M&M BBQ Company's Texas Smoke King - 1st Cook & Review Part 1

- I picked up my new @mmbbq Texas Smoke King this week, first one off the assembly line, serial #001. I've got it home and set up in it's temporary home.
In my last video, I talked about some of the reasons I chose the Smoke King over models like the Mill Scale 94, Franklins, or the M&M Goldees. In this video, I get hands on with it. After a quick review of all its features, including footage of Mike and Matt from M&M, I check its capability for cold smoking and run up the temp to 275 for a biscuit test.
In Part 2, we run the temps up to 325 and cook some smoked wings. Afterwards I give you my thoughts and impressions.
This is my first offset review. I'd greatly appreciate any input from @ChudsBbq , @MeatChurchBBQ , or @MadScientistBBQ .
I'm offering an open invitation to any BBQ equipment reviewers that want to use my Smoke King for a video to reach out. I won't ship it but my location is pretty central to the Texas Triangle.
Looks like an incredible pit you picked up! I’m going to look into one of these. Great video, sir
Thanks for watching. My full review comes out tonight at 7 central in Part 2. Spoiler, I made the right choice.
Great results on the biscuit test. No severe bottom burn on any biscuits.
can they do 1/2 thick firebox 3/8 not going to cut it with me and some parts of your video sound is very low
Looks awesome!!! I want the Smoke King XL and am so ready for it to be released!!!
Looks like a great smoker.
I learned something,
Pro tip?
@@LoneBullBBQ never used a smoker, yankee that I am, so yeah plenty of 'em
New Sub Here! That’s a bad ass smoker! I can’t wait for more videos!!! Smoke on, brother!
Appreciate it!
Did you spay the inside of the smoker to cure it?
Another plus in the M&M service model is that every smoker has multiple fires lit in it prior to releasing to the customer. Not sure if you can tell but the outside is already seasoned with linseed oil. Same for the inside, it was already seasoned but yes, I did spray inside prior to the biscuit test. I filmed my doing it but took that part out of the full video due to time. Great question.
Thank you for the review - how big is the firebox and is it insulated ? Look forward to your cooks on it
Firebox measures 28″L x 20″D, made from 1/4″ steel. You can see it in the video at the 4:00 minute mark. th-cam.com/video/YRsK-Wb8HTA/w-d-xo.htmlsi=a8AvIEOb3YcyuL05&t=240
@@LoneBullBBQ thank you !
Great content - please continue to post videos on the smoker because I know a lot of potential buys will be watching and looking for a excellent product review.
Thanks. Part two comes out tonight at 7:00 central.
@bentonquest great review. Quality offset smoker. Good luck on growing your channel. I just started mine
Thanks for stopping by. Part 2 is being premiered tonight at 7 central. Just subscribed to your channel too.
@@LoneBullBBQ thank you! I look forward to part 2!
thanks for review... Mill scale, Goldees or Smoke King... decisions decisions...
Don't forget the 160 gallon Smoke King coming soon. When you want to cook 10 briskets at a time. :) Let me know what you choose and why. Thanks for the comment.
I wouldn't keep Workhorse Pits out of that conversation. 3/8" steel and it cooks outstanding.
I was a little late you did do a video!! 🔥🔥
Hi Turk, thanks for your comment on this and the other video. I'll be putting out part 2 of this video on Tuesday at 7:00pm.
Awesome, Can’t wait. Nice upload. What was your grand total? Thanks
@@eleasartoledo7866 $3,995 retail, with Texas sales tax came to $4,300.00 total. Of course I didn't pay any shipping and opted to pick it up myself.
