- Almost Ruined Family Dinner | Brisket Mess
Aaron and Tristan are making the family dinner, but it goes sideways really fast and Aaron almost ruins family dinner. This is a big brisket mess!
Recipe:
2 TABLESPOON GARLIC POWDER
2 TABLESPOON ONION POWDER
2 TABLESPOON PAPRIKA
2 TEASPOON CHILI POWDER
⅓ CUP SALT
⅓ CUP BLACK PEPPER
METHOD:
WHEN READY TO COOK, SET TRAEGER TEMPERATURE TO 225℉ AND PREHEAT, LID CLOSED FOR 15 MINUTES. FOR OPTIMAL FLAVOR, USE SUPER SMOKE IF AVAILABLE.
FOR THE RUB: MIX TOGETHER GARLIC POWDER, ONION POWDER, PAPRIKA, CHILI PEPPER, KOSHER SALT AND PEPPER IN A SMALL BOWL.
SEASON THE BRISKET ON ALL SIDES WITH THE RUB.
PLACE BRISKET, FAT SIDE DOWN ON GRILL GRATE. COOK BRISKET UNTIL IT REACHES AN INTERNAL TEMPERATURE OF 160℉, ABOUT 5 TO 6 HOURS. WHEN BRISKET REACHES INTERNAL TEMPERATURE OF 160℉, REMOVE FROM GRILL.
DOUBLE WRAP MEAT IN ALUMINUM FOIL AND ADD THE BEEF BROTH TO THE FOIL PACKET. RETURN SMOKED BRISKET TO GRILL AND COOK UNTIL IT REACHES AN INTERNAL TEMPERATURE OF 204℉, ABOUT 3 HOURS MORE.
ONCE FINISHED, REMOVE FROM THE GRILL, UNWRAP FROM FOIL AND LET REST FOR 15 MINUTES. SLICE AGAINST THE GRAIN AND SERVE.
It would be cool to see cook off with two teams:
1. AARON, LUCAS, & TRISTAN
VS
2. JARED, MASON, & MARK (Kylie’s hubby)
That would be so fun!
Now that would be fun to watch Mason has a competition mind
Why Mark? You never see him cook
Great idea. I miss the St John's days when the two families were more involved with each other. I know they are all busy though.
Love watching Tristan and Dad cooking dinner together.
I’m loving when you cooking with Tristan. He is such a sweet and kind guy!
Tristan is def a great addition to the fam . Ofcourse anyone that can cook is welcome lol
Would love to watch Lucas making a trio of chefs here! He is SO talented too! Such an opportunity to learn from Tristan’s work experience!
AGREED!
I'm loving the cooking content with tristan
Very helpful 💯💯
This is becoming my favorite thing to watch. I’m gonna need two a week at least. Keep it coming guys!
I am learning so much from Tristan everytime he cooks something. I would've love to have the recipe for the seasonings you used on the brisket.😊
OMG Brisket is my absolute favorite. Please shop me a plate. lol Great job Tristen and Aaron.
" go smoke a brisket" why does that sound like an amazing way to tell someone off? i know it was not meant like that but for some reason that's what my brain thought of.
😅
I’m now wanting to get a smoker. That brisket looks fantastic. Keep up the great videos!
Aaron with the humidity you probably need to stir the pellets maybe, just an idea. I absolutely love brisket and want a peace!!
It looked so good so tender and the juicers left on the foil as Aaron said great dipping sauce.
I bet Joe would have loved that too hope he is going ok.
Looks amazing! I need to see the trio, Aaron, Lucas and Tristan
Agreed both wishes are coming true, and you'lls lost son is back home with you'll and you'll are all going to have a blessed wonderful family vacation, may God continue to pour out His many blessings on you all and keep you'll safe and sound out there, keeping you'll in our thoughts and prayers always, thanks again for sharing with us all 😊❤😊
I bought hubby a square stand up ...pellets on the bottom with water. That smoker got SOOOO MUCH use. I mean this man smoked & grilled in 3 ft of snow!! He loved to cook!!!! And he loved his Smoker!!
I"ve always done it that you use your pinkie finger to split the wishbone, each person hooks it with their pinkie
Same!
All the food you cook looks so good Arron
My son has the exact same thermometer as you , he absolutely loves it. Worth every penny.
That does look sooooo good. It seems that Tristan is at your house quite a bit so I wonder if he actually has a job somewhere. Perhaps you find a way to get him to open a restaurant somewhere as his cooking looks so good.
I love brisket! Living in Texas, brisket is a big deal!! For me, where is the barbecue sauce? LOL! I know that it can be eaten without, but I do enjoy it with barbecue sauce. Your brisket looks absolutely splendid…The crispy crust, and the tender inside is just the way you want it! thanks for sharing! Blessings!❤
Same❤❤😂😂😂
Reminds me when you had the nutritionist come in and cook healthy food. Tristan has kicked up next level. Top notch.
First the nutritionist and later chef Cody.
Both had offered good recipes and techniques.
