The reason I am utterly obsessed with Want, even more than I was with Move, is because in Move he was the most precise and polished dancer on stage, every movement was so deliberate and perfectly placed and the backup dancers were trying to keep up. But in Want, he's lazy. The backup dancers' movements are more exaggerated, sharper, more traditionally perfect kpop dancing, whereas Taemin's movements are muted, like he's just marking the choreography, he can't even be bothered doing it properly. It looks lazy and arrogant and effortless and it is utterly, utterly brilliant.
You put into words perfectly what I've been feeling from Want! I've described it as "relaxed" but that doesn't capture the other part of why I like it, and it's because that's the concept, he doesn't NEED to be passionate and perfect and always doing complicated moves because he'll seduce everyone anyway. The "lack" of effort is the most intentional part of Want and what Taemin's trying to do, and I hope it doesn't get seen as an actual lack of talent. He's so good he can move muted, and is still mesmerizing, and he knows it. I'm really proud of him for doing this, he's put in so much work over so many years he deserves to be "arrogant" with his dancing lol

Honestly Taemin, Ten (nct) along with Kai (Exo) and Shotaro (riize) are some of the most unique dancers I've ever seen. Not even based on skill or technique alone but like they move to music differently.

i never realized how strange the choreography was until it was stripped down to this. really shows how stage presence and delivery makes such a huge difference. definitely shows the alluring charm that taemin has as well cause i can't imagine anyone doing a cover of this and still make it original

This is the first time I’m actually seeming something of Taemin’s work, but WOW. I’m truly astounded that someone can put so much emotion and fluidity into their moves that watching them is so moving and entirely pleasing. Also his outfit gave the performance itself extra points, I digged it a lot.

They’re drunk, but they’re honest and let their emotions out most in that moment. I think that’s why Taemin danced like that, it depicts the song more accurately, but you can still tell that he can feel the groove. It’s honestly amazing and genius

I love how clever and subtle the choreo is, you get small soft movements that lull into a sense of calmness, and then they hit you with a pop crackle. I love it.

As someone who danced, it is crazy how well he was control over his body. He makes dances look simple but the technique in them is crazy.
There're songs that are just not for being covered and Taemin's songs are one of them.

This is the first time I’m actually seeming something of Taemin’s work, but WOW. I’m truly astounded that someone can put so much emotion and fluidity into their moves that watching them is so moving and entirely pleasing. Also his outfit gave the performance itself extra points, I digged it a lot.

Absolutely effortless! He just has this grace and ease about him that just makes him one of the best dancers of this generation! So proud! It feels weird saying that considering he is like 10 years older than me but I cant help but feel happy with how much he has accomplished!
