First off, thank you for the support!! I'm glad you liked the boat. And to address the price... you're completely right. This is not affordable for the average person. This just happens to be the most affordable NEW boat at the show, no 23ft center console was cheaper than this. Dropping 100k on just the START to a "hobby" seems crazy. But that's where the used market comes in!! You can get a nice 23ft center console used, that's only a couple years old for 50k. Personally, I don't mind a few scratches in the boat before I buy it ;)
All people look for buying this is "How much a month?" and they finance for 12 or more years. Crazy. BTW I bought a boat like this (SeaCraft) for 15Kish in the 70s. Money is just worthless now.
Glad you enjoyed the video! I couldn't find any 2017s online but I did find a 2018. Everything looked the same except on the 2018, it appeared to not be a complete walk-around. The starboard side of the boat has a seat that is blocking the path to get to the bow of the boat, meaning the only way to get to the front is by walking on the port side of the boat. I'm not sure if that's how it is on all of them but that would be definitely be a con for me, especially as a fisherman. Being able to go around to the front of the boat from both sides is much easier, and if you have a fish on it's easier to walk around the boat to follow that fish if need be.
Crazy what people think are affordable nowa days. I've been having a blast buying old used boats and modernizing them. I have a 1800cc wellcraft been taking offshore. About to find a nice cc offshore 25 to 32ft for 15k
Using affordable as a relative term. Compared to the rest of the new boat market, this is the affordable option. New boats are not “affordable” to most people including myself.
Affordable is a relative term. I definitely don't have 95k to drop on a boat right now lol, or even close to that. But for someone who is in the market for a NEW boat of around this size, this is the best deal around at the miami boat show this year
@@LivinSalty because I was at the Yamaha booth checking out the design they called new but was the same as the 2020 models with minor touches 😂😂. Still was a good review brother. I cant complain. I bought my wife a $93,000 suv that every one on TH-cam just says $93,000 isn’t cheap!!!!
People who haven't been to a boat show in pass couple of years are in for a rude awaiting. The prices on new boats have gone up. I purchased my 210 CC Tidewater in December of 2020 from the folks over in Fort Walton ( great people to deal with). The 150 hp is way more than enough to push her along. So far I have found the Tidewater to be worth the cost. Grant you it isn't a Granny White or Everglades, but you do get a lot bang for your buck.
Glad to hear your enjoying your Tidewater! It seems like a great boat from what I saw. And I completely agree, some people don't understand how much boat prices have gone up the last couple years.
Considering this was last year, yes that's a decent price, in early 21 I payed just about 80k for a 239 SeaPro brand new, with a 300 Suzuki and a trailer, my boat last year was listing for 105k.....
Interesting... I almost thought the same thing. We had a 1998 23ft Sea Pro growing up and I thought that boat seemed bigger than the ones nowadays. But maybe it's because I was a little 10 year old kid running around on it lol
hmm got my 2022 Sea Chaser 24HFC with twin 140's on trailer, tax and all out the door for just under 90K. Mine, short of the windlass, is optioned as full as it can be. The Tidewater, is a nice looking boat just don't know if that's such a great deal.
So I did check out Sea Chaser at the Miami boat show, and their boat that was comparable to this tidewater was actually a little cheaper than the Tidewater, but it was only by about 3k. The Sea Chaser they had at the show only had a single outboard though and in my opinion had less features than the Tidewater which is why I decided to make the video about the Tidewater instead. Sounds like you got a good deal though!
Mortgage 30 years, school loans 20 years, car loan 5 years, boat loan 20 years. If you want a boat buy yourself an older boat for 15k. But a new outboard engine. You're good to go.
How about a shoutout to Legacy Marine that was displaying that boat! Great people located in Stuart with a great selection. Purchased my Tidewater 2500CB with a 400R from them. Highly recommend. Ask for John 👍🏻
Wow I just watched a quick video on that boat and it's beautiful! It's not really my style as I usually am attracted to boats that focus on fishability but it's awesome to see how they were able to incorporate fishing options as well like have multiple live wells. And it has an MSRP of under $90,000 which is definitely shocking... I didn't even notice them at the show! Probably because they look expensive. Thanks for bringing them to my attention!
I know it's crazy. But this was quite literally the cheapest 23ft center console at the show. I think there was one or 2 that were 90k but you got a lot more with this boat for 95k
@@LivinSalty if you wanna notate an affordable boat I’d look at the falcon 22 catamaran they were at the Tampa boat show twin 150s for 126 for a better boat than tide water
Hi Felix, I looked at all those brands plus more. In 2016 we bought a NauticStar and were super pleased until we traded it in last summer for a much larger Sportsman 261 Heritage Center Console for more room and offshore travels. Good luck!
I was really pleasantly surprised by the boat at the price point! I think it depends on what kind of boating your looking to do. To me, Robalo has always been a little more of a luxury brand, so if you are looking to do some fishing I would personally go with the Carolina Bay or the Sportsman. As between those two, from what I saw the Tidewater's are very well made and would be a great option. I'm not saying Sportsman are not great boats, but I've noticed some things at the boat shows about them with the quality that I don't love. Good luck on purchasing your new vessel Capt!
Sportsman 247 is in a totally different class than then your other two options. I would avoid the TW all together, there is a reason it is cheaper (fit and finish)! JMO
Good point Jason. Boat shoppers should be sure to not confuse bayboats with offshore style center consoles. I also found fit and finish on the TW to be lower class than others. Take a close look at condition of sewing on cushions thickness of fabric thickness of cushion etc
Affordable compared to the other boats in this class that can go for over 200k. This is the cheapest of this size at the show. Not everyone can afford this (myself included) but for someone looking to buy a NEW boat of this size… yes this is the affordable option.
Thank you Luis! I was thinking about what you said about the 24 Pursuit and how you said there are plenty of nice boats in that size for a lot less and how you showed me the streamlines. It inspired me to find and make this video showing off the most affordable center console in this size category at the show! Thanks for that
@@LivinSalty great job, everyone is showing the most expensive, cutting edge boats out there and that's easy, finding these kinds of boats for us regular folks is the where is at
For most people (myself included), no it's not affordable. But compared to everything else this size in the NEW market, this is the "affordable" option.
Cobalt doesn't even make a center console... therefore you really can't compare the two. Also its not just a fish boat. It is capable of doing any of the other recreational activities that any other 23ft center console can do. And 95k was the cheapest center console of this size at the show. I don't make the prices, just showin em
@@LivinSalty I know...just shocked where prices have gone...but Excellent Job in reviewing the boat and showing us the features. I agree with your choice in going with that size boat and with a single outboard. A good family/fish boat and given today's market a good buy.
@@ericbryant796 thank you! Ya prices are absolutely insane nowadays for new boats. The used market has come down from it’s crazy covid prices but still not what it used to be.