It is hard to replicate flavours and cuttings, and combinations of seasoning without practice and passion.
Tristan really fits in. I am so happy he is back in your lives. He was a missing piece as well. Now just to get Joe back. Miss seeing him. Hope he is doing ok
Joe’s mental health should matter more than peoples need for entertainment.
My husband is on 2 cook off teams here in South Texas so has experience making briskets and we've had the same issue with our Traegar not dropping the pellets evenly from time to time. There is nothing like a good brisket. I'm glad that you were able to not only salvage it, but that it turned out so well. I love that Tristan is a standard in your videos. He's a great guy and a wonderful addition to the family.
Tristan really. Fits in with your family. And he's a good man. Love how him and Aaron bond over cooking. It's like. They always seemed like father and son all along. You can really see their bond together.
Aaron, don't forget you have other boys that like to cook.
He doesn’t need to be reminded. You need to be respectful with your comments.
Thank you for sharing the adaptations and experiences of preparing a family dinner.
I appreciate the way Tristan transfers and demonstrates his knowledge and skills in cooking/kitchen.
To trim the right amount of fat from the brisket requires a special knife and can not be cut in a random sense.
I noticed that he applies minimal waste cooking, as well! Very practical and economic.
Tip for Bella: maybe it is easier to try red meat on a thin slice of (or flat) bread.
Have fun with Tfistan.
😅
haha You are supposed to wait a few days until the wishbone dries out. Did you ever go to a relative's and see a wishbone on the windowsill? It was because they were drying it out, most likely. That was adorable though! Loved it!
My dad was a MASTER at brisket! He smoked his for 24 hours waking up every 2-3 hours to turn it! SO YUMMY! GREAT job on your first try! I understand the anxiety when you "think" it's ruined! Those are usually the ones that turn out the BEST!! 🤤
I have so much admiration and respect for our elder. They were Master at cooking delicious and healthy food, with simple but ingenious ustensils.
Man I wish I was there eating with you all. That looks so good
SUGGESTION FOR SMOKING: put the meat on your smoker early in the morning and let it cook all day so you can monitor it for those just in case moments! Also my meater probes sadly never worked correctly! LOVE the videos! Brisket looks yum!
Brisket is amazing! We love pulled brisket versus sliced. My husband switched to an electric smoker because of the pellets jamming. Better temperature control.
I miss seeing Joe.. I hope he's doing good! Hope he pops on soon to say hi.
He chose to step away from TH-cam for his own mental health. What part of that do you not understand? His mental health should be more important than your need for entertainment from him.
I think it would be fantastic if you hired him as a personal chef. I feel that would be a great partnership since he knows the family and the dietary needs/preferences. The kids love him so they are more likely to listen to him and learn from him which can be huge when they get out on their own so they don’t spend so much on eating out because they have good culinary skills. Lastly, you can tell that he is absolutely passionate about cooking.
I’m loving the cooking content with Tristan. How is Joe doing such miss him on the videos. Love you guys ❤❤❤
Hi Aaron , I haven't tried brisket before but I have tried olive's that my dad made even it was one of my grandmother's recipes and I didn't like it because I am not a fan of olive's. And it's good seeing you and Tristan cooking in the kitchen together. I am still learning how to cook it will take time for me to get used to cooking in the kitchen. In my family we have spit roast once in a while when my dad invites his mates over for dinner. Maybe one day I'll have to try it to see if I like it. That looks delicious. Learning how to cook is very important in life .
Tristan is amazing!! Brisket probably eight and one half to a nine!?.Hope Joe is doing ok!! 🧡
OMG! That looks like the BEST BRISKET ever!!! My favorite BBQ of all time!!!❤❤❤
Send JOE ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD MISS SEEING HIM ❤
Imagine if you had a contest where the winner would fly out and spend a day with your family: that would be so cool!
You are supposed to pull the wishbone with your pinky fingers. 😂
I wanted to crawl through the screen and have a bite. The brisket looked so good.
That brisket, look fantastic could almost taste it. ❤️🥰
I've never had brisket before but that looked really good. All over youtube I see all these people using traegers or other smokers and I'm sitting over here still wishing for a little charcoal grill and some kind of meat I can actually afford LOL
I love seeing Tristan around but I miss seeing you cook with Lucas. I hope he’s isn’t feeling left out. Remember he’s moving out soon so spend as much time as you can with him.
He doesn’t need to be reminded. Aaron doesn’t forget about any of his children.
I think Aaron and crystal are very aware of every stage every child is in, especially with Lucas already planning on moving out.
Tristan looks like he could be masons older brother
Another awesome video ❤thank you.
We dryer out the wish bone first. And we did it with our pinky finger to brake it
Brisket looks amazing.
Next time you see Joe, tell him hello from Missouri.
Omg that Brisket looked delish ❤
Glad that brisket turned out fine
Yes you should hire Tristen to be your personal chef. I enjoy seeing him in the videos. Also How is Joe doing? Sure do miss seeing him in videos.
They already shared recently how he’s doing.
