Brother, I couldn’t believe it. My heart was ripped. I thought about leaving after I spoke with you and the guys. I had no one to pull for in the race. I’m 100% Landon Huffman fan sir, and proud to be! You guys are gonna be fast next race! Keep your head up champ!
Keep diggin brotha 💪 👍😎🏁
I really appreciate the honesty and the humility. You are doing this right. Keep digging and learning. You have the tools, talent, and support to get it right and be competitive.
I have been watching you now for about a year and have enjoyed all your adventures, especially the tech stuff. Just remember that no one learns anything from winning. But there is all kinds of learning that can and should take place with not meeting expectations. Just remember it's not where you start, but where you finish. So hang in there.
Great display of humility. You guys will get it turned around and be up front soon!
I’m so impressed with your positive attitude after such a rough start to 2024! You’ll rise above this and prevail! Grassroots Global folks are ALWAYS up to the challenge! Pulling for you and firmly believing that this will buff out quickly!
Just talked to Jimmy Mooring for about 30 minutes. One of the nicest and most down to earth guys you will ever talk to. We both agreed that with the help Marcus has provided and everything being first class on Landon's car along with Landon's driving talent, it is definitely a winning combination. The call started with me asking Jimmy is there any way Landon could get a Dually this season to tow that beautiful race car. Little did I know..........🍀🍀🍀🍀
Greatly appreciate the support but please do not call anyone and ask for favors on my behalf!
Jimmy and I talk regularly and we are on the same page, if I need something from him I’ll ask!
Apologize if I did something wrong. I was going to go half on one with him before I knew the full story. Please forgive me. I promise it will not happen again.
Cuz it's no Olds cutlass. Brand new venture for you and your small team. Our team will have the same struggles being we race bowman gray and are gonna try martinsville and others this year. Yall are badasses just a curve of learning.
Might be worth a shot to see if puryear has some knowledge that can be put in the memory bank. Hes a smart smart man.
Keep your head up man. You’ll get it turned around!
It's good that you have somewhere to take it to. Glad they found the problem.
Usually I just screw mine all up and nobody wants to help fix it. 🤣🤣
First time actually at one of your races. Got a hat. Met your wife. Sorry you didn’t make the field. Better days ahead. Glad you learned a lot at the chassis shop. All good from here on. Movin forward.
Water under the bridge bud. Keep on digging 👍🏁👍🏁
Keep your head up Landon love watching the videos. Lotta good race car drivers have missed the show before. Sounds like you got a pretty good handle on where to go next. Good luck the rest of the season. It definitely sucked not seeing you in the race I look for your videos every week here in Michigan.
Great attitude kid now that you found a big issue with the car it will be nice to see you up front 🎉go get em 🏁
I have no doubt this will turn around in a hurry. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Thank you so much for the honest look at real racing. It is wild how much a simple miss can throw off an entire weekend. And that goes for my 9yr. old son's kart, all the way through the CARS Tour, up to NASCAR Cup. It is all the same gut-punch. But we cannot wait to see how you bounce back! Go send it, Landon!
It sucks…but also good news you found a proper issue - only way is forward now 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hopefully that is all the issues. Best of luck on the testing this weekend. Make sure its fixed before I drive down from NJ to go to the May Wilkesboro CARS tour race. :)
Well thank you for keeping us with you. You are too good of a racer to have many of those days. Keep it going.
Days like that make you appreciate the good days that much more. Big career ahead of you.
Marcus is a great guy.. Glad he helped figure out what the problem may have been..
You will get it all straight, cheering for ya. Cya john
So proud of you guys. You made great progress in the findings. I knew you guys would figure it out! GGs
Good you learned something!! Can’t buy that! Hang in there, we are here, win lose or draw….you are a class act ,keep it up 👍
Props for honesty. I guess you feel a bit stupid.A bad time, but good learning experience.
One question: did you scale the car before you left?
Keep your head up brother!!! This is gonna be a GREAT YEAR!!!!!