People complaining about price… the economy is not good and prices for materials are high. But let’s be real boats have always been over priced and with inflation it’s all relative. Hyundai and Kia cars are going for 30+ thousand now. The bottom line is boating is a serious luxury
Absolutely it does! But I did a walkthrough of Pursuit's new 24ft Center console and almost all the comments said $200k was a crazy price for the boat which I responded with "you get what you pay for, build quality". So I wanted to show the other end of the spectrum here 😄
Sea Hunt 234 is about $20k less with trailer and electronics done from the factory. A 95k boat with nothing on it and nothing to move it around with and a payment of around $700 per month with a ridiculous interest rate is not what I would consider to be an affordable boat. I understand everything is much more now. But I bought a brand new Sea Hunt 234 for a hell of a lot less than $95k and was on the water the next day with everything ready to go. I guess they were not at that show. Maybe because they have nothing overpriced like the others that were present and couldn’t sacrifice a boat to put in the show due to their lack of needing to be there because their plant is busy building boats.
So the bilge access on this boat isn't great. If you take a look at 13:05 right in front of the motor you can partially see a hatch on the deck. I believe that was the only access to the bilge. Definitely not ideal
@@LivinSalty I'm not that familiar with all the brands in this niche, but Sportsman's bilge access is so much better than this one, I'd take this on off my list for this reason alone. Imagine being on the water and having to access something in the bilge.
You're completely right, it would be a nightmare. I figured that other boats in this class would have similar bilge accesses. I don't recall what sportsman's looked like
Got about a minute in then looked for the price in the comments and immediately stopped the video. Damn near $100K is not "affordable" (to the vast majority anyway).
I agree with Mike here. Man if you think you can find a boat brand new like this for under 50k please show it to me. It don't exist. This is quite literally the cheapest 23ft center console that was at this show. There was one or two others that were starting at 90k, but you got a lot more with this boat for 95k. Brand new boats just aren't that cheap anymore.
Ya I mean that's the boat market today unfortunately. Charters definitely take a lot of the headache away. boat purchase, maintenance, thousands of dollars of fishing equipment, gas, everything breaking all the time, knowledge of how to fish and where what fish are right then, etc etc etc. So much that goes into it that supporting the charters is a great option!
hmmm interesting! I didn't even think about jet drive boats... I just looked em up and they seem to start at $93,000 which once you load it up will be a little more expensive than this 23ft Tidewater. I'm not sure about the pros and cons to fishing with a jet drive boat; if it's as capable and reliable offshore as an outboard is. I'll have to do my research on it!
@@LivinSalty a fully loaded 25 ft dual engine that has little to no maintenance is in the lower 90s, a 22 ft that is very similar to whats in this video is in the 70s with dual engine up to about 500 hp total. 🙂
My guess is most people with take a loan for this thing and be in debit for years. If the average person can not buy a boat in cash its not what I would call reasonable. Figure you need a truck, a car for wife a house and all the other crap the average person has I would say Most the boats you see on the water are not paid for and the people can hardly afford the fuel to go fishing.
Completely agree. The average person nowadays cannot just go buy a new boat outright anymore . Much better off going to buy used in my opinion instead of taking a loan out and paying it off for years to come
Not very much a fishing boat..:that’s what I consider to be a center console to be is a straight up fishing boat…all those seat cushions are just waiting to get hooks in them
This boat is not a straight fishing boat for sure, but it has the balance and ability to do both. U shaped cushions in front are removeable, just like we have on our personal boat. As far as other cushions on the boat, we never hook any of them. Just have to be careful about it thats all
Affordable? 😂 who can just go out and afford a 95k boat. I struggled spending 10k cash for my 17 ft skiff much less finance that kind of money for 12% interest.
Affordable compared to other boats in the market. There are center consoles this size that are 200k+ So this is the cheapest (or most affordable) relative to the market. No the average person is not going out and spending 95k on a new boat, myself included.
I "boat" more than I "fish" ... I'd buy a C-Dory 22' ... Then knock off the worthless bow rails and put a 24v trolling motor..... Good for calm days out to 5 miles. Inshore anywhere. Drafts 8".... And is a very VERY decent "day on the water" boat. Can easily be air-conditioned with a 5000 btu widow unit and generator.... It can sleep 4.... In Florida? 1 - 2 hour storms pop up in 15 - 30 minutes..... If you are an "over the top" off shore fisher-MAN... You ain't buying this boat anyway. Anyone that would buy this boat would be better off with a C-Dory 22' or 23'....
That seems more like a northern boat. Not much exterior space for passengers and no wind in your hair experience while driving. Also looks more like a slow cruiser than a fast and fun boat to drive around in.
This right here is EXACTLY why the used boat market is just as out of control as the new boat market. And, that applies to everything else (cars, motorcycles, etc...). In the matter of two years, everything doubles???? Go ask someone.....ANYone, if their salary has doubled in the last 2-3yrs....and, that's assuming they didn't lose their job altogether. *Here's what will disgust most fair-minded people... Most of the issues that caused these price hikes (i.e. Covid related supply chain), are no longer issues. It's just that these greedy, corrupt, pigs never dropped their prices. Lumber and drywall was like that. Now, all the shelves at Home Depot are stocked full of lumber and drywall, but the prices never dropped. THAT's a problem....and a big one.* So, if people are still making the money they made from 2020, who can afford a boat like this? What bank will finance this? The housing market imploded in 2011 over VERY similar reasons (i.e. financing a $300K home to someone who makes $40K per year). The math doesn't add up. And, it won't add up in this industry either. This is going to happen to boats if they don't un-f##k this industry. But....I digress. It seems to be a very nice boat. *P.S. Not knocking Livin' Salty (I'm a big fan of his videos). I'm just sayin'.* This country is in for a financial reckoning of proportions I don't think we've ever seen. When that happens, you'll start everything from repo sales, to "take over the payments" sale, or "just pay off my loan" sales. As cool of a video as this was....this should frighten people, not inspire them. The comments below paint a similar picture.
Totally agree, the market is crazy. I appreciate the POV. Personally, I've always been a "buy it used" kinda person. So I couldn't see myself spending this much on a 23ft boat.
@@LivinSalty Amen, to every word... If something is going to go wrong with a boat, it will happen in those first 2yrs. So, buying one 3yrs old, that's been taken care-of is the way to go IMHO. But, right now the market is so jacked up, that even used at 3yrs old is out of reach. It's tough to sit back and wait things out....especially, if you don't have a current boat. And, like I said, the terrifying part is that I don't think what we're getting ready to face is going to be something quick. I hope to God I'm wrong. But, that said, keep these videos coming. There's always something cool to learn. Sometimes the lesson is a bit macabre....but, a good lesson none-the-less. Great job with this. Walking a convention floor, and making videos is a lot of work. So, that end of things hasn't gone un-noticed either, brother. 👍