I love seeing Tristan & Aaron cooking! I do miss seeing Joe in the vlogs & videos, I hope he's doing well.
Same ❤
Would like clarification as to what “place skin side down” is, in regards to placing a brisket into the smoker
I would give Aaron the credit because he’s the man that went without the sleep that cooked it. Your son carved it up so they both deserve credit.❤❤
Tristan is not his son he was a foster child there is a difference.
@@foxyplayzgames5210 he still considers him his son
@@foxyplayzgames5210in previous videos on the Crazy Pieces channel they include him in the 18 kids.
@@foxyplayzgames5210take your misery elsewhere. Aaron would say otherwise about Tristan which is all that matters.
Maybe you could also ask Stephen from the miller family too. Since he also do brisket all the time.
Now that looks so good.hugs 💕💕
I'm with Tristen. You all give 10s easily lol
Sams club and Costco have great brisket and ribs
With the wishbone you have to let it dry for a couple days first. Lol
More cooking with you and Tristan.
That looked delicious.
Bonding over a shared love of food is really special. I believe that it has made Tristan home easier not just with Aaron but also Lucas. Tristan was a piece that was missing from your family. There is no doubt in my mind that God planned for Tristan to reach out to Aaron and Crystal after all these years. It's a testimony on how you touched his heart years ago because he knew it was safe to call you when he needed a bit of help. This sort of experience is why trusting in God isn't just the blind faith that some people it to be. God bless your whole family. 😊❤
Good afternoon enjoy cooking together love watch you love Tristian came back missing piece that came back 🎉😊
Your channel should be called Crazy Kitchen!
We cook our brisket in an electric smoker...with wood chips...yummy!
Looks really good!! What is the rub recipe you used?
Pulling the wishbone. Well that was a 1st! lol To funny
I missed how Tristan joined the crazies.
Ex- Foster that they lost contact with and now reunited ❤❤❤
You should hire Tristan as the family chef
He basically is the family chef these days. Which is awesome!
We had a similar thing happen. Turns out the pellets had gotten a little damp and stuck together making the wall. It is super frustrating! Storage of pellets is super important!
looks soo good
Good job, Aaron and Tristan!!
Oh come on Bella! Brisket is sooooooo goooood!
Her taste buds need to grow up!!!!
Ok, Dad time to change your Profile picture....Time to add Tristan with!!! you
Aaron, unfortunately Treagers are known for jamming.I always keep an extra bag of pellets. The one I'm using plus one. when I empty a bag,I buy another so you always have a backup.
I also use my pellet grill to cook steak, chicken and burgers. Turn the temp to 500 and cook away. It's way better than charcoal.
I never ate a brisket before and now I need this recipe. Gonna go buy me a smoker now
CAN WE HAVE THE RECIPE FOR THE RUB PLEASE? It looks amazing! Great job guys..
Tristan needs his own restaurant
I couldn't agree more
Really hope he gets adopted like Melinda 🥹
I miss seeing Joe on your video's but Tristan is so awesome. Making a great brisket is a process but well worth it.
That is good you guys are working together
The wish bone needs to be dried . We hang ours off the spice rack for a few days
Would love to know what seasoning you put together for the rub in the brisket!!! :))
Who else likes the video befit watching ? I love the long video sitting down in hot my snacks now time to watch video 😁
Bravo 👏🏻 it looks fantastic 💖
And this is why I can't have brisket too much meat like steak I love how are bond over food
How isJoe? Does he go riding with you? Miss watching you and Joe. Enjoy watching you cook.
They already shared how he’s doing. He doesn’t want to be on TH-cam, so quit digging for information. People need to start respecting his wishes.
I've never seen a wish bone do that. We held I'd under the corner of the kitchen table plus the rules y'all said. I love smoking brisket. I stuff it with peppers and other yummy stuff we like.
Would have been a good Sunday dinner with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese 😋🤤
I love brisket but in a slow cooker with Dr Pepper add brown sugar cook for a hour and eat on sandwiches it’s yummy
YUM 😋. How is the Cruise going? 🌞🌴🛳️🏝️🚢🍹🧉🍍🥥🍋🥭
Imagine when Joe comes back too. Trio of chefs.
Who said he’s coming back?
@@dearleah7299 How unfriendly towards him...
@@chrisf8021 it’s not “unfriendly”, it’s calling you and everyone else out for not listening to someone that has opened up about their mental health. No wonder the suicide rate is what it is. No one listens! His mental health is more important than your need for entertainment. Do better.
They make a fortune at BBQ places selling the "burnt ends".

It breaks like that if you haven't let it dry out for a week or so....or at least that is what I've experienced.
You are supposed to let the wish bone dry willingly 😅
Wish bone in the middle, both win and lose. OK a wish bone should get a while to get totally dry. Usually the person pulling most is with the bone without thick parted lining. -- What would be Joe added in this kitchen.
looks so yummy 🤤
When you pull the wishbone apart, it has to be very dry otherwise it won’t work!
It's rare but equal size wishbones ... both wishes come true 😊
