    Maybe have a power point side by side list detailing the differences between these units and what those differences mean in real world use cases so the average person understands the benefit in choosing one unit over another in specific scenarios.

      Thank you. I require to do a new video as Victron have now released their II range. Mainly the II is for use in a hybrid situation and the Older version is still the best for complete off grid.

    I believe u can run different sized inverters, Andy’s Off Grid Garage uses a 5kw Multiplus II & a 3kw Phoenix as a generator backup for additional power, if required the Multiplus calls up the Phoenix at a pre-determined set point around 3-4kw.

    • @TheOffGridShop
      @TheOffGridShop  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah Andy uses it for diffrent reasons than the way we design. Andy also had that form a previous system and made it work which was great.

    So the Quattro can act as an automatic transfer switch? I want to hook up shore power and alternator+inverter power sources to it. If so will it prioritize shore power, or be able to program it that way? Thanks.

    • @TheOffGridShop
      @TheOffGridShop  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, yes definitely it will. You will want a gx device to do your programming to easily priotise your shore power. You can program the inveter that it always uses shore power until it's disconnected..

      They have a voltage sensing contactor that opens up. Depending where you are based you might require to have a second contractor installed.

    On victrons data sheet is says the 15kva mp2 can be hooked up in 3 phase of 18 units for 75kw inverter. And the 15kva quattro can be 12 units in 3 phase for 144kw. Doesn't make sense?

    • @TheOffGridShop
      @TheOffGridShop  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes they can be. 3 phase you can do 6 groups of 3 15kvas units. 6 x 45 is my understanding. Single phase you can do upto 12 units in parallel. I hope this helps. You designing a big system?

    What's the maximum output on these inverters when using batteries ? Is the Quatro able to run say an induction stove if you have 28kw of storage ?

    • @mikehaydon89
      @mikehaydon89 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's a 5kva Quattro it will double the out our for 3 seconds.
      If you have look at the data sheet it will all depend on the temperature it's operating at. A 5kva is normally good for 4000 watts for 30 minutes continually.

      The vehicle batteries would have to match the voltage parameters of the Quattro. Most EVs operate at around 400v whereas the Quattro operates around the 48v mark. Best to speak with someone directly www.theoffgridshop.com.au/pages/contact-us-1

    I'm trying to figure out if I should get a Multiplus-II 48v 5,000VA or a Quattro 48v 5,000VA, with two 48v 100ah server rack batteries. My intension is totally off grid mobile workshop Sprinter van. I would like the ability to plug in a generator if the battery power ran low or I needed to charge it off grid. No solar initially, but maybe some solar panels down the road, and even a third 48v battery down the road. But for starters, cost wise, just the inverter/batteries. I'm currently using two Honda EU2200i Generators paralleled. I'm still not quite sure what I should get even after watching this video LOL, I'll probably have to watch it again LOL. I don't need anything super fancy just want a quieter and less gas exhaust fumes and always available power. I think a 5,000VA 48v Victron might be comparable, hopefully a tad better, than my two Honda 2200's in parallel.

    • @TheOffGridShop
      @TheOffGridShop  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      A few things I would consider. If you want ease and it other people will use it get a Quattro. Very easy to have the generator on one input and the grid on the other to plug into mains when required. These days with software you can change the input current. So if you have a small generator and want to turn the amps down you can from the touch screen. And Same as id you have the grid and the right wiring you can turn it up to charge faster through the one input. Me personally I would go a Quattro with a 15 amp generator plus on one and a 32 amp industrial plug on the other input. Does that help?

    • @GlennInLaguna
      @GlennInLaguna 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@TheOffGridShop Thanks! Yes, there might be situations where if I run low on battery power, I would like to plug in a generator to charge or supplement. When I get home for the day I can plug into shore power to recharge for the next days work. So if you were just going with a 48v 5kva Quattro, what other Victron parts would you get? I will pretty much be the only one managing the system. It is to power a few tools, fans and lighting at the same time. My two 2200 Hondas work but when I am in full swing I do hear the generators struggle a bit when I turn on the last few items. But once turned on the Honda's seem okay and I've not had issues, yet. But again I would prefer the quietness and no fumes of an inverter/battery system. Again, what other Victron parts would I need for a Quattro build? What touch screen are you talking about?
