    Great video Instructor, and player! I tip my hat sir. Im somewhere near 1,000 years old and been playing bass for around 900 years. Neck dive has never bothered me, overall weight has. The lighter the better 🎉and a true blessing to even have a bass, and be able to play. Thanks again and an awesome video.

      Thank you for your feedback - I really appreciate it! Your comment on being 1,000 years old made me laugh - I'm catching up to you too and I hope to stay out of your locker!

    Just ordered mine from Sweetwater today based on the strength of your reviews. Very detailed, thank you! I also ordered some DR flat wound strings that Sweetwater recommended to try on it. I’ve played Gibson basses since 1966, the EBO & the SG. From your demo of neck dive there is no way the TMB35 will have more neck dive than either of the Gibson basses. Can’t wait for it to arrive!

      @@WorshipBlender it arrived, loved the sound & the way it plays, but it was heavier than my ash body Fender Jazz bass so I sent it back. Im exchanging it for a Ibanez Mikro 5 string.

    I painted mine with "seas the day" Cupcake Polish, it changes color from green to blue to purple.. Awesome! I put dunlop flat wounds and drilled a second strap peg. Note: the stock strings did sound great. Going to change out the tuners but the nail polish cost more than the bass 😃

    I recently purchased the TMB35 from Sweetwater and, like you, have lots of compliments on its sound. I let another bass player use it while he was playing on stage in the band mix and I wandered around the room and was impressed! I also have an Ibanez MiKro 5-string and I get compliments on that too. Unbelievable for the money. As far as neck dive goes, I purchased a 4in wide leather strap and it does help quite nicely. I have also contemplated moving my strap button closer to the top of the bass. I also thought about cutting some wood off the top of the headstock. I like the sound of the DR strings.

    • @WorshipBlender
      @WorshipBlender  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your feedback. Glad you are liking the TMB35, it's a great little bass. Before cutting wood off the headstock, I'd suggest some Ultralight tuners instead. The lighter tuners should help a lot, and are reversible. Even thou it's already an affordable bass, cutting the headstock will kill the remaining resale value.

      You can get rid of the neck dive by drilling and gluing a dowel where the string strap is. Just extending the strap location will fix it right away. The strap should be at the double dot. This is one fret short.

      @@markblacket8900 A strap with more grip MAY work if the neck dive isn’t too heavy. If it’s heavy, you’ll get sick of the pull on your trap muscle and it’ll start rubbing your skin.

    I've just ordered the 4-string version (TMB30) from Sweetwater. My concern now after ordering is that viewing some photos taken by owners, there were signs of slight paint bleed on the headstock. The black paint bleeding down onto the maple portion of the neck. Have you noticed that on your bass? Thanks. Great reviews.

    • @WorshipBlender
      @WorshipBlender  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@WorshipBlender i'm happy to hear that. Mine arrives next Tuesday, and I admit, I was feeling a bit anxious about the paint bleeding down. I appreciate you letting me know that it's not something to worry about. If your's is OK, then I can assume that mine will be as well. Thank you for getting back to me. Much appreciated.

      I did replace the tuners and it helped the neck dive a good bit, but I eventually sold the bass after getting spoiled by the ergonomics of my EHB bass.

    Your videos are excellent. Congratulations and thank you very much. After watching your videos about the Ibanez TMB35 I am very interested in getting one. But first, I'm looking to know the dimensions of the TMB35 to find a case that fits it. Can you help me with some information?

    2) Body Length
    3)Body Height
    4)Upper Bout Width
    5)Waist Width

    The neck dive really surprises me. It really must be due to the heavy tuners and the heavier neck since it is a 5string neck. Squier basses do that also. Glad you bring that up for I have never heard that. I guess the body must be pretty light. Made of poplar I think. That may also be another reason. I love the tone of the Talmon circuitry. That is what keeps me coming back to them. I am looking into getting a 5 string for playing in my church band and am trying to figure out which works best because I am also concerned about the short scale working in a 5 string(with a low B) format. Since finding a set of 5 string short scale strings is a problem I would think you could buy some regular or medium gauge and just cut to what ever length you would need. Is that possible or would there be tuning issues? I can not think of any. The bushing is what is in the tuner hole. I think the new tuners may help quiet a bit to reduce neck dive. My question to you is ....did you notice an issue with getting a good sound out of the low B string and was there much floppiness to it due to the lower short scale tension? Thanks for any information and thank you for the excellent video. I really enjoyed it.

      HI Franko - thanks for the feedback and questions. I have a few other videos that may address some of your questions. These would be my original video review of the TMB35 and a video I recently posted on Hipshot Ultralight tuners (which I tested on the TMB35). Personally, I think the low B is decent enough for my needs - competes pretty close to my Fender American Standard Jazz 5 string, which admittedly isn't the best B string to begin with, but it gets the job done. The TMB35 is a great little bass - upgrade to Ultralight tuners and maybe change the rear strap peg location and it would be awesome.

      The short b string works surprisingly well. No floppiness. The general feeling is wow. Easy to play and hear. I was pleasantly surprised. Much preferred over a too long 35 inch. I've asked Alembic if they will make a 5 string Darling bass.

    • @WorshipBlender
      @WorshipBlender  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The bass isn't that heavy for a bass - in the 8 lb range. But the neck is heavy - it isn't well balanced with the rest of the bass. That was the issue for me as it causes the bass to "neck dive". Otherwise it would have been a keeper in the long term.

    Ibanez makes strings specifically for the 5 string Mikro. Not sure if there would be a problem putting them on this bass as I've discovered the A string is just barely long enough to get even two wraps on the tuner. I think the TMB is maybe an inch or so longer? Don't quote me on that. They go for about 16 dollars a set. That being said, I'm on the waiting list for a TMB and I will probably get a couple sets of the DR High Beams to try out.

    I have one as well, love it except the neck dive. I put lightweight Hipshot tuners on, made a small improvement, tried moving the back strap peg no real difference. I suspect, short of screwing a piece of lead to the bottom of the body there's not much you can do. La Bella certainly flatwounds.
