Agreed. Namjoon’s songs / albums are curated art pieces, while Yoongi’s are an exorcism. 💜

I think the 3 members of the rapline - RM, J-hope and SUGA - are the head, heart and soul respectively of BTS. Not to say that the others don't have those things or they're only that one thing. But I think it is what strongly leads them in their personalities and songwriting. That's just what I think.

Thank you for this reaction, Roscoe! It's great to watch these two geniuses together, talking about their music. Aren't the showrunners clever to make them swap around so that Yoongi can be interviewed in his show? Totally agree with your differentiation of how they craft their music - Namjoon is cerebral, Yoongi emotional. I love all the songs in D-Day but my favourite is "Snooze" - after surviving all the hardships and trauma in his life, Yoongi then takes his juniors by the hand and tells them he's got their back. If you add the fact that Ryuichi Sakamoto featured in this song before his death, the song just gets that much more emotional weight. The documentary "Road to D-Day" covers the album's creation and shows us the many different sides to Yoongi. I can't believe that you still haven't seen this doco, Roscoe! I've seen it several times but would not mind another watch with you. And with both Namjoon and Yoongi wishing they could focus on the present more, I suggest you should also make the time to react to Suchwita ep 12, where Yoongi interviews the member who personifies living in the present.

Rm is a philosophical person in his music and knows how to organize and manage his life. As for Suga, things are the same, but Suga makes you feel his emotions and feelings in his music and you take many lessons from it in various areas of life. This is my view of their music when I listen to them. I hope you will watch suchwita episodes with the rest of the artits they are so dope

"I don't have anything more to say." I believe he was referring to his personal life and struggle and depression and angst. He processed through all of that. He wrote the trilogy. He closed that door. And he even said he is thinking about not being Agust D anymore. That's what I think he meant. When he was interviewed on IU's "Palette" show....he says he is in a very good place now. That he is mentally healthy now. He has buried the past and risen a new man. Does he have more to say? Yes. Of course. You are right. Just not about his past. He's worked his way through that emotional trauma. He's done talking about that. If you haven't seen that interview, it's great too. He openly shares a lot about himself. I hope people understand how healthy it is to talk about your challenges. Don't bottle your feelings up inside. Suga used his music and rap as a kind of therapy to get it all out in the open. And thus he was finally able to heal. Suga divulges even more about this in the book "Beyond the Story". I think you might be surprised at his end goal in all of this. Hint. Why does Suga know so much about the Amygdala, and it's response to trauma?

It is a MUST to watch Jin's "Suchwita" before JHope's "Suchwita".
When you watch it in this order, you will understand. Ask anyone else. They will say the same thing. I enjoyed you enjoying this episode. Can't wait for the others. What's really good is Suga's documentary. His preparation for his D-Day album. I got to know him even more. And love and respect him even more! I hope you schedule to watch that, too. Also, I skimmed through your videos and didn't see that you had watched any of his D-Day concerts. Did you? If not, you are really missing out. His last concert before he schedules 2 extra concerts in Seoul is superb. Especially some of his heartbreaking songs at the end. Please watch and react.

I met a 70+ year old ARMY on a FB page just before COVID kicked off and BTS inspired her to go back to college (her-now dead-abusive husband always told her she was too stupid for school) and the other day she posted her certificate she got when she made the Dean’s List at her university. Don’t TELL me BTS doesn’t change lives 🥹💜 I hope they always remember how much good they’ve done in the world just by being themselves and doing what they love.

Now. Jin. JHope. And JK. You're a great listener with great responses and observations! Of course. Exactly how a good director should be. Kudos! Bravo! Oh. And there are a lot of little gems in the rest of the member's episodes.

Then Suga's documentary. Then Suga's concert. Then "Beyond the Story". Again, so many things Never known before by Army or anyone are shared for rhe first time. The author uncovers so many hidden gems! In Chapter 1 alone I was amazed. Why was Big Hit almost bankrupt? We all knew they were. But why? How did this affect the guy's living arrangements? I was shocked at this one. Nobody knew. So, you have lots of great BTS content to consume!

For me the difference in song writing is that RM's writing is more poetic and palatable, while Yoongi's is more straight forward and will cut you deeply. Yoongi touches on a lot of deep dark subjects and as RM said it's full of angst and despair but also hope.

According to Spotify, SUGA made history on as the first and only K-pop solo singer to accumulate over 3 Billion streams. This incredible feat includes SUGA's solo work under the names Agust D and SUGA, as well as his personal songs on BTS albums.
In addition to his streaming success, SUGA's songs "Daechwita," "Haegeum," and "People Pt.2" topped the iTunes charts in 100 countries. This makes him the first rapper, and the only artist, to have three or more songs reach the top of the iTunes charts in 100 countries.

The whole getting away from the city thing is why we moved to a Peninsula in Australia. I'm a five minute drive from quiet bay beaches and a ten minute drive from huge ocean beaches. 15 minutes from bushland and forests. Getting away from the world is the best way to connect and be in the world.

For me RM is more emotionally sensitive than Suga so needs to control organise and wrap pain in beauty to make it palatable. Suga feels deeply but those feelings are less twisty and convoluted, by his mind overthinking everything. In many ways he is just more straight forward than Namjoon. I think he is also a genius. RM is a lyrical poet. Suga a lyrical surgeon. I think thats the best way to understand it. I admire both these men. In another conversation somewhere Suga mentioned he did not want young BTS school children fans finding unsuitable subject matter searching BTS on the internet.

Where was Suga 3 years ago when he started working on "Amygdala"? Who did Suga let listen to the beginnings of the song? The spoiler is in this clip. I promise it doesn't spoil very much. It's fascinating to me. th-cam.com/users/shorts1QAl0HWbOTk?si=wwa7AG0AEEMud0F3

A note. I've thought about this quite a bit. What will Suga do when he is serving in the military? He will have no laptop. No recording equipment. Maybe he will create and add info to his phone at night when it's quiet time? Or will he just upload all his ideas in his brain and download when he's home on breaks. Whatever happens I think it will be torturous for him. Taeyung of "Vibe" told IU on her "Palette" show that he didn't sing once even on breaks while serving in the military. He said it WAS tortuous. If you've never seen "Palette" it's quite good. IU is a great interviewer. And then she and her guests sing. Not always what's been released, but very creative adaptations of the guests song. IU recently sang V's sing beautifully and creatively.

When it comes to watching Creatives in the zone, I tend to really lean into major directors, not surprisingly. But what I love most about it is: when we see them working, we are only getting the 'externals' of what they're asking for, not the internals. So, for example, watching Quentin Tarantino ask John Travolta to enter a room "this way" specifically (and it makes you go, "huh? why??") is a glimpse of that mystery that I love dissecting. Hearing a director talk and guide the cast/crew is like being given tiny hints of a much bigger and more complex picture. Not to mention, all the details inside those heads... down to the nitty gritty of facial expressions and minor eye/eyebrow movements... always fascinating.