I turned the race on right after the start and kept looking and looking. Watched the ticker about 10 times through and had no idea why you weren’t on the track. I figured it had to do with the issues you had but finally looked on X and learned what happened. Dude, let me tell ya, the only reason I sub to Flo is to watch you race. I’m a CARSTour guy because of you. I live in Indy and it’s more of a ASA/CRA region up here but I follow you. Don’t worry, we all understand how racing goes. Learn from it and get back at it. Can’t wait till next race!!
I also subscribed to Flo so I can watch live.
Hang in there Landon. Its a learning curve but you guys are learning and making progress. I thought it was a crap move on CARS tour. It was only 34 cars total, not 40+. They need to state a car limit in rile book. Marcus is a good guy and I remember when he first started chiefing for Timothy Peters in late model many years ago.
It happens to everyone is racing. There's been a few times we have been out to lunch on the setup. Hopefully you found the issue, it sounds like you did. Good luck in the next race!
Keep your chin up brother, you have alot going for you. Have patience it will come to you!
Might off dodged a bullet with a blessing in disguise. They were tearing shit up.
Very impressed with you.
Got up and seeked some help signs of a man on a mission. Keep head up and going forward. Great team work.
Only one way to go that’s up ! Champions never quit ! 👍
Oh man, tough day for sure. The car looks awesome, the merch booth looks awesome, and great to see the wife and dad helping out along with the rest of the crew. Can someone reading this let me know how many cars tried to qualify for the race and how many start? Glad you found some things in the shop to help out for next time.
When my family raced 4 cyl mods, we took our car to a late-model sportsman driver/setup guy. He sat that car up and took all day scaling it out, moving weight around, and finding the right tires to correct the staggard. When to track and. my father could not drive the car; pushed so hard. Took it back to the shop where we set the car up, and the guy sold us a bent shock. He apologized and gave us a new shock out of the box; the rest of the year, we had a top 3 car. You will figure it out and will not look back.
Its only up from here. Shake it out & hop back on the saddle 🍻
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FAILURE !!!
There are situations where something didn't work out and those are "Solutions that did not work".
But in this case, you learned NEVER to simply ASSUME that a replacement component is a "DROP IN REPLACEMENT".
Even if it comes from the supplier you always use AND ESPECIALLY if it comes from a different supplier.
Moving into this class is going to be a steep learning curve, not just for you but for your entire team.
The difference in the mount position of a suspension component is something that you will probably not see with the naked eye even if the 2 parts are side by side so don't beat yourselves up about it.
It took someone with way more experience than you and your team to get to the bottom of and I hope that you have video of the whole process, all the things that were checked, how they were checked and hopefully an explanation of why they were checked.
May I suggest that you and ALL your guys binge watch that video with stop and slo-mo as appropriate, see what is being done or checked or tested and LOOK and LISTEN, ask yourselves why is it being done and figure out what the effect would be if the setting or measurement was different.
STEAL WITH YOUR EYES AND EARS - everybody else does !!!!
Keep digging You guys are smart enough and have enough connections that you will figure it out
Glad you figured out some issues to correct.
Keep your heads up boys. Put it in the rearview and continue on.
Man that sucks. The good thing is it was the first race. You have the whole season to make up for it. When I saw the title, I was afraid you got caught up in a wreck and the car, or you, were hurt. Thank goodness that wasnt the case. Go get them next time! Glad R & S were able to find some stuff.
What was that big plate bolted to the rf while y’all was looking at it in the shop? Is that something similar to a hammond plates to check toe camber and caster?
Very humbling sport ,im sure yall will be fine !!! See ya at the next one
that great news I'm glad you found something nothing worse than fighting something and not finding the cause
Landon, do you have a schedule or list of tracks you’ll be running the modified at? Great video as always hang in there.
I think you’re onto something it doesn’t take much to off on your set up and I think you said a inch is a lot best of luck and we’re pulling for you
Glad something was found it will be better now
Happens to anyone who ever raced a car.Never feels good, but you have to move on and get ready for whatever you will be racing next. One thing you know,is that it wasn't the driver,it was the new racecar, and soon you may have her figured out.Look out of the windshield, not the rearview mirror.Keep positive Champ, you got this.
