Thank you to those who pointed out that the last method of using the google doc would be faster by changing the document color. Then use ultra key like the phone method. To do this in google doc: 1. Select File > Page setup from the menu. 2. Click the Page color icon and choose a color. 3. Click OK.
I think you might be my favorite go-to for Premiere tips and tricks. You're so talented and you really are a great instructor!! Thank you for all that you put into your videos.
Oh dude, this is beautiful. The last method. I've been screwing around for a year looking for typewriter templates. This is so simple. So fast. You rock!!! I'm so glad I found this channel.
you are the best of the best of the best of the best of the best. no words to describe how much I learn and enjoy your videos. thank you for changing the quality of my videos!
Ok so the big takeaway from this is the instagram colour fill tip 😂 that's amazing! Not saying the other tips here aren't good or anything, but that's just genius
you are in my memory at least the first tutorial guy who has not only shown me what i was looking for but you solved a long time issue of mine with subtitling that i can freely use perfectly now thank you for showing me the text toggle animation thing omggg
quick tips, open your word/google docs, create a text box with black background color, set the text color to white, record with screen recorder (I'm using OBS so I don't need to crop later). Insert the footage to premiere pro and set the blending mode to screen....
Yo thank you man. I have no idea what im still doing editing things and you made the screen recording thing work for me. Im using the snippet tool and hitting record. Then i did the invert thing you have and it worked. Thanks
For the last method: Instead of recording writing the text, record deleting the text and reverse the footage in premiere, this way you can control the speed and don't have to worry about mistyping.
Awesome thank you for this! Adobe Express is also an easy way to do it on your phone for social media and add animation to text. Semi-limited but also quick!
Seems like the easiest way to do multiple line type-on-text effect is the last one you mentioned, also seems like a lot of work for such a simple effect. BUT, at least it is possible - thanks for the tip! ⌨
I got so frustrated that Premiere didn't have an easy typewriter effect for text, that I made a template for it in After Effects to use in Premiere. Now it's a piece of cake! 🤘
Never fail to click on a new upload from you, as I always learn something new! Do you happen to have any videos covering techniques which might help with revealing text contained within a screenshot? For example, I have .png of a block of text I screenshotted from a website, and I want to reveal the text one line at a time as a voice narrates it.
@@JavierMercedes Thank you for your reply. An opacity mask does seem like the most obvious tool for this. Unfortunately it seems like a hold interpolation is not available for mask keyframes in premiere, meaning I'll have to use the double-keyframe-one-frame-apart workaround. Keyframing the "4 sided" mask (which is actually a polygonal mask) will be slightly less cumbersome if I turn down the opacity, so at least I'll be able to see the text underneath while giggling around the mask border at each keyframe...
Hi thank you for this app. I like it a lot and it is my main editing program. But it is also true that you have to stay up to date. Cap cut shows the way and i hope lumafution does keep it up. Unfortunately AI is the future. It could help a lot to do some of your editing faster. I mean look at the “eye correction” option…. Go on with your good work. And remember to give us the “ tipewriter type “on Text effect😊
lovely. But Invert is a heavy effect so what I use instead is Lumetri, go to curves and invert the white curves by bring to top down and the bottom side up then you can change your blending mode under opacity to screen if neccessary .
For the first option, where did you get the typing effect? After you put in the "wipe" effect, you said to add typing sounds, but I'm not sure where to find that. Thanks!

Sad how Premiere doesn’t make this easy. Props to you Javier.
imagine instagram has it but not premiere lol
Wait for After effects then
You have one of the best tuts online for this effect. Kudos for all the research and experimentation that you do to make these videos.
I think you might be my favorite go-to for Premiere tips and tricks. You're so talented and you really are a great instructor!! Thank you for all that you put into your videos.
Thanks Kelly!
I second that notion to infinity! What’s your website so I can pick up some of your presets.
Oh dude, this is beautiful. The last method. I've been screwing around for a year looking for typewriter templates. This is so simple. So fast. You rock!!! I'm so glad I found this channel.
The invert thing was totally new to me, as I said before, clicking on a Javier video I never go home empty handed.
fantastic video showing all the methods, straight to the point
you are the best of the best of the best of the best of the best. no words to describe how much I learn and enjoy your videos. thank you for changing the quality of my videos!

Ladies and gentleman, the best Premiere professor on TH-cam!
Ok so the big takeaway from this is the instagram colour fill tip 😂 that's amazing! Not saying the other tips here aren't good or anything, but that's just genius

dude you are a genius, I love all your videos!
The first one is OP not going to lie.
Hey Javier! Very nice video. Learn a lot today, not just typewriter effect. Thanks.
For the last method: Instead of recording writing the text, record deleting the text and reverse the footage in premiere, this way you can control the speed and don't have to worry about mistyping.
Very interesting and great idea!
Thanks for the tips! I still think it's easier to do it in AfterEffect, but that's definitely some nice techniques here.
The best technique ever I've watched, thank u for sharing.
Good lessons learned am picking up premiere pro text effects
Thank you so much man, you are a true hero! Liked

Thanks Javier, I was wondering and now saved this video for future use for when I want to do it.
Awesome thank you for this! Adobe Express is also an easy way to do it on your phone for social media and add animation to text. Semi-limited but also quick!

Why you are so brilliant 😍
Man, I’ve learned so much more than what I came here for. Thanks man!
How did you get the text to go behind your head?
Great tips. Makes me wonder if I can do the same thing with Keynote animations which you can export as a video
Thanks sir

So strange there isn't a build in effect for this.
GOAT
Instead of using google docs you can use google slides and change the entire background of the slide to green!
Thank youuuu so much!! 🙏🏼✨
This is SO good. Thank you!
Awesome tutorial! Def gonna implement this ASAP. Currently cutting footage for the next episode. Thank you, Javier.

it would be a mix of key-framing a crop tool and/or masking, but great idea for a video!

The greenscreen method using instagram stories is the most weird but understandable effort taken to achieve this effect XD

Super helpful! I did a typing effect with a layer mask but it looked rather janky, so these will improve on that method a lot!
Super! thank you!
