It was only luck I wasn't doing 100kmh at the time, there was a flood way sign a few hundred metres back and after all the river crossings I had just done I slowed right down then came across this. I went to stop then figured that would be probably a horrible death under that thing and the only option was off road.

5:05 cammer indicated to change lanes, correct, cammer was then driving in the turn lane, correct. That turn lane proceeded all the way to the intersection, correct. @andrewwatson5360 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +16

Absolutely correct. The only problem is drivers who only think about themselves and not the situation they are in like that twit. All they see is the turn signal and that is enough for them to go never dreaming that the signal is for changing lanes or turning left a few metres further on.
I don't use my indicators where a car is likely to misinterpret where you are going to turn as inevitably they are poised to go at the slightest prompt.
I wait till I'm far enough along to ensure they won't pull out before I'll indicate. Years of riding motorbikes and managing to survive taught me how to read these types of scenarios and ride/drive accordingly.
I try to be prepared for anything but watching these clips can be unsettling.

6:44 Beemer's a douche for not letting him in but also turning on your indicator doesn't automatically give you the right to merge anywhere. No space was given? Toughen up and try further down. Gonna miss the exit? Guess you'll have to miss the exit. Fuck up your day, not everyone else's.

@@ibast1- In fairness, the driver is watching all four corners while doing this manoeuvre and the rear flare out isn't an issue unless someone is in his lane. The big risk here is normally the back right side, cleaning up the sign or traffic light. He can see that unfold in his RH mirror, but loses sight of the left side at some stage in the turn because of the angle. It's a mistake, but one only prevented by not taking the turn when it's obvious the vehicle is over the front and side lines. Two parties at fault, but one where the truck driver gets sympathy from me.

I remember the large argument the guy was having with Dad and wasn't happy when the attending police gave him the fine. So now similar to you I try to think of other motorists when indicating to try to avoid confusion with other motorists (and nothing peeves me off more when sitting at a roundabout for a few mins waiting for a gap and the car that entered to the right of me enters and exits without indicating left, which, if indicated, would have given me the chance to enter... of course if they indicated but went straight and I collided with them, it would be my fault lol).

I understand the driver of the car turning left ahead of the dashcam car, because the dashcam car's left indicator is on, but at the same time, the dashcam car is merging left to make the left turn at the traffic light. Tricky because the lane to merge into has a road one can make a left turn to just before the lights as well. Nevertheless, given this situation, the person coming from the left should've been more cautious of cars coming from his right, regardless of what the car's indicator might signal you.

I drove the Hotham road many times and I'm so glad i've never seen an accident there, but they def have serious accidents every single year.

5:10 I was taught that just because you see someone indicating, don't assume they're about to turn before they get to you. For all you know, they may be about to pull into the driveway just behind you.

0:40, advisory speed sign says 35k/h. Think the overtaking driver was faster than that. On snow and ice..........

I will never understand why people need to get that 1 spot ahead or need to change lanes a bunch of times to get to their destination 20 sec earlier (assuming they don't crash and end up 3 hours late). There seems to be an inability to just back off when there's a knob head doing dumb stuff in front of them. I get cut off, I just ease off and have a laugh at the stupidity knowing they are destined for a meeting with a tow truck.
Instead of forcing the clot shot on people, they should have been handing out chill pills.

This ambulance driver might want to learn some road craft first.

Did they seriously think heading for the grass was a worse option?
