The trail and the surroundings are simply perfect for hiking and exploring.

this makes me melancholic. hiked the whole GR10 in 2020 and seeing the images again brings back all the memories 🙂

The Pyrenees are beautiful, on both sides of the border. (And in Andorra too.)

I love the lush green French side of the Pyrenees. Even for beginners this hike is a doable.

Wonderful trip! may I know what is the month you did the trail? There seems no snow patch anymore

Hi there. Great video! Just wondering, how did you get home from Luchon? Is there public transport?
Also how fit do you reckon you are? I’m looking at organising for me and my girlfriend to do the same section but just want to know how tough it felt in 9 days?

Hi Rory! Thanks 😊 Indeed, from Luchon I took a bus to Montréjeau, from where I took a train back to Lourdes (I had my return train ticket from there to go back to NL). From Montréjeau you can also catch a train to Toulouse.
About fitness.. It's subjective, but I'd say at that point I was pretty fit. A couple of days before this hike I finished a 660km hike from Geneva to Nice (which took a month), so I was used to the mountains and elevation by then. Some days in the Pyrenees hike were still long and challenging due to the heat and steepness (I found the Pyrenees steeper than the Alps).
Are you going to camp? If so, then you have quite some flexibility in how long you want to walk each day depending on how you feel. In my blog I have put my itinerary in detail, you can check it out and see if that's something doable for you: intothehike.com/french-pyrenees-gr10-cauterets-to-luchon/
