I discovered Shyv Top for me 2 patches before Lethal Tempo got removed and pushed Diamond from low Emeraldo. It was pretty hilarious how much dmg Shyvanna can do if Enemies stack or try to fight in a Minion wave with ult cuz no one knows her dmg potential :3 I used to play Titanic Hydra into Sundered Sky which just isnt as good now due to lack of AS from LT. But also funny that Shyvanna Q in Dragon Form crits EVERYONE in front of her from Sundered Sky but only removes the marker from the Target you Q'ed, so in a clustered fight on top of that crazy E dmg you could just crit everyone with basicly no cooldown when switching targets for q resulting in random multiple oneshots x)

Riot completely disregards her, and top lane tier lists don't even include her as a champion that exists.
That's all I want, I just want shyvana to exist, to added to a list as recognition that even tho she's terrible, she's still on the roster.
Alois himself has made 4 top lane tier lists in the last year; and shyvana isn't even on the list. Not even honorable mention F tier.
She has a sub 1% pickrate, so nobody remembers she exists. But 25% of shyvana games are shyvana top. She is still a champion

I used to play shyv top with smite + pta back when it wasn't nerfed. Something similar to the baus playstyle, just force enemies to come deal with me or lose camps and proxy, and when you get tiamat it was even more of a menace.

hi alois, i played a lot of shawarma and if u try her again i would strongly recomend getting some kind of lifesteal, like bork if u wanna build a lot of resistances but still do some damage (or a way to deal with tanks if u do no damage) or the hydra to aoe the wave en heal a lot, specially when u are not going conqueror. Oc other options are good but having a way to heal with her in any kind of extended figth feels amazing

Stridebreaker seems nice for DPS and sticking power, but I've personally been using Iceborne Gauntlet a lot on Shyv jungle and I think it would be a decent second item in the build over Stridebreaker to remedy the total lack of defensive stats. Then you also have perma slows from the spellblade.

When doing this, you need bork, i build it first. Your aa's decrease the cooldown of q, so more aa's more q's. Since q counts as an aa, it's a balance of as and cd. Also, lifesteal is nice

One comment if it’s alright, a lot of Shyv’s damage comes from her max hp dmg on E, in almost every fight you were using q then using e even when they’re staying in melee range, this makes you lose at least 6% max hp dmg from that one q alone, I think you would win a few of the close fights you lost if you use e-q instead of q-e. I hope to see you play Shyvana more in the future

Honestly, my AD Shyv build feels better to play. I rush Ravenous into Trinity, I get insane AH too, I have insane wave clear and healing, while being more burst. The down side is that I do not have the stride slow, the upside is that I push towers significantly faster. I also do not usually build Navori. 3rd and 4th items I usually go Sterak and Shojin, in no specific order (depends on the game), then I close it out with either a defensive item (Abysal, Jak'Sho, Handling, etc..) or an offensive option (Sundered, Black Cleaver, Eclipse, Serpent, etc..).
Notes on the items: A very large chunk of you damages is magic, so into AP teams, Abyssal is absolutely INSANE. When your team has lot of AD and they stack armor, Cleaver is very strong. Sundered makes you go 1v9, I literally got a 1v5 pentakill, tanking nexus towers with that item (Dragon Q, proc it on all champions hit, mega burst of healing and Q can crit). Terminus is the higest damage option, but I do not like it. Eclipse shield insta proc and the item is really good too. All the lethality items work, but they are not good, except, if they have lots of shields, Serpent goes insane and Voltaic, if they are ranged and squishy. Hull will proc extremely fast, do lots of damages and give great stats.
Runes: If they are ranged or can kill you easily, Phase Rush is best, so that you do not feed. Into anything else, conqueror goes bonkers, it will stack really fast, heal like crazy and you get the AH rune too, you become an actual unkillable raid boss, if you are even slightly ahead. Good matchups for Conqueror are Garen, Yorick, Sett (hard early, but easy to survive) and every single tanks.
If you can get full build with AD Shyvana, it is usually game over for the enemy. Like I said, I literally dove nexus towers and got a 1v5 penta with her. If they do not have good escapes or a bunch of CC, they can not beat you.