I find it funny everyone screaming that’s 90k, if you ever go buy a new boat and pay MSRP you are an idiot! You could probably pick that boat up with trailer and electronics for 80 in a month or so after “summer”
Are you saying that because of Tidewater or because of the size boat? I'm curious because I've never ridden on one. I've never heard anything bad about them though
@@LivinSalty because of the design. From the fit and finish to the hull design. Go back and look at the clip of the hatch when you put the camera in there, u can see the the cut lines from the liner to the cap at 12:13... And the reason I made this video is to show people what you get for your money, since when I made the 24 pursuit walkthrough video for 200k, everyone said they were out of their minds asking that. Exactly, the cost of everything has gone up and that includes expenses for these boat manufactures. This boat had a 250 on it, and the max hp is 300
It's not so much as everything has gone up, the U.S. dollar is just worth a lot less than just a few years ago.
Affordable? Funny none of them are worth what their asking.
Affordable is a relative term. I definitely don't have 95k to drop on a boat right now lol, or even close to that. But for someone who is in the market for a NEW boat of around this size, this is the best deal around at the miami boat show this year
I know right. At Bass Pro Shop they have a 13 mako with a 40hp mercury for 23 GRAND!! Don’t drink the bong water. 😂

This boat show was over a year ago, how do u remember what was there 😂
@@LivinSalty because I was at the Yamaha booth checking out the design they called new but was the same as the 2020 models with minor touches 😂😂.
Great boat and video!
Considering this was last year, yes that's a decent price, in early 21 I payed just about 80k for a 239 SeaPro brand new, with a 300 Suzuki and a trailer, my boat last year was listing for 105k.....
It seems to me that the 22-23' Boats Shrunk in size and length. Small Bow area and Small Fishing Cockpit In Stern area.
Great video my friend
Thank you I appreciate it!!
Heck ya, was a great display!
I would opt for the new Glasstream 25, that replaced their 24.
@@LivinSalty my pleasure.

