Great video Russ. I’m so happy to learn this because I always want longer rectangular blankets vs. square ones. Thanks so much. I really appreciate it. 😃😃
@@itsrainingyarn I really did enjoy it and learning a new technique!!! Never too old to learn something new. I love our yarn community and I’m so happy you started your channel!!!
Hi Russ!! I started my square into a rectangle. I am using a 4.5mm hook. Happy Place yarn by Hobbii and Toni Lipsey!! Super soft, 50% cotton and 50% wool, blend!! This one is not scrappy like yours but my next one will be. I'm doing 2 dc, ch 1 and then 2 chs in the corner!! Loving it so far!! Thank you!!! This is a wip. I am doing other projects. Now back to the pickle jar journey, I am on Day 22
Thanks Ross. I see how you could do this continuously now...... at first, before you did the demo, I was thinking you just went across what will become the short edges twice but I see now it's 3 times so each end adds two extra rows and enables you to work continuously. I think only one thing that would have made it easier for me would be if you had changed colour after the square so that the increase rounds stood out against it. Thanks for showing us this method. It's more controllable than guessing on what long length of chain would give the right proportions for a rectangle blanket.
Very good video, Russ. Thank you for explaining and showing this so clearly. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos. I always learn something new. Keep up the great work!
This is very helpful, specially when you want the initial square to be a different color. Very well explained. It'll be easy to follow your instructions when I do it, so thank you very much!! You did great 👍 👏👏
I was wondering how the corners were done when you first told how you did your rectangle and now I know. Thank you for taking the time to do this demonstration.
Love the lady bug stitch markers. love your instructions. The only thing that would have made it better for me is to rotate the image so I'm not looking at it from the side.
Thank you Russ! You did a fantastic job and I wouldn’t change it. I can’t wait to make me a blanket for my bed. You explained everything very well, that makes you different from everyone else. See you soon. ❤❤❤
Hi Russ❗I'm so glad I found this tutorial😘 I always wondered how you made a square into a rectangle‼️Don't worry about remaking this video....I think we all got it❗Thanks ! I'm trying it right now😉😃
Thank youRuss going to watch this and get started turning my granny tonight 👏amanda xx💖💕🇬🇧you didn’t come across as nervous Russ you have a lovely teaching voice and manner 👍great job 👌
Thank you. I’m making a granny square blanket right now and I need to do something else for a while but I’m going to save this to my playlist and try it later on.
I’ve done my first increase rows Russ and it worked out great I’m over the moon with it thank you so much I plan to do another couple at least as I’m hoping to do a good size lap blanket 😊amanda xx💖💕🇬🇧
Amanda I saw the picture you sent to Russ in an email of your blanket. It is gorgeous!! You picked up the granny square rectangle blanket technique very well. ❤️
Hi Russ, you did a wonderful job explaining how to do this.I’m going to save it for when I’m ready to make my grandsons blanket. As Jax pointed out it was sideways but I just locked it to watch it…no worries at all. Have a wonderful day!🙏🏻🧶🥰
I have to have my camera on landscape mode to do the teaching videos. the other videos I can do the other way, then the shorts I have to do a different way lol. I'm learning just bare with me 🥰
The one thing I want to suggest is doing a video where you use one colour for every row/round. For me, it would be easier to see. Thank you for a good video, Russ!👍 👏 EDIT: I meant different colours for every round. 😅
Good morning Russ !! I'm sorry it's been awhile I'm catching up with my videos to watch I've been sick ,very beautiful tutorial I like it thank u for showing us take care 🙂 💖
Great tutorial. I started my own square to rectangle blanket as soon as you released video. I’m using Red Heart - it’s a wrap Rainbow that I’ve had hanging around for a couple years. I’m really enjoying the fingering weight yarn since I completed my Aberdeen Wool hanks on the cowl.
Thank you so much for this video! Yes, your ladybug markers are so cute! I know your kitties are not in this video but I have to say how much i enjoy seeing your pets in your videos! And I am wondering, if it isn't too painful for you because I know you have said your pet hedgehog has passed away but can you please tell us more about having a hedgehog as a pet? I don't know anyone who has had one as a pet. Thank you Russ! ❤️
@@itsrainingyarn hi dollface ,no I can sort of do that one but I saw a person do what they called a solid granny square with no gaps but couldn’t see very well and they went to fast for me lololololol
