    Thank you always great to hear from you, always informative and helping to spread knowledge about bass guitars, bass playing and technique. One of the first people I subbed on this platform way back 10 years at least, Thanks to you picked up a bass again 5 years into it now, still no where near as good as you, more content please your talent needs to be wasted on us morals.

    I knew of Bartolini pasta, but now I know they also make pickups. Good vibes and sound 😎👆

    Good stuff Zuma. Interestingly of the 9 Aria’s I have owned 5 had issues with the electronics drying after around 25 years.

      Yes, those of us who enjoy these old beasts will have to deal with their electronics at some point.

    Nice. I have a 79 SB1000 and so far (knock on wood) my original electronics are still going. I was surprised how well the Barts keep alot of the original flavor, but add a little more in the upper range (which is cool by me). I love the SB1000 tone and JT was the reason i picked up bass, but i play in cover bands, and I generally have to EQ my Aria a bit to overcome some of the "midrange fowardness" (if thats a real term)

      That is great. Even if your electronics did go out, those 70s circuits are far easier to repair than the later revision. ... You've got it right. They are midrange forward, perhaps even nasal yet somehow in the most musical way.

    I once ordered a NOS MB-1E pickup from Dana B Goods here in the USA to restore an old SB1000. I also managed to find a selector switch from a military surplus online store. I have a post about it somewhere in the TB Aria thread, but feel free to hit me up if you want specific details and contact info.

      Thank you Michael. I'm sure I read about it at some point. What I'm most interested at the moment is the dual valued pots they put in the latest SB reissues. Heck, I'm sure most players in need would purchase the entire wiring harness just to get them.

    Very interesting! 😃👍
    Which Bartolini pickup is that?

    • @zumazmusic
      @zumazmusic  ปีที่แล้ว

      No idea! It's certainly not a current Bartolini offering. I researched their site and only a couple of pickups are close, but no cigar. I'll have to remove it and see if there are any markings.

      @@quasar5509 The plan is to bring this Black Beauty back to a stock configuration, so it will happen sometime soon. 😎🤘

    Looks like the one John Taylor played

      Indeed, this was the color scheme of his DD "Arena" era and Power Station bass. Of course, for the live Power Station stuff he switched to the Kubicki Ex-Factor and continued with it through Notorious and Big Thing.