I play a lot of Shyvana top, navori 3rd is the Korean build but it's not working for me. Too squishy but the worst is 0 form of sustain. I think the actual OP 3rd item is either Sundered Sky or BORK depending on the enemy teamcomp. Sundered Sky garanteed crit on both AA from Q so it's a double crit. It also gives sustain which shyv has noone.
If they have a tanky comp, go BORK instead. e + auto + Q is like 40% max health dmg instantly. With this build you kill health stacking champions such as mundo or sion in litterally 3 seconds.
There is also Citric build which has become meta in the jungle, but it's good top too. Hybrid, Shojin into Liandry is core, after that you can build anything but horizon or Riftmaker are good.
Shyvana top will NOT work with a cookie cutter, build as indicated by her winrate (44%), but it is imo very strong if you know what to build and when to build it. She can build any item.
Shyvana also surprisingly counters a lot of champions. She completely shits on Yorick because Maiden and ghouls give you Q reset so you just Q machine gun him to death. She destroys GP because she can instantly clear barrels (and if in dragon form you AoE him also so you don't even lose anything)

yo, i've played a ton of shyvana over the years, and i'd like to share some thoughts. i'm stuck silver because i only play occasionally and because i'm a monkey though, so take it all with a grain of salt.
[edit: my smurf is around emerald/plat elo in normal since still lvl 24]
as you pointed out, shyvana early is usually pretty weak. with lethal tempo it was disgusting, but nowadays, you need to play it safe. luckily, shyvana scales suuuper hard with every item.
as for the current lol dobby build, i'd call it an (almost) meme build. basically, as i see it, there are more or less 2 ways of playing shyvana, although realistically, there's 1 option. either you
1) play ap 1shot, which is stupid, shouldn't be in the game, and i spit upon it.
2) play bruiser. as bruiser, there's a ton of options in terms of itemisation, but it's easiest to explain from the view point of my current build.
- since the last lol dobby build (lethal tempo, ravenous, tri-force, hullbreaker) my go to for first item (presuming there are no match-up specifics) is tri force. it has a good and flexible build path, and the sheen is simply too good with shyv's q
- 2nd item would normally be spear of shojin. extreme value, on hp and cd
- 3rd item is titanic hydra. shyvana's ddragonform q hits everything in front of her, applying on-hits. the auto attack cancel from titanic works in favour of reducing shyv's q cooldown, and since her ult picks up and deposits all enemies along the path in front of her, you can simply pick up, and 1shot 3 people with q-titanic
- blade of the ruined king. sometimes (tanks, lol) you need the giant shred, but botrk simply synergises too well with shyv not to consider. it's the whole package (as, lifesteal, ad, slow, giant shred). lol mundo
- - since attack speed can be an issue on shyvana, you can also opt for nashor's. it's viable in damage, and if paired with riftmaker, it enables you to dip into the strength of ap shyv.
- defensives. Shyvana may look big in dragon form, but without items to back her up, she gets shredded if she gets kited (as you experienced in your games). back in the old days, i would play frozen mallet - titanic - botrk and i wouldd run people down with more hp and dmg than them. shyvana can 1shot people, but her strength relies in prolonged dragonform fights (she still gains fury in dragonform) where you can dip in and out of combat, and mostly play around your E cooldown. as such, you want to be able to survive what people throw at you, because your continuous damage output is too high, almost regarddless of itemisation. Jak'sho was the ultimate cheatcode when mythics came out, and i still sometimes buy it these days. sterak's gage, or any other pure tank item, is usually fine. build according to your needs.
- riftmaker is fun, because similarly to botrk, its stats are too good, and the effects are even better. as mentioned earlier, usually paired with nashor's, as it still gives you sustain (since you're not taking botrk). it also gives more ap as you continue to build tank (because anything else is heretic after 3 items)
- navori is super fun, but it's conditional. if you get kited you're dead, because it gives no defense.
- hydra items. personally, in 9 out of 10 situations, i will prefer titanic hydra, because it enables my playstyle of her (beefy skirmisher). ravenous is 2nd, for lifesteal and cleave. VERY fun with dragonform q. stridebreaker seems absolutely unnecessary. but while you're at it, why not also build shurelia's and randuin's? jokes aside, ms is super good on shyv, but it's best gained from other sources (force of nature, dead man's plate, phase rush, etc) and not lock up your hydra slot with stridebreaker
- boots is kinda situational, but also kinda not. cd boots is super fun, but usually, steelcaps will be better. 35% - 65% split.
- runes. lots of options, but depends on matchup. phase rush is fun, and works well in many cases. conqueror is good, but don't sleep on press the attack (especially if you don't need the sustain from conq)
- summoner's. again lots of options. i prefer flash-tp, but ghost and ignite have their moments. i personally don't like playing top with ignite, so i don't have much experience with it at all. flash-ghost is for ultimate skirmishing

Unless that is caused by people who played top shyvana in the past (the pick rate of top shyv is way up since the lol Dobby video, so nearly all have not played it recently) gravitating more to Conq over phase rush compared to new players then it should be real that Conq is better for most people