Only 95000. I'll take 2😅

Wow, $95k being considered affordable now and with no elecronics or trailer. Same boat was 60k back in 2016 with a 300hp, trailer and Garmin.
I know it's crazy. But this was quite literally the cheapest 23ft center console at the show. I think there was one or 2 that were 90k but you got a lot more with this boat for 95k

They make a very nice boat. I'm in SWFL so i am looking at the Carolina Bay 25 or the Sportsman 247 or Robalo 246. having a hard time deciding.
@@LivinSalty thanks Salty, keep the videos rolling!
95k is way too much
95k is still a lot of money, I agree. But there are literally no cheaper boats at the show for what your getting.
100k and no head? Also, finish in that rear storage compartment looked shatty at best.
Affordable?? Y'all got money!!
Affordable compared to the other boats in this class that can go for over 200k. This is the cheapest of this size at the show. Not everyone can afford this (myself included) but for someone looking to buy a NEW boat of this size… yes this is the affordable option.
Good video but tight boat !! Very little room !! More to choose from for the $$$
It did seem a little tight. I wasn't sure if it was just me or not. I'll keep my eyes peeled at future shows for 23ft CC with more room!
It show 300 max motor - what was on this boat? No motor review?
Whoops, looks like I forgot to mention that. My bad. It had a Yamaha 250 on it
Not sure why you’d go below for head, would be much better in the captain’s seat
Does it include a trailer ?
good question... it did not mention it on the specs sheet so I assume not. But I could be wrong on that
I was thinking 25k lol
The motor alone almost cost 25k…

$95K for a fishboat? Its a nice boat...but that's like Cobalt pricing....and that's no Cobalt. 😂
Cobalt doesn't even make a center console... therefore you really can't compare the two. Also its not just a fish boat. It is capable of doing any of the other recreational activities that any other 23ft center console can do. And 95k was the cheapest center console of this size at the show. I don't make the prices, just showin em

Only 95K 😂😂😂
People complaining about price… the economy is not good and prices for materials are high. But let’s be real boats have always been over priced and with inflation it’s all relative. Hyundai and Kia cars are going for 30+ thousand now. The bottom line is boating is a serious luxury
5:38 …….. There’s always room for head.
🙄😂
The price reflect the quality of the build.
I don't remember seeing sea hunt there, but I will keep an eye out for them at the palm beach boat show next week

Zero bilge access? I didn't see any.
I don't recall what sportsman's looked like
The boat market is going to crash so hard, this is absurd.
Got about a minute in then looked for the price in the comments and immediately stopped the video. Damn near $100K is not "affordable" (to the vast majority anyway).

Just have to be careful about it thats all
But.... it's a tidewater
Have you had a bad experience with tidewater?
The boat is not worth that. The 24 model in 2015 was 60k. Way over priced

Interesting, I've never heard of C-dory before. Neat little boat!
THAT's a problem....and a big one.*
So, if people are still making the money they made from 2020, who can afford a boat like this?
