels of the trailer. Even on the G1 it doesn't stick out as much. Maybe only an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch to much. It's there and maybe can't be fixed. On most actual car carries and other semi with trailers the width of the trailer is the same as the truck. The head/neck/shoulders easy fix with the upgrade kits

I told people the commander class version is so good it needs to be on a shelf by itself
Scale comparison was super useful, everywhere else online makes Grimlock look like 2 heads shorter.

Prime has been that size since the beginning of CHUG and I always said he was still too short. I prefer Maketoys Striker Manus Size is the best size

watch out for yellowing tho, i have 2 of this guy and both came out slightly yellowed out of the box in some parts

MP22? You may prepare a Mp22 to compare with . After all the price is much higher than the others two.
MP has no purpose in my collection. As I recall from friends who have both MP-22 and this one the commander class is the better version.

Still don't like it. The turtle head is awful and yhe back of the trailer is a bit to wide.

@@superroboted After noticing it can't be undone. The back wheels of the trailer. Even on the G1 it doesn't stick out as much. Maybe only an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch to much. It's there and maybe can't be fixed. On most actual car carries and other semi with trailers the width of the trailer is the same as the truck. The head/neck/shoulders easy fix with the upgrade kits
