Bruhhhh as I'm now inspired to learn the guitar. I've put my guitar down a bit but I haven't gotten better.. but now!!! I'm inspired bro thank you for this!!
Ok bro i thought youre a typea producer who doesnt know shit about music like the most of them but im so glad to see this that you actually understand music now after this, and you summed it up so nicely what im trying to figure out for years of amater playing. People who know how to play perfectly and know music theory to the fullest are actually so stupid and dont know how to explain even the basics, they just cant figure out how someone doesn't get it? But you summed it up so perfectly like everything anyone wanting to play the guitar should know. And i really want someone to finally start making hard beats that are musically complex like jazz is for example
Hopefully I don't sound annoying but, you should try to play with your thumb closer to the bottom of the neck of the guitar so that you can reach notes that are further apart easier. I noticed that you thumb was on the top of the neck at 7:34
I've been playing "seriously" since I was 16...I'm 21 and you kick my ass with all your chord knowledge from a single year...can play some Metal songs and rarely get some melody by messing with the different power chord voicings I learned from melodic death metal songs learned by ear...yesterday I figured out the F minor scale by accident, I was just a half step down, fixed that on my melody progression and boom...now I know I gotta take your steps cuz I'm running out of ideas and need more riffs as well as more chords for my beats...aside from that, getting to know some "guitar tricks" will help you get different vibes. slides , bends, palm muting (with overdrive obviously), tapping, hammer-ons/pull-offs, natural and pinch harmonics...that's where the feels come out. Fingerpicking is very cool as well, you can flex your arpeggio skills xddd. Keep it up :)
this is really inspiring! I’ve played guitar for about a decade and i took up piano more recently. I am new to production ~ a year or so. This video just goes to show you CAN make great music no matter how much you think you know. All it takes is confidence and the willingness to try
Bro this is fire!!! It’s crazy I been on the same journey and you definitely spoke on a bunch of things that I learned myself. It was dope seeing that I’m on the right path! Wishing you nothing but prosperity brother 🤞🏼🔥
This is awesome! I have been playing for more than a decade on and off. Starting to learn a LOT of different songs is a really fun way to learn quickly. Start with smoke on the water. Move on to once i caught a fish alive, then redemption song, then super mario and so forth.
You def done everything needed to get decent. Ive played guitar for over 20 years. Started creating beats about a year ago. Learn and practice. Great video Ocean!
You should look into using Neural DSP. Specifically archetype plini for hip hop. Probably the best amp sims on the market. You’d be surprised. I’m a metal guitarist, so that’s how I was exposed to it. Haven’t seen anyone using it for trap but pretty much every beat I make with guitar has archetype Plini on it. Even use it on my ukulele. It’ll make a cheap instrument sound wayy more expensive than it is.
I’m a strong lead guitarist but i kind of just play. I really need to get these scales and chord shapes sorted because it’s just a huge hole in my ability
This is a great video Ocean 🔥🔥, and for those who aren’t sure about Jamie Harrison and his courses just watch his “slow dancing in a burning room” cover and that will make your mind up. It’s definitely worth it 🙌🏾
Great video. What was the best trick or practise to learn the concept of the chords, their shapes and how they are built across the fretboard? You managed to get very fluid in the chords “voicing” specially those neo soul/rnb ones. Just some advice you could share regarding chords. Cheers mate.
my old guitar teacher told me its better to do even chord progressions instead of odd ones like 2 chords 4 chords etc not 3 or 5 and stuff like that theres a good pedal that I think you would like but its like £500 its called a blooper it has reverse effects so you can basically play the sound of your guitar backwards and more I saw it demonstrated on a guitar youtube channel called that pedal show
Hi Ocean. I'm from Johannesburg, South Africa and such a big fan of your channel. Can you please make a similar video but on how you learned the Piano?
Bro that last loop was insane! Where can i get it ? i would listen to it all day its very peaceful. that's why i love your prods, you got that natural thing in your sounds very viby love it! Keep up the improvement & great work. We'll be waiting to hear more great sound from you. Blessup & yeah thanks for the advices 👌🏽
Hi Ocean! Im a big fan of your content and wanna do the same thing as you, so im wondering if you could tell me what the name of the side you are doing your beats on is. It would help me a lot😁 Or if anyone else knows to it would be very helpful if you could help me to😁👍
Big up bro, sick vid, im looking to buy a guitar myself, i was wondering what guitar you have there, and if you think its worth getting a base guitar aswell? But yh bless up g
Does anyone have any recommendations for guitar courses or places for chord progressions, I can play the guitar but I struggle with making chord progressions!!!
Never played a single instrument besides clicking the mouse and somewhat pressing keyboard(pc)🤣...and whatever ocean talking about is like some kind of music physics, moral of the story ive never felt like I don't know music like this...
Bruhhhh as I'm now inspired to learn the guitar. I've put my guitar down a bit but I haven't gotten better.. but now!!! I'm inspired bro thank you for this!!

@@jtmusicc527 take lessons
@@jtmusicc527 don’t rush into it start with small steps believe it or not you’ll improve quicker 👍🏻good luck 💕
@@jtmusicc527 once you learn all the scales it becomes way easier. Especially when it comes to progression.
Do it, piano is hella fun!
When i saw the video when u made the loop for chuki beats, i already was impressed how you improved in ur guitar skills. Respect👊

petition for ocean to make guitar loop kits
You gotta buy an amp and mic up the guitar. The tones you can get are way better than plugins, keep up the great work 💯
Hey Ocean which guitar course do you recommend please? Thanks!
Big up bro, sick vid, im looking to buy a guitar myself, i was wondering what guitar you have there, and if you think its worth getting a base guitar aswell? But yh bless up g
So so helpful
So many gems there
Can you do a similair video about the keyboard/piano?
So weird watching oscean watching his own videos 😂
What plugin do you pull out when you want to make 808s? I only see default. If you don't mind sharing, Ocean please reply! Like what sampler is that?
Can somebody explain the minute from 11:04 and after to me?
Inspiring
Bro great vid, but what do I need to record a guitar and that it sounds good?
Which guitar do you recommend? I’m trying to do the same but don’t know which one to get
Can y’all give me tips on how to learn piano for music production in very need of some tips cause im getting kinda overwhelmed
So is the minor pentatonic scale only for melodies and then you learn the chords separately?

Do you have any advice for my first guitar (probably electric)?

Does anyone have any recommendations for guitar courses or places for chord progressions, I can play the guitar but I struggle with making chord progressions!!!
Minor pentatonic scale. Gotcha
5:40
Never played a single instrument besides clicking the mouse and somewhat pressing keyboard(pc)🤣...and whatever ocean talking about is like some kind of music physics, moral of the story ive never felt like I don't know music like this...
Learn guitar or guitar vst?