I know you were disappointed about not making the field, years ago we didn't make the race at Myrtle Beach, but the next week we won the Thanksgiving race SNRP.
I'm sure you share the sentiment...but I can't wait to see how it tests
glad you found something
What series runs the limited late models he races? I know CARS tour is for the pros, but I have no idea for limiteds
A real bummer when parts aren’t right Definitely something you would have caught if you had actual scale numbers to set up to other than pull-down values
Should have just done a Kulwicki lap since the left side was high.😂
I literally didn't want to watch the race once I knew you hadn't qualified. I know it hurt you and your team a whole lot more, but I believe it's going to make you guys stronger because of it. Keep pounding, good things are coming!!
I swear it looks like the locker is bound up.
Well the best part about being on the bottom is the only way left is up. Keep digging brother.
Who welded in that shock mount ? Car builder or you guys ? Shock mounts come with the new build correct ?! Tear them up at New River , hope you post the testing this coming weekend also !
Shock mounts on the rearend were incorrect. So that’s not the chassis builder fault or of our doing
Sometimes its the little things that kill! but hey its a brand new car and you will get the bugs ironed out I'm sure!
Keep digging and you will be fine!
It sucks MAJOR ASS BUD!! But you will get it!! Keep your chin up and KEEP DIGGIN!!!
Better get you some Hammond motorsports set up plates. That rear end ain’t square
Keep diggin brotha 💪 👍😎🏁
Hang in there, no where but UP from there.
It isn't funny but I will admit I laughed my ass off when you said "and at this point right now I knew we were royally screwed."
Glad you got back to the shop and (hopefully) figured it out though
Were did you find her? I cant get mine to put gas in the car
Cale Gale knows how you feel.
WOW... 1" higher..... that would change a bunch on the scale readings.....I was that bad one night. It was because my crew tightened the upper A arm bolts TIGHT....A arms wouldn't move....lol...pushed like a dump truck
Keep digging dude you will get it!! Just remember how much of a turd that 12 and 22 was before you got them rolling
I would appreciate a diagram to illustrate the shock mount problem.
So it put too much wedge in the car, over driving the right front. Have help on a Dirt Late model and had that problem.
So you were tight in, loose off. You will get if fixed, just keep up the work.
I saw this happen in person and I was so sad I hate the way local track racing has become with all the money and big names have helped it but also ruined it it’s always the big teams with the most money that win and I hate it
I swear it looked like chassis is binding up. The front end looked stiff.....
Let this put a bit of a chip on your shoulder and go tear up the rest of this year. Change the "Hell Tour" to the "F The World Tour". 🤙🏻🤙🏻
there is going to be good bad terrible and awesome just life you can doit
Wouldn't putting the car on a set of scales shown that the car had a shit ton of wedge in it??
Glass half full. You probably couldn't have a worst day than not making the race. Every day after this can only be better. Just think how many great Cup drivers only made a race by a champion provisional. It happens to the best .
You're smart reaching out for help. Better days ahead.
You will get it back up front I know that for a fact.
A easy fix..just needed a shock mount..
Oops. Yeah. Crossweight for a dirt car won't work on a asphalt car.
All it takes is one wrong part to cascade into one big mess.
Ive been there done that an it sucks lol
If only the cars looks added speed.. you’d have sat on the pole
I just don’t understand
high rock vodka has invested so much money into you. Dale jr speaks so highly of you. Why would he let you go to a track and not have the equipment right? I know it’s not his car but why can’t you go use his pull down rig ? Your working so hard you don’t deserve this embarrassment landon. dale Jr don’t let one of your company sponsored DRIVERS go to the track and look this embarrassing ever again get in there and help Landon. He’s the best driver you have so embarrassed that the high rock driver had to to drive complete shit. Coming from Florida fan from meet and greet in Daytona.
