I have Two Honda Aquatrax R-12 turbo bought brand new 2006 1 for my wife Karen one for me identical black silver white and red. With 92 octane premium fuel flat water at Lake Mead. Will do 77 miles per hour. My wife can beat me by 1/2 ski length. Cuz I way 100 lbs more than her. Before that we had two Articat Tiger Sharks Daytona hauls triple cylinder two strokes. With hot gas could not beat the Honda 4 cylinder. I raced a guy at lake Meade with my tiger shark he beat me by a ski length. I sold both Tiger sharks bought the two Hondas. I agree with the comments that the Honda was not running 100 percent. I enjoyed your video thanks for sharing. Peace out!!!😂😂😂
I'm a PWC mechanic and I bought a new 99 Ultra 150 and my buddy bought an 05 Honda turbo and I blow him away every time he wants to race. Hondas are good skis but its not as fast as an Ultra 150. Actually there's not a production model made that's faster off of the floor. Now with the 300hp+ machines and a programmer its no match to the Ultra 150.
Until you get into chop and well the Polaris pro 785 is faster then ultra out of hole and top speed
We had 2 Honda r-12x turbo skis. great machines. But the only way they would do 77mph was if they were on a trailer. Via GPS, they were good for 64 mph consistently. Great for the time. We now have 2 Kawasaki Ultra 310's. They are quicker to top speed, but USCG governed at 67 MPH as are all newer skis.
Super cool to watch. I can't believe either ski didn't hit 50.
Speedo on the kawi is inaccurate it does 61-62 on GPS all the time. Honda was probably only 1-2 mph slower
Speed on water looks way more intense than on land or snow.

Speeds not shown, but the way the R-12X took off is way way too slow. My F-12X leaps out of the water, nose up. Should do about 61. Supposedly Kawa did 59+ so that proves Honda has an issue. Should have been close.
Sorry Jack but your incorrect, the kawi had been running between 61-63 on GPS. The aquatrax was probably within 1 or 2 mph. Pretty close id say.
F-12X needs pump work.

It's a useless video because you have done it incorrectly. IF you had a GPS you should have USED IT on BOTH skis. So far all we have is you babbling and giving different speeds every time. First you said 59+ then you upped it when I said that the R-12X does at least 61. Now it's 63. Have no idea of ski tune state, impeller and on and on. R-12X is not running right.
Learn how to do comparisons. Amateur stuff like this is useless.
FIrst the issue is the WEIGHT difference. 626 lbs vs 745 lbs. It really is not about 2-stroke vs 4-stroke. A GP1300R 2-stroke is also faster.

FYI Try to learn the difference between "your" and "you're".

@@parkersims9167 LOL - no it's just a pointless video. As I said elsewhere, pick an old GP1300 yamaha and let's compare 2-stroke to 2-stroke. I know exactly how the R-12X should have accelerated and something was wrong. Typically Hondas have pump issues this old. A pump replacement actually adds about 2 mph. How do I know? Because I had one. But it's a pointless video.
Let's run one with a GP1800R. That's a 4-stroke. Now what?

Speedometer is off, usually does 61 62 on GPS
Looks a lot faster than 49 mph.. (and speedos on jet skis are Never accurate)

These comments are crazy! I don't care what anybody says, The Kawasaki is 5mph faster than the Honda. I have Honda everything, ATC 250SX, Talon 1000R and an XR250R but I also have an early 99 Ultra 150 which is faster that the 2000 or 2001 model in this video. I constantly run 67mph GPS
Yup people got big mad haha, the 99s were even faster that's correct. I don't know why people think it's supposed to get blown out of the water. It's a low to mId 60mph jetski whereas the honda is also that. Make sense that they were very close
Something wrong with the honda the kawasaki was only showing around 48.My fx12 will hit 66 quickly.
Guage on the kawi is broken, kawi does 62 - 63 consistently on GPS
Yeah something is wrong with the Honda because a 2005 R12x will hit 65 mph plus’s easy with a 180# person on it.
Tell your buddy to put a macsboosts tune on his Honda and it'll pull hard on the ultra 150 and still retain its reliability.

Some thing wrong with that Honda! I have 2007 Aquatrax f12 (the non turbo) it is stock and it will do 59 mph!
Ultra was going over 59, speedometer on the dash is incorrect

Water conditions apply to ALL brands - so what was your point?
Dream-0-meter on these is often 4-6 mph optimistic as they tend to be on many. Hence the often noted comment GPS speed and have actual picture.

@@minnowlaketuning the Honda should be easily matching that speed if it running 100% I used to do 62 on my F12x and I rode a 2 seater and got it up to 63 and the hull was taking some water.
