  • At Mammoth Cave this is how we roll!
On this last day of Cave Week we're giving a shout out to the longest cave in the world - us!
Why do we go into caves? Caves inspire, educate, and teach us about the wonders of the world. People have gone into caves for generations and no matter the intention, they’ve all ventured underground because something was drawing them in...
Mammoth Cave has been used for thousands of years for shelter, precious minerals, and exploration. Drawings and artifacts found in the cave give us a glimpse into prehistoric life and culture. Modern cave explorers seek insight to better understand Earth’s geologic history and the biology of over 160 species.
When comparing the natural and cultural history of Mammoth Cave and other caves from all over the world, it is easy to see that we’re really not too different. Caves reveal to us that we all share something special together - curiosity!
