Earth dude explaining hockey to kids on an alien planet.😁 McKay is an odd guy. At times he'll throw himself into potentially fatal danger. At other times he kinda freaks out from that danger.
He is probably the most complex character on the show. He has many sides, ofter heroic, other times selfish, extremely sharp but in social situations blind as fuck. David Hewlett played him perfectly. Especially later when they get used to each other and the writers starts to write to their strenght the banter is top notch.
The protective shield should fit his hand like a glove allowing him to pick up the cup. The military personnel including Lt. Ford have been on missions before. Lt. Ford told Shepard about his experience entering the wormhole during the first episode.
I know this is weeks late but McKay was able to interact with things because the shield was relatively skintight or form fitting rather than say a bubble. He still had functional hands with individual fingers that could wrap around objects. Another comparison would be a hazmat suit. I guess a pothole is that the shield should glow whenever he’s holding something, standing on the ground, etc.
It's a 3d printed model I got for her on Etsy, you can get it in different sizes, painted and unpainted. I'd suggest searching for Stargate Atlantis City Etsy, you might be able to get one for yourself. Fair warning, the colours aren't the way it looks on the show. (as you can tell from the video)
It's such a littel pet peeve but Rodney rolling up the other sleeve is so specificly funny for doctors or any phlebotomist. Just cause you know that you had a succesful blood draw on one arm doesn't mean that this is the ONLY vein you got. People get really iritated about that. LOL @ Carson just ignoring that and rolling up the other sleeve.
I personally feel like SGA didn’t get a great team of main characters like SG1. The best I can explain it is Oneil, Teal’c, Carter, and Jackson was like lightning in a bottle. Shepard, Teyla, Mckay and Ford just cant measure up
The best thing for the Atlantis model I can think of is to have dad put a hook in the shelf and hang it from a string/wire. Could even play with positioning it in front of the SG-1 gate.
When I initially bought it for her there was the option to include a glass cover like that, I opted not to include it since her office lighting and her monitors would probably cause some bad reflections on it making the city less visible. That and sending it I figured it'd never make it over there without breaking.
6:20 Yeah that is a plothole there. I thought the same thing. Everything should trigger the effect. 20:45 Rodney oh rodney. And weird that most people do not get the connection between that thing and the Ancients.

I mean, obviously you need to get an aquarium to put the Atlantis model in. Clearly the only proper way of displaying it... 😁

Maybe mount the model Atlantis at about 45°, could show the detail better
OR sitting down plus a 45° mirror above it so we can see the top in the reflection 😎
Put a light on it too

Put Atlantis under a glass cover (like its force field)

Couldn't McKay take off his shirt to remove the device? Funny thing is i don't remember this episode. Love your reactions, Shannan. 🌹🌹👍☮️
If you look, the shield extends over his clothes.

Watching Stargate Atlantis makes you 10 times hotter and that's a fact 😊
